“Came to pick up order on Christmas night, and it was closing time, 9 pm. She took my order around 8:30, and she was super nice and friendly. Food was good, except the quality of the chicken in the Happy Family. Unable to describe it, was just weird texture and didn't look like chicken. Prices were average. Plan to go back.“

“This restaurant used to be our favorite. Since the new owners came, everything has gone down hill. The egg rolls are smaller and filled with more rice than anything else. The fried rice is just tan rice with nothing else added. Any dish that is served with vegetables, now expect the veggies to be served raw - uncooked with a sauce over them. The thinly sliced chicken has a lot of fat and gristle. Even the hot tea (overpriced) has a different taste. The last 2 times I ordered the Egg Fu Yung - I was really sick afterwards. If I ever go back I will just order noodle soup with no vegetables or chicken. The waitresses are very nice but I worry about what goes on in the kitchen. Their sanitary rating is low so the kitchen can't be too clean. There are other Chinese restaurants in the area that we will be trying.“

“Not a place to dine in if you are looking for romance or a night out. HOWEVER! The take out is perfect. The dumplings were exceptional, fresh and a good serving. I ordered egg drop soup and it was spot on. No pets or carrots- exactly how I had hoped.
I only ordered appetizers to take home and eat since it was late for a big meal. But I'm sure to give them a try. It is a family run business. Supporting small local businesses in Walnut cove.“

The food was amazing and everything was cooked to perfection. The workers were also super friendly. The restaurant is mainly take out but they do offer tables for customers that need a place to eat. Honestly, if they had a fancy looking brick and mortar they could charge 3 times the price because all of their food is so good. I am a very picky Chinese food person. “This is a typical no-frills hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant that caters mainly for takeaway but provides tables and chairs for self-service dine-in. It appears to be run by an Asian couple, with the man sweating over the wok and the woman multi-tasking behind the counter. Having been familiarized with Asian food culture through living and traveling in that part of the world for decades, it inspired confidence to learn that the woman was Thai, a people who take cooking seriously and with pride. I ordered the Singapore Mein Fun (Singaporean-style stir-fried rice-vermicelli) and ate on the premises. This noodle dish didn't disappoint - it was every bit as good as those served in Hong Kong (weirdly enough, Singapore Mein Fun is not a Singaporean dish but a Hong Kong invention). You can usually gauge a Chinese restaurant by its fried rice and noodles, and based on this, I'm pretty sure other dishes on the menu are just as yummy. I'll say this restaurant deserves a higher grade than its current 3-star rating, especially when it comes to food quality.“

“I ordered takeout from China Rose on a rainy Sunday afternoon and was seriously impressed. The packaging alone stood out — everything arrived in a thermal bag and was packed perfectly.

The food was excellent and tasted just like we were dining in the restaurant. Everything was very fresh and still hot. Our order included two sesame chickens, General Tso’s chicken, all with fried rice, plus pork rolls, wonton soup, and crab rangoon. Every single item was amazing — no misses at all.

Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for great Chinese food and top-notch takeout service.“
