“Spending a long weekend in OKI, eaten here two of the last three nights, for good reason! Some of the best BBQ in NC, and the nicest folks too. Adored the BBQ pork sandwich especially. It’s not an exaggeration to say that watching the sunset and then eating my sandwich here was the highlight of 2024. This spot two blocks from the beach? It’s almost too good to be true. Thanks y’all!“

“Unbelievable BBQ! I highly recommend this Very Welcoming Mom and Pop BBQ! We bought "The Old Man" and every bite was delicious! Brisket was cooked to perfection, not grisly at all. The ribs fell off the bone, and the pulled pork was tender and not dried out. The BBQ sauce tasted homemade and went great with all the meats! The Cornbread, Potatoe Salad, Baked Beans and Coleslaw paired very well with the meal and to top it off the Apple Crisp hit the spot for a nice dessert! We are a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 small children under 4) and it fed us and we still had leftovers!“

“The sauce choices were amazing in addition to our food. Our family of 5 including my FIL and 2 tweenagers enjoyed chicken, brisket, fries, buffalo chips, chicken tenders, baked beans and Mac n cheese. No complaints from anyone! The staff was helpful and kind helping my father in law who wasn't sure what to order. They let him try some of the meats before he made his decision. They do have a kids menu! The pickles and jalepenos on the bar were a nice touch, too.“

“Moving to North Carolina I haven’t been able to find any good Mexican food….until I passed by Mama C’s. I saw this tiny building and quickly turned my car around. Not only was it delicious, it was beyond filling. I got an asada burrito that was as big as my head! An asada quesadilla, and a tamale. And I was happy with every last bite! I will absolutely be going back over and over. This will be somewhere I’ll go out of my way for!!“
