“Went 11/16, the day after they re-opened following the ongoing devastation to Asheville and the region. We sat at the counter and enjoyed watching chef Ashleigh prepare our food.

GHF Sando was solid. It's stacked comically high, so don't be shy about smashing it with your palm for a manageable eating experience. I thought the white bread would be inferior to a bun, but it worked out well. I wish I'd asked for more sauce and pickles.

The special Smoked Trout Salad sando had an amazing contrast of flavors and textures: sweet and salty, smokey and briney, (fried then chilled?) trout skin and just a touch of two types of tiny popping fish roe. I was surprised I enjoyed it more than the GHF (catfish), but I can say I thorughly enjoyed both because I ONLY ate half of each. A full sando of either would've been a bit much toward the finish.

Sides were ok. The kitchen pepper carrots were a bit subtle for me. The potato chips were tasty but my portion was slightly darker/burnt than the others I saw coming from the fryer. Hush puppies were straight-forward and their briney spiced mayo sauce was fun.

We had the Our South saison, chef Ashleigh's collab with Burial Beer. Although it wasn't particularly remarkable in and of itself, it was a great compliment to the food and a memorable part of the overall experience.

It was hilarious to go downstairs and see my husband and my oldest sweating in out playing air hockey, my next two playing skee ball and my other son getting a high score on Donkey Kong!!! I am a big eater of chicken, and of quesadillas, and in my years of coming here I've never had a bad one, and almost always get an incredible one. Their prices are fairly high, and I don't know their whole menu, but I could have one every day here and never tire of it. If you enjoy a good spicy chicken quesadilla, you've found a new favorite spot.“

We were a group of four and had the pad wu sen (they accommodated a "light on the oil" request) cashew chicken, crispy rolls and edamame, and took home an order of mango sticky rice.
