“Our visit was amazing! Our grandchildren learned about the history of making maple syrup as well as the process. The owners engaged the children to explore the property and check the sap buckets. The baked goods are beyond words…maple meringue, are just one of the kids favorites. My favorite…the Anadama bread and their special coffee.”

“Attended with a large group after a memorial service in town. The food and service were excellent. I ordered the Incredible Seafood Stew and it was outstanding. Large chunks of lobster, haddock, shrimp and scallops and no potatoes! Amazingly delicious, truly the best seafood stew I’ve ever tasted. Looking forward to going back sometime soon. “We stopped here for lunch after hiking Mount Major and had a great time! The beer was outstanding (the Wish You Were Here NE IPA was the best IPA that I've had in a while!) and the pizza was very tasty! It was also a very relaxed atmosphere and was perfect for our two kids and our dog. We will definitely be back!”

“Affordable, delicious, and prompt service. I have lived in Wakefield for 3 years and have complained that there is no good pizza around. I have tried at least 15 different places. Of course, as soon as I am about to move across the country, I find the BEST pizza in the area. Top notch! I also have a high pizza standard as my husband has perfected the homemade pizza and worked in many pizza joints in his youth.”

“The food was good and the atmosphere was great, the waitress was not very attentive to our table though.. I did ask to be put away from people due to my wife's health and getting ready for her bone marrow transplant so that might have scared her to not come over to our table much. I ordered a carrot cake to go but never received it, I forgot all about it when I paid the check but I was at the counter buying some glasses so it wasn't like I just up and left, there was time for the waitress to bring it out or could have brought it out when I paid the check but she didn't. other than that it was very good and their light beer I got was excellent.”

“Great food, slow service, but worth the stop\n\nWe were a group of five staying nearby and looking for a good local spot to get dinner before settling in. This place popped up with several great reviews, so we gave it a shot. The food definitely delivered!\n\nWe ordered the sampler (with double chicken tenders and potato skimmers), two orders of mozzarella sticks, and the mac & cheese with ribs. Everything came out hot and packed with flavor. We even got onion rings which we didn’t order but were happy to see. Total comfort food and worth the wait. I also had the Painkiller cocktail, which was strong but definitely hit the spot.\n\nThat said, service was slow across the board. It took a while just to get acknowledged, then more time to get drinks, even more for the food, and the bill took a while too. They were clearly busy, and our server Jen was friendly and attentive when she was with us, but the wait times added up.\n\nThe atmosphere felt very “homey” kind of like a small town hangout where everyone knows each other. As someone who rocks an afro, I definitely stood out, the place lacked diversity and that was noticeable. Still, we didn’t feel unwelcome, just very aware of it.\n\nOverall, it’s a cozy, homey spot with great food. Just go in knowing it might be a slow-paced experience, especially on a busy night.”

“Date night at Blue Bay Seafood and Steaks. They have amazing Thursday night specials. Always too much food for me. We both got their fried super tender clam strips. One with mash potatoes and the other with 1/2 fries 1/2 onion rings. We got their side salad and the. Split the lemoncello mascarpone cake. All under $50”

“Stopped here during our car ride to our vacation house (back in August) to stretch our legs, grab a snack, and enjoy a very necessary mid-day beer. I’m vegan, so the sign out front that said “NOT ENOUGH VEGAN OPTIONS” made me laugh out loud. It was perfect, first thought was it must have been a review. Love that humor. Also, somehow the only photo I took that day was of that sign.

The owner, or management — hard to say but clearly someone who cares, was there with (his) kids and was incredibly kind. He took time to show my son the amazing wall art and pointed out all the fun details, which instantly won us over.

Beer-wise: plenty of funky options (and yes, beer is typically vegan). They were totally cool with my modified order, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. Great humor, awesome artwork, very kid-friendly, and an easygoing, inclusive atmosphere.

Bonus points for being partially veteran- and female-owned, and clearly committed to local, slow, and thoughtful food.

We stopped by to kill a little time and left really thankful for the experience. Would absolutely stop again.”

“Cute place, perfect menu for kids. Blt was yummy, bacon cooked perfectly, bread could have been a bit more toasted. Kid enjoyed the grilled cheese and hubby the steak and cheese. “Monday (Labor Day), I drove an hour to here on my way home from Maine for breakfast to find they were closed. No sign or anything. I checked both FB and online before going (I was on the road before they opened), to find that they were going to be opened. I’m just wondering why they were closed.”

“We usually get the chicken sandwiches but after reading farmer Dave’s info about his burgers ,we had to try them. We went with the route 16 classic cheeseburgers added bacon and we were NOT disappointed. They were cooked and seasoned perfectly. I upgraded to onion rings and those were excellent as well.”

“I've live near Johnsons for 25 years. When the owners bought the restaurant it was like night and day. I have never been disappointed with my food. I've always let with a full tummy and a smile. I do recommend Johnsons Dairy bar”

“The Prime Rib Sandwich was incredible🔥— truly one of the best I’ve had. The atmosphere is spot on, especially with the snowmobiles rolling in and out right off the trails. A fun, authentic spot with great energy and even better food.”

“They are now making the best thin crust pizza anywhere. But if you want a classic toasted Italian sub, don't order it here. Maybe they grew up in someplace other than the east coast, but even with coaching, they don't know what "toasted" is, where the bun gets a bit crunchy, the cheese is well melted and the meat is hot and losing its juices to the bun. Like another poster described, very much like a Market Basket sandwich.”

If you’re going to Wolfeboro Inn you need a place to grab breakfast I certainly suggest Dunkin’ Donuts.”
