Scrumptious fried chicken
We didn't see any raccoons on our visit, but there were several birds to watch. Apparently they like the scraps as much as everyone else. It was very loud, but that is to be expected at 1 on a Saturday afternoon. Our food was delicious and the leftovers are fantastic too. It was so much food and absolutely worth the price. Service was great, my fresh brewed iced tea never ran low and we saw our server multiple times because she was busy, but keeping up well.
You MUST order a slice or 2 of cake even if your full. Take it home. You won’t regret it.

Alpine Inn offers delicious fried chicken, with friendly and accommodating staff. Visitors enjoy watching raccoons outside, some even have names like Sparkles and Lizzo. The food is always hot and tasty, with generous portions. The fried chicken is perfect, and many customers believe it is as good as the overall experience of the restaurant. Although it can get loud and crowded, with occasional wait times, the atmosphere is filled with people having a great time. Many families appreciate the fun, especially the kids who love the raccoons and the cake at the end. Customers keep coming back for more, thankful for the phenomenal food and reasonable prices. It is recommended to go early to secure a table, particularly those by the windows for a prime view of the raccoons enjoying leftovers.
During warmer months, raccoons are out all day, while in colder months, they come closer to evening. About ten raccoons often gather at once, creating a lively and entertaining scene. The raccoons are feisty, trying to horde food and biting each other as they eat behind a locked emergency exit door. Visitors often order the 4 piece dinner plate, sharing it while enjoying the fun show. The chicken tenders are juicy and lightly breaded, making the meal special. Customers appreciate the large portions and fair prices, though they note the absence of Arnold Palmers or lemonade. For dessert, a sour cream and raisin pie is offered, which is surprisingly very sweet.
Overall, Alpine Inn is a fun and unique place where the chicken is truly excellent. It is a legitimate fried chicken destination and a great spot for families to enjoy the raccoons. Calling ahead is recommended, as hours can vary. The lively atmosphere and entertaining raccoons make it a memorable experience for all visitors.
