“My wife and I shared a lovely meal here last weekend. The food was delicious and high-quality (not too oily or salty), and the service was delightful. The restaurant operator was very friendly and pleasant to chat with. It’s a small, no-frills sort of place, but nevertheless charming and inviting. Highly recommend.“

“Rudra Indian Bistro on Cedar Lane is authentic as it gets. We have been here so many times and will always keep coming back because the food is high quality, healthy, and very delicious. We always start with the House Salad which is a great way to begin your meal. The Tandoori chicken is so juicy and succulent, and the Lamb Korma is one of our favorites. I highly recommend Rudra Indian Bistro! One of the best restaurants of Teaneck...“

“Small, hole-in-the-wall Indian spot tucked away in Cliffside Park that you could easily pass a hundred times without noticing. I decided to give it a try because of the solid Google ratings, and I wasn’t disappointed. The order was prepared quickly and overall the food was pretty good.
The tandoori chicken cubes were very tender, though they could’ve used a little something extra to really take them over the top. Still enjoyable. The lentil soup was very good and stood out.
The menu has a fair amount of options, prices are baseline for the area, and the place was clean. Definitely worth checking out if you’re nearby.“
“I’ve ordered takeout from this restaurant plenty of times, but I decided to eat inside the restaurant with some family. The waitress was so kind and welcoming, and the food was consistently delicious! I highly recommmend this spot for tourists or locals. <3“

“We visited this place for dinner on a whim while we were in New York, and we’re so glad we did. The ambiance was warm and cozy, with Indian music playing in the background, which added a lovely and authentic touch to the experience.
The food was not just good it was truly delicious. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. We ordered saag paneer , Dal Makhni, and Naan, and each dish was excellent. The portion sizes were generous and satisfying as well.
A special mention to Mr. Deep and his Sister for their wonderful hospitality. They made sure our visit was memorable and comfortable.
I would definitely recommend this family run restaurant to anyone looking for great Indian food. Absolutely loved it 😍“

“Rudraks on the upper west side is a wonderful Indian restaurant. The food is fresh, delicious unique but familiar. The restaurant is cozy and people seem to really enjoy their time… having nice conversations. I have seen groups of families, couples and also individuals going to have a reasonably priced lunchtime meal Today. We had delicious lunchtime meal for $15 which included an entrée bread, rice, lentils, and dessert. You really can’t be that price and the food is really delicious not oily not greasy and the service is super kind and they make you feel like a very special customer. Thanks very much for such an enjoyable experience.“

I must stop if you find yourself in Irvington, and order a couple times a week if you’re fortunate enough to live there! This place is that good.“

“The goat curry was amazing! No gamey smell, the meat was super tender, and the flavor was spot on. I could eat the gravy by itself. Plus, they use less salt, and you can always ask them to adjust the dish to your taste.“

“There are many vegetarian-friendly options here. The Himalayan and Indian spice flavors are interesting and engaging, without heat overwhelming the actual flavor of the dishes. The waitstaff is friendly and efficient, and the guitarist who plays Sunday evenings is talented, with calming music.“

“Stopped by on a weekday evening ordered the butter chicken, cheese naan, and chicken kati roll. My husband is south indian and agreed the dishes were well seasoned and chicken was super juicy and delicious even my picky toddler ate more than usual! We have been to the michelin 5 star indian restaurants that have cropped up with the fine dining trend, but nothing beats food that tastes like home (especially the price). Portions were generous and owner was polite. Hope to come back to try the buffet soon.“

“Overall, a 10/10 experience! Truly a gem to find after a long day at the museum and brisk walk through Central Park.
The food here was amazing! The vegetable samosas, chicken saag, and the chicken tikka masala with the garlic naan was the perfect combination. I really enjoyed the samosa sauces and the spices in each of the chicken dish… the garlic naan was also some of the best I’ve had.
The owner was so welcoming and kind, which made the experience even better. Definitely coming back!“

“Found this place as “Desi Vegan” on google maps, which doesn’t seem to actually exist but is just a sub-menu of this place or something like that. The restaurant itself is definitely a bit of a hole in the wall—just a few tables and no physical menus or anything—but don’t judge a book by its cover. We had some of the best Indian food we’ve had anywhere, and a full vegan lunch for two was like $25. Super authentic, and extremely nice people working there too, even gave us a couple of free samosas as we headed out. I think this’ll be our new go-to spot for the one time a year we fly out of JFK and are driving by near here Updated from previous review on 2026-01-11“

“We have been visiting Veda Restaurant Tenafly NJ for years, and it remains our go-to destination for authentic Indian cuisine. “I highly recommend this place. The menu was diverse and had many amazing choices and the food was tasty and affordable. The waiter we had was incredibly nice. I strongly recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala because we enjoyed it very much. The place was small but we enjoyed it and the only thing that I would recommend the staff to do is add some music. A small speaker would make the meal even greater :) Truly a hidden gem!“

“Baazi Nyc is my absolute go-to for Indian food on the UWS! I frequently order takeout from them, and the food is consistently fantastic. They have mastered the perfect level of spiciness—it’s never bland or overly sweet, and they don’t just blast the food with heat for the sake of it. You can actually taste the complex, authentic flavors instead of just burning your palate.
If you are looking for recommendations, their Branzino Pollichattu is an absolute must-have. You also can't go wrong with their rich, deeply flavorful 2 Day Dal Makhni.
I used them for catering once, and they were phenomenal. The team was incredibly helpful in suggesting ideas, coming up with a great menu, and setting everything up properly so I didn't have to stress.
I’ve also dined in a couple of times, and the experience and service were just as amazing as the food. Whether it's a cozy night in, a catered event, or a sit-down dinner, Baazi always delivers. Highly recommend!“

“This place is such a gem. As an Indian I'm pretty particular about Indian food. I've been to Anar twice now and both times have left feeling very full and very happy with the taste and overall quality of the food. All the dishes we ordered were season really well and came out fresh and hot as did the garlic naan. The basmati rice was fluffy and separated and perfect to round out the meal. The staff here is really kind and went over and beyond when I left my wallet on the table and left. Someone from the restaurant chased me down for several blocks to return my wallet to me. I already am looking forward to going back.“

“Manhattan Valley is an absolute gem for Indian cuisine right in the heart of Manhattan. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels warm and welcoming, making it a perfect spot whether you’re dining casually or celebrating something special.
The food is the real star here. Every dish was bursting with authentic flavor, perfectly spiced, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. From the rich, creamy curries to the fresh naan and aromatic rice, everything tasted incredibly fresh and thoughtfully prepared. You can tell a lot of care goes into each plate.
The service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and genuinely happy to help with recommendations. Despite being in the middle of NYC, the experience felt personal and unrushed, which is hard to find.
If you’re looking for top-tier Indian cuisine in Manhattan, Manhattan Valley is a must-visit. This place delivers on flavor, quality, and hospitality, and it’s definitely somewhere I’ll be returning to again and again.“

“Best butter chicken i’ve ever had!! There’s options to allow for spice levels which makes it great to order for groups. We ordered take out and the owner was nice enough to throw in an extra naan for us, thank you! Sauce was very flavorful, great portions of chicken. Even the plain white rice had wonderful hints of herbs and cardamom. Naan was soft, filled with cheese and huge portion for the price. Will be back!“
