“I celebrated my birthday at Taverna Agora, and it was an absolutely amazing experience from beginning to end! The customer service was exceptional. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure everything went smoothly. They even called several times before my reservation to confirm my guest count and seating preference, which showed how much they value preparation and customer satisfaction.

We originally requested a table on their beautiful rooftop, but after one of my guests started getting bitten by mosquitoes, we asked if we could move indoors. The staff didn’t hesitate—they quickly accommodated our request without making us feel like it was an inconvenience.

One of my favorite touches of the evening was that they kept my favorite drink coming all night without me ever having to ask twice. It made me feel truly celebrated and taken care of.

The food, atmosphere, and hospitality made my birthday one to remember. If you’re looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion or simply enjoy a great meal with outstanding service, I can’t recommend Taverna Agora enough. “We somehow stumbled upon this place via AI’s suggestion when we were looking for Mediterranean food in Raleigh, and man, it was fabulous so much so that we came back a day later!!

The atmosphere is nice and the location is truly top-notch, especially for NC State students on Main Campus. The lady who serves the meals there is extremely nice and lovely.

You can find a pretty good variety of Mediterranean food there.

“Stopped by for a quick bite and got the fish sandwich. It came out piping hot and was delicious. Good fish, nice bun, not over-tartered.
Employees were really nice and the place is somewhere i actually didn't mind eating in (most places we just grab takeout these days). I'll definitely be back.“

“This place is spectacular! We ended up here by chance because the nazi owner of the Falls of Neuse Chik fil a down the street wouldn't let us walk 15 feet to a table without masks on. Let me be clear when I say that we are done with that mask game. We will not patronize a business that requires masks. Period! My money will be spent elsewhere. My wife stumbled upon Taza Grille and when we went to check it out, we found wonderful people running it. People like us. People that have common sense. Sam the owner will treat you like family from the moment you walk in. Sam's right hand man and his wife also were awesome! I had a lamb gyro with fries and hummus. It was seasoned perfectly! One of the best, if not the best gyro I've ever had. Please patronize businesses like Sam's. Make the businesses that are using cruel and unnecessary restrictions hurt financially. Stop giving them business. Make the stupidity stop. Thank you Sam and Tazas Grill! We will see you every week before or after our doctor's appointment and will bring the new baby soon!“

“Food was good, although temperature was a bit too cold. They were closing in a half hour and didn't have gyro on roller. Gyro was already cut they weren't keeping it hot enough within the steam table.....thus loosing a star. Baklava was good but used to be better. It used to be my favorite baklava anywhere. I believe they used to get it from Chapel Hill if I remember correctly. Been hitting both Hillsborough locations for many years when in Raleigh.“
