“We’ve passed by so many times and always see a bunch of cars. We finally stopped in last night and we are so glad we did. Drinks were great, our server was fantastic. I think her name was Gretta. She gave us food suggestions and was very attentive. Food was great. Hubby had the Sea Bass special and I had the pork belly and scallops. Both delicious. The baklava pie was out of this world. I think we will be stopping by again while we are visiting. Highly recommended. Lots of people waiting for a table and take out. We loved the vibe and decor.“

“We live just north of the village and come here often. Love Yellow Mug! Order at the counter, find a table indoors or out, they will find you when your food is ready. Terrific fresh-ground coffee, creative breakfasts, sandwiches, salads (I love The One with Quinoa and Butternut Squash—yes, that is its name). Very fresh food, veg/vegan and GF options, beer and wine, excellent wifi….one of our favorite places!!!“

Pecan honey bar: ask to have it warmed. Very rich. Good taste but mostly just tastes like honey.
Breakfast chorizo burrito: very good! Sausage has a strong taste, highly recommend.
Chocolate croissant: has chocolate on the inside, light and fluffy croissant. Very tasty.
Breakfast croissant: fresh and light. The tomato gave it a good fresh taste. If you want a light breakfast but filling, this is recommend.
Strawberry flavor in the latte was a huge hit with my party.
I wish they had some of the patties cut in half to see what the inside looked like, such as the eclair. ITS HUGE!
Fast pace environment like most coffee shops right downtown. Plenty of seating inside and a few seats outside if you want to tan in the direct sunlight.“

So let’s text and so rich I had to take my time eating it. My husband got a shaved ice that was like nothing we’d ever had before., so refreshing and fun.“

“I don’t like wings but or restaurants really at all but when I seen my server Grace come up to me and give me that impeccable service I just knew. Only thing bad I’d say is when I asked for my water on the rocks another server came and did not serve the water on the rocks. Other then that keep up the good service I’ll definitely be back and asking for Grace.“

“Such a great resource for the students, my daughter is excited that all the syrups for flavoring the coffee are sugar cane so she can have fancy coffees. I even had a sugar Dr Pepper, haven't had one of those in years. Deb, who runs the shop, is great and holds her products she serves to a very high standard.

Wheelchair accessibility: No steps to get into the shop and the doors have button openers but those need a staff or student badge to engage them because it is access to student dorms.“

“John F has single handedly saved my first experience at the GPI. My 2 kids and I have traveled across country from Wisconsin to Chapel Hill after packing up my childhood home for a month after my parents passed away. I was exhausted after a 9 hour drive to Asheville and decided to book a room here as a special treat. When we arrived it rained and despite accepting the pouring rain we didn't get any sympathy or help except for John who listened to me rant and bought me a glass of wine. Bottom Line - Thank You John“

“There was a wonderful variety of items to choose from, it was difficult to decide. We would have gotten the jalapeño fries and cauliflower tacos but their main frier wasn’t working so we got the chorizo tacos, coconut curry and sweet potato Ruben which came with crispy homemade fries (they have a small frier that was working). We don’t enjoy vegan cheese that is made using Science so we opted for the cashew queso which was absolutely delicious. The tacos were our favorite item. The texture and taste were a solid 10 out of ten. Which made me miss trying the cauliflower tacos even more. The Ruben was our 2nd favorite. I usually have tempeh meat on a Ruben so I couldn’t imagine how they could make sweet potato taste “meaty” but they did. It was so delicious, I will be looking up how to make that “sweet potato meat” at home. The Thai Panang Curry was the only disappointment. It was fresh tasting and the tofu was fried to crispy perfection. It just needed more sauce. I got the Blackberry Ginger Mint mocktail. It was just the right amount of sour and was a beautiful presentation. Our only regret was not leaving room for dessert. If we lived in Asheville we would be regulars at this establishment. Our server was also Excellent! She was attentive without being intrusive. She pre-bussed the table and refilled our water glasses and asked if we needed another round and brought us our food perfectly timed! We went back the next day and had the Tostada Enchilada salad (it’s the choriso taco grown up), the Supreme pizza with no cheese (nice crispy crust and a good amount of sauce), the Amaretto Cherry Cheesecake (absolutely worth going back just for that!) the peanut butter cookie (the only disappointment) and the Lime Aid (perfecly balanced and not too sweet). “I have to shout out this awesome crew at @panerabread on tunnel rd Asheville. I had a client tonight that really wanted dinner after giving birth. No where was delivering to the hospital because it was too close to closing; and the cafeteria at @missionhealthnc was closed.
I called Panera as I pulled out of my parking spot; 17 minutes to closing time. They couldn’t take an order over the phone- typically corp wants to push the use of the app. Wished me luck on making it.
The manager called back to clarify what I needed and where I was coming from. Let me know that if the door was locked when I pulled in to call and he would let me in, wished me luck. I was called a third time from the store and they said that they decide to take my order anyway and would make sure to wait for me. ❤️
I pulled in 4 till closing, they neatly packed the food for the new mama and fam, and we got cookies for Labor and Delivery.
