“Lovely plant-filled dining area that was comfortable despite the chilly weather. We enjoyed our early evening meals served by attentive staff. All of our various entrees were good (4 of us with different choices). The only very minor complaint was that my mother discovered her rice pudding was slightly under baked when we got home (she took dessert as a carry-out).“
“I visited this location today and the cashier was awesome!! I got some breakfast and a medium size mocha ice coffee. Everything was amazing, fresh and hot with an outstanding customer service from the cashier, I think she might of been a manager or crew member. But my sista was awesome..“

“Our flight to LA was cancelled. Needed to find a place near our hotel to have lunch. Walked around and originally went to IHOP. It was completely empty , looked like a scary movie scene , we walked out. Walked by Chubz and noticed it was pretty busy , always a good sign. Walked in and we were greeted so friendly and kindly by the owner. He asked what brought us in , we explained our situation. Come to find out he is originally from the San Fernando Valley area which is where we are from. Explained to us the So Cal places he was trying to recreate with his own spin here in Charlotte. The food was amazing. The best we have had on this trip. For sure a Cali vibe. If we are ever back in Charlotte , we will for sure be stopping in Chubz for the awesome food and staff ! We ordered Chili cheese burger , double cheese burger , chili cheese fries , onion rings and a beef hot dog ! He gave us a sample of all his in house homemade sauces. All were fire as well !! Here is a pic of my partially eaten food The area is not the greatest. This is a diamond in the rough. Worth a visit“
“I wanted to give then 5 stars because my burger looked and tasted much better than the pictures suggested. And I respect that they don't advertise food that looks better than what you get. Also the fries were a huge portion and great tasting. The food was a great price for this part of town as well. Everything came out quick, warm, and fresh.But I tipped a good amount, the amount you'd tip for a full service waiter. Yet the person who brought the food out wouldn't bring me the ketchup located 12 feet away from my table. "It's over there".So basically, the place is 5 stars, if you don't tip.Also I got a larfe beer for $10, which is kind of ridiculous where I'm from.Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.“
“I always go here with my wife and the people that work here are all so kind, specially the ones in the front. I’ve been to different restaurants and the food and service here is amazing! They keep this place always so clean. The guy has helped me decide what to get since my wife is very picky. And I appreciate what he does. And one of the workers up front even talks Spanish and I sometimes see her helping with people who struggles with their orders. But what I didn’t like is, how some customers are towards the workers and spreading lies on the reviews. When me and my wife have ate there a lot of times and not once have they been racist or involved religion like a review had said. But though people will continue spreading lies, I know me and my wife will continue coming here frequently!“

“Had an outstanding burger at Burger & Barley this past weekend.I enjoyed the Mr Big Stuff, which is a monster burger with double patties cooked to order, Boars Head bacon, smoked pimento cheese, and bbq sauce on a brioche bun. Simply delicious! It was hard to eat and almost too big to bite so I resorted to novice burger eater status and used a fork and knife. Very, very good.My wife had the Brinner burger, which is a single patty w/ American cheese, Boars Head candied bacon, over easy egg, and maple mayo on a glazed donut. A GLAZED DONUT! Absolute fire!Both of our burgers were messy but they were also delicious. The burst of flavors is incredible and I have to put them in my top 10 burger places to visit if you get the chance.We split some fried pickles and even though I’m not a pickle fan, I found them to be very good. The saltiness of the pickle coupled with the breading and ranch made for a very good combination that I wasn’t able to stop eating. I also enjoyed two beers - the Tactical Mango Warhead sour and the Hurley Park Blood Orange Wheat. The sour won the day though I wasn’t disappointed by the other.The place was busy, our server was great, and the kitchen was hustling.“
