My sister passed suddenly, and Chris (the owner) has made it a point to honor her with making the most magical cakes for these babies. It's emotional every year picking out a design without her but knowing that the babies look forward to their one-of-a-kind birthday cakes, means the world. The memories made around these phenomenal creations are something our family could never repay Nancy Jo's for. Thank you so much for all that you do Chris.“

“We have been coming to Oak Island for the 5 years. Why, I never walked into this amazing place, I don't know. From the coffee, to the donuts, cheese cake, and chocolates, this place is magical ✨️the employee are absolutely amazing. This will forever be one of my favorite spots. “I finally made it into Aunt Irene's and it was 100% worth it! The gentleman that helped me was super nice and informative and the lady was so polite! When I go back I'm definitely going to try the famous fudge she told me about. This time I got the cinnamon bun which was great and the cream cheese icing was probably the best I have had. Their donuts were good and the icing was on point! I also tried the raspberry Danish type dessert and the apple cinnamon crumb cake which were also fantastic! Thank you for amazing desserts, the family and I will be back soon“

“Christine at Side Street Bakery was amazing to work with for my recent wedding. She did the cutest cupcakes and a wonderful small cake to go on top. We also had her provide us with cookies for our family and out of town friends dinner. Interestingly, many of my guests who asked where our cake came from did not know this bakery. I myself had only recently stumbled upon the business while out going all over Southport to sell ads for the Historical Society House tours booklet. Prior to this I had never been there either. I hope with this review and more on other social media that Christine's business gets better known.“
