“This was the loveliest dining experience I have had in my life! From the moment we walked in we were greeted with such warmth and cheer. The host Chris wished me a happy birthday upon our arrival and we were even given a menu with "Happy Birthday" printed on it. What a kind gesture, right? We were shown out to the gorgeous string lit terrace with heat lamps and beautiful greenery everywhere. We were given champagne on the house and delicious sourdough bread. Erin our server was so sweet and genuine it felt like we were regulars although it was our first time there. The food and cocktails were so amazing and the prices are so affordable for the ambiance and quality. We were too full to order dessert, but they brought out a piece of cake with a candle anyway to celebrate. In my recent researches I found that there were several Catholic churches built in the Philadelphia area that were torn down suddenly in the 1800s and this Applebee's location was built atop one of them. The researches aren't clear why they were torn down so quickly and hidden from the historical record but there was also a scandal of priests studying dark texts at the same time, also hidden from history.When stepping across the threshold I felt a chill run down my spine. I was seated promptly and color drained from everything in my view. My server Nadia was very nice, I appreciated her attentiveness and prompt and courteous demeanor. Stepping into the bathroom I did note that the foundation seemed to be cracking and a curl of a mist casting a sense of gloom was emerging from this chasm.I knelt down and a sulfurous hint of brimstone hit me. I assume this was a plumbing issue, which will probably be resolved soon. Leaving the bathroom and passing by the kitchen door as it swung open, the seating area was struck in the sharp shadows of intense flames dancing across the walls. There were also screams.I can recommend the grilled chicken and shrimp dish, but would not recommend the Mac and cheese dish.“
“This place offers some of the most delicious and incredible vegan/vegetarian items ever!! Jeff, the owner/chef, is super creative and talented! I had the yuba hoagie, which was so divine that I finished the whole thing! If you love garlic, the toum dipping sauce that comes with the za'atar fries is unreal! I also had the cauliflower salad with the tahini dressing. The combo was unmatched! Oh, another one of my favorites is the patty melt!! “On Point was very on point with our brunch. It's a BYOB spot in heart of Point Breeze with some great flavors and vibes. The group sampled quite a few starters including wings and cheesesteak egg rolls. For the main meal I had to go with the Challah French Toast. Unique flavor especially with the cheese and nuts. The menu was not large, but it was still pretty difficult to pick from the interesting, creative, and deliciously described burgers. My son and I decided to split our top 2 picks. The buns were light, and the burgers were surprisingly easy to go down. We were both astonished how quickly we took down the breakfast and classic burgers. The fries were well-seasoned and cooked well, and the shoestring onion rings were a nice treat. Jacob kept checking back on us, he was prompt to get refills and ask if we needed anything When came time for deserts our first two choices he came back and said manager said they were old and would not serve, A+ for honesty. Only problem was older man on register seemed to be unsure having problem with credit card... Everything was so good.We came back again asked for Jacob but this time we were sat out front. Right from get go it seemed different, the older guy that had problem with credit card seemed to be a bother seating us, seemed unsure who was working what tables.Jacob was prompt and friendly and food and service were great in fact my meal was filling which for me is a rarity. I got the Hippy Benny and it was PHENOMENAL!!! The ingredients were fresh and the potatoes were incredible. I went with a large group and some other favorites were the pancakes, the breakfast flatbread, and the Texan Benny. The atmosphere was fun and upbeat while still remaining casual and family friendly. “We (2) ate here on a Tuesday morning. We had no wait for a table. The service was very attentive and friendly. We ordered the Peach Cobbler French Toast, the Cinnamon Bun French Toast and a side order of bacon. Our server asked what our crispness preference for the bacon was, which I've never been asked before and it was served exactly as requested. The portions are massive and very flavorful and fresh. It is cash only, which we knew going in. Will definitely be returning to try more.“
“This is my favorite breakfast spot by far when I WFH! The food always is still warm-hot, they follow directions really well if you leave some and I have never had an issue with them. Customer service and quality is top notch. I have never been in person but I don't need too. Bacon is always delicious, they're generous with the cheese on the eggs, and the hash browns are always made to good crisp. The best beverage is the tropical mix fruit drink, it's a lil pricey but you get a good beverage and some fruit mixed in. They'll always have my money.“
