“Rudra Indian Bistro on Cedar Lane is authentic as it gets. We have been here so many times and will always keep coming back because the food is high quality, healthy, and very delicious. We always start with the House Salad which is a great way to begin your meal. The Tandoori chicken is so juicy and succulent, and the Lamb Korma is one of our favorites. I highly recommend Rudra Indian Bistro! One of the best restaurants of Teaneck...“

“Rudraks on the upper west side is a wonderful Indian restaurant. The food is fresh, delicious unique but familiar. The restaurant is cozy and people seem to really enjoy their time… having nice conversations. I have seen groups of families, couples and also individuals going to have a reasonably priced lunchtime meal Today. We had delicious lunchtime meal for $15 which included an entrée bread, rice, lentils, and dessert. You really can’t be that price and the food is really delicious not oily not greasy and the service is super kind and they make you feel like a very special customer. Thanks very much for such an enjoyable experience.“

“We’ve eaten at Gulab in Cliffside Park several times, and the food is always excellent. The chicken tikka is flavorful and tender, the chicken biryani is perfectly seasoned, and the naan comes out nice and warm every time.
The atmosphere isn’t anything fancy, but the consistently great food more than makes up for it. Definitely one of the best spots in the area for a reliably delicious meal.“

“The goat curry was amazing! No gamey smell, the meat was super tender, and the flavor was spot on. I could eat the gravy by itself. Plus, they use less salt, and you can always ask them to adjust the dish to your taste.“

“First time I had Indian food was a few years ago in NC, and I was NOT impressed. We were up visiting my sister in Ridgewood and we went out for fathers day dinner at Tabla. We ordered a bunch of different appetizers and entrees and we shared them all. I was absolutely impressed. I totally enjoyed EVERY item. I especially liked the curry fish with coconut milk. The service was exceptional and very friendly, it was an entirely enjoyable experience. I heartily recommend this Indian Restaurant in Ridgewood, NJ.“

“Went for lunch on a random Monday and had the prefix menu, which was absolutely exquisite. Fresh flavors, great portions, everything and I mean everything was just exquisite. I must stop if you find yourself in Irvington, and order a couple times a week if you’re fortunate enough to live there! This place is that good.“

“It's a very cozy spot. They keep your water filled and they servers check in frequently but not so much that it's a bother. The space is pretty narrow so if it's too busy, you might be very close to other patrons. There were a lot of delivery pick ups happening the whole time, but it didn't delay our appetizers and entrees. We ordered lamb and chicken samosas. The chicken ended up being my favorite. Entrees (ordered all mild): lamb tikka masala, butter chicken (very tomato forward), and chicken korma. Also, we enjoyed plain and garlic naan. Everything tasted fresh.“

“I live 1 block away & get to enjoy Indian Tanpura's food whenever I want! Pictured are the vegetable samosas (2 per order), Saag Paneer, garlic naan & aloo paratha, and Chicken Kashmir.
Every time we order we get the samosa: absolutely excellent with the sauces & garlic. Saag Paneer is a standout too, that's part of most of our orders. We've tried almost all of the curried dishes, and others like Rogan Josh, lamb moglai and have enjoyed them all. Proceed with caution on the vindaloo, one of the spiciest I've had!
The staff is warm & welcoming, vibe inside is calm & classic. Highly recommend!“

“I highly recommend this place. The menu was diverse and had many amazing choices and the food was tasty and affordable. The waiter we had was incredibly nice. I strongly recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala because we enjoyed it very much. The place was small but we enjoyed it and the only thing that I would recommend the staff to do is add some music. A small speaker would make the meal even greater :) Truly a hidden gem!“

“An affordable and basically always-open pure veg place that would be an essential refuge for students and gig workers in the UWS even if it wasn't also some of the best and most instantly recognizable North Indian home cooking you can find in New York. Get whatever they have and eat it with fragrant tawa roti and mango achaar.“

“The food is amazing here, and portions are big!
Be prepared for a long wait time, my two coworkers and I came here for lunch today and we had to wait 45 minutes to receive our entrees.
It was worth it, and we will be back again!“

“I just took my friend to Downtown Dhaba for her birthday lunch. We both agree the food was wonderful. And we both had leftovers to have later. Service was very attentive, but not overbearing. My first time here, but I will be back.“

“I understand that the management and the chef are one and the same as that of Awadh, where I ate a number of times. Well, the menu is different but the quality is the same. I loved the lamb chops and the goat. Spice level was fine. Because it ws a holiday the beautifully appointed dining room was quiet, enabling good conversation. I have no idea what it will be like when all tables are filled. We were happy with the service and never felt rushed.“

“Random walk-in to try their lunch buffet on a Sat afternoon got us here. Old skool Indian restaurant; dated interiors, old bar that still serves Indian classic cocktails, and a buffet that surprisingly manages to justify its $21 price tag (half-priced for kids under 6).
Poonam, our hostess got us seated and we went straight to grabbing our food, Their buffet selection was limited, but felt perfect. Snacks included Samosa's and Chicken Pakoras with a tasty green chutney, and mains focused on dependable classics like Aloo Gobi, Saag Paneer, and a rather bland Dal Makhni. They had one Indo-Chinese mains - Fish Chilly, and non-veg mains included Chicken Tikka Masala, Goat Curry, Chicken Kali-Mirch. They also had Biryani Rice and Choley Bhature, but the Bhatura's were very thick and disappointing.
They served naan and rotis on the table and the staff was friendly. Restaurant had a good amount of foot traffic throughout our stay! Will definitely be our local go-to-Indian restaurant in the neighborhood!“

“Ordered the chicken curry lunch box and picked up within 45 mins. It came with a portion of chicken curry, chopped and sautéed red vegetables (I think it may have been beets), fluffy rice, moru curry (turmeric-infused buttermilk), mango pickle, fish curry, and a gulab jamun. (I substituted the default kingfish curry for "malabar fish curry" with salmon pieces instead - was blown away by its taste!). Everything was fresh and flavorful! I especially loved the fluffy rice, the moru curry, the spiciness of the chicken curry, and most of all, the flavor profile of the malabar fish curry! Would definitely come back and buy this combo again!
Parking: Street parking on slight incline. Street is fairly quiet and was somewhat filled but can still easily find parking.“

“My wife & I have been to Anar four times now. We go every time we come to NY. The service has always been great & the food is always on point. I have nothing but great things to say about this place & I HIGHLY recommend it. We went today to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary & we left happy, as we always do. We went when they first reopened at 5 & had the place to ourselves for a while, which was nice. Keep supporting this business.“

“The food here is fantastic, they have a great large menu and a ton of really good drinks. It’s nice that it’s so close to Central Park, it’s a really nice area. The owner is very sweet and attentive. She gave my girlfriend and I a free dessert. Roman, our server was great too. He recommended me his favorite chicken dish, and always kept on top of our waters and plates. I’m not usually full after eating at restaurants, but it was very filling. Anytime I’m in the area this is my go to spot.“
