“Amazing Indian food in a relaxing and chic setting. Great price for a Michelin star restaurant and service is fantastic. My favorites were the dosa and the mung beans. The squash kurma was a bit bland compared to the other dishes. The cocktails were also incredible.“

“Great new place! Entrée's were pretty good. Really authentic. We had bhendi masala, vegetable jalfreji, and yellow dal. All were really yummy! Rotis were great too. Appetizers could have been a bit better. Service was really top class. Loved the ambiance.“

“We had lunch on a Friday last summer at Angel Indian on my friend's way to the airport. We weren't alone -- we saw other people with suitcases at the restaurant, and they seem used to it.The most memorable item was the chicken biryani. I really liked the bread that was encasing the biryani. It was buttery, soft, and delicious. I enjoyed ripping it off of the sides and having it with my other dishes. The biryani itself was quite spicy but didn't have a strong savory flavor otherwise. All of the chicken that we had came in really big pieces. It was tender and flavored well. The chicken vindaloo was quite spicy but not unbearably so. It was quite good. The garlic naan was a bit burnt but otherwise good. The cauliflower appetizer was fresh and hot, and the sauce was a bit sweet. The mango lassi was good -- tart and creamy.Overall this is a very solid option for Indian food and I hear that it's reasonably priced for the area. This isn't my favorite Indian food I've had, but it was quite good and I would come back to experience the biryani bread balloon.“

“Our experience at Anjappar was great! This was my second time dining here. I would highly, highly recommend the kuttu parotta. They also made the best fried idli I’ve had in my life!! We also enjoyed the chicken chettinad and the kizhli parotta. The chicken chettinad was flavorful and not overwhelmingly spicy. Overall, I really enjoyed the food. This is now one of my go-to spots!“

“When I walked in the restaurant the delicious aromas let me know I made a good choice. The food was absolutely amazing with vegan/vegetarian options and even a complimentary gluten free appetizer. The staff was welcoming and the service great. The prices were reasonable, but the best part was the delicious food!!“

“Giving it 4 stars only because certain items here are very sweet like Paneer Makhani. It tasted like candy to me. This is constructive feedback so you’re able to improvise on the Paneer Makhani and add more flavor to it than just sweetness.PS: They definitely know how to cook Indian food as other items tasted good from my previous experience.“

“This restaurant is amazing. The menu is all vegetarian, prix fixe, and also all you can eat. They also take into account other dietary restrictions. Everything was delicious from the appetizers to the dessert. Our waitress (Divisha) was incredible and explained every dish to us and was beyond attentive. This is a must visit if you're in the city and come hungry!“

“I highly recommend dining at Jazba for an exceptional culinary experience. My husband and I went there for dinner with our friends. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted by warm and welcoming staff. We were served by Mamta who was very knowledgeable about the menu and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great dining experience. We really liked their selection of cocktails. We tried Peepli, Kokum, Paan and Panch Phoran. All the drinks were great but I personally liked Peepli the best. It had a nice tangy flavor that went well with the alcohol. We ordered Basket Chaat and Empire Fried Chicken for appetizers and for main course we got Atrai Panneer, Daal Makhni, and Green Chilli Chicken along with their unique bread selection (appam, lacha parantha and roomali roti). The food was absolutely delicious and the presentation of each dish was impeccable. The beautiful utensils added a nice touch of elegance (see pictures I have added). Overall, it was a memorable dining experience and we will definitely visit again.“

“Man what an experience. I never felt pain all over my face until I had the Rouge Big Rowdy Sandwich. If you can handle spice get medium because Rouge genuinely made it impossible to enjoy the Sandwich. After a long break I tried my friend’s sandwich, and it was delicious. Mango lassi was sweet and cold and perfect for when my face was burning.8.5/10“

“Fun, casual atmosphere. The music is a bit loud, but not very. I bring headphones when eating alone but I also love the music. The chettinad curry with lamb was great. It's coconut based and pretty thick and fattening, but very good. I got it with butter free roti and it came with rice. The lamb was not too fatty and was very tender - really excellent! Might not get the curry again because it is so fattening with all the coconut milk, or maybe I can just avoid eating all the coconut milk curry and only eat some of it plus the meat. The chicken vepudu is good and interesting. I'm not sure if it comes without dairy by default or if you have to order it special with no dairy. It is a bit hot for me but if I take breaks between eating then it's not too hot. It comes with lightly fried batter, maybe lightly fried onions and other things, and the meat is tender. Would get again.Dietary restrictions: They have dairy free options“

Strongly recommend the Dabangg Vada Pav for all spicy food lovers, and the pani puri, the milkshakes, and the paneer tikka roll. “Truly one of the best flavorful biryani I’ve had in a long time! One of my friends had suggested this place, because I’d been craving an authentic biryani for so long…my years spent in Karachi, Pakistan where I’d been addicted to the aromas and the infused spices of biryani, I’d been craving for that taste…Being in NYC, I’d visited so many outlets, but couldn’t get that taste…upon my friend’s recommendation, I came to this place…what a hidden gem! Bhavaani, my attendant was truly knowledgeable about the different types of biryanis. She was truly exceptional and went above and beyond in providing professionalism and outstanding customer service! I ordered the ‘Rishta Lamb Biryani’ which indeed was bursting with so many flavors, and the spices were just perfect…I also enjoyed very much the nice glass of Chardonnay wine, which was a great touch with my meal!!!??All in all, it was such a memorable experience for me, and I will definitely recommend this amazing gem to all my family and friends…❤️❤️❤️“

“Tamarind Tribeca provided an exceptional dining experience. We started with the flavorful Lasuni Gobhi and Tandoori Mixed Grill, both of which were delicious and well-prepared. The Lasuni Gobhi and Dal Makhani (from the Mixed grill) was a standout, bursting with garlic and spice. For drinks, the Mango Cosmo was a refreshing choice, perfectly balanced and complementing the meal.Moving on to the main course, the Paneer Pasanda and Murgh Kohlapuri were good but not outstanding (maybe we expected more from a Michelin star). The paneer was rich and creamy, while the Murgh Kohlapuri was spicy and flavorful, showcasing Indian flavours. The Cucumber Raita, Lacha Parantha and Garlic Naan were exceptional - soft, fluffy, and perfectly cooked. Our server, Siddharth, provided excellent service, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The ambiance was upscale yet comfortable, ideal for a special meal or celebration.Overall, Tamarind Tribeca met our expectations with its delicious food, great cocktails, attentive service, and inviting atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an upscale Indian dining experience in Tribeca.“

“Diminutive space with down-at-heel appearance —but the urban decay is part of the charm. The samosa and aloo tikki were good. Both are potato heavy but herb seasoning is present and noted and flavorful. They’re large, hot and filling. Great option for cheap filling hot snack if you have cash. $3/ each. Cash only. The English spoken here is barebones strictly transactional English.Vegetarian options: Pretty sure everything here is vegetarian.“

“We've eaten there several times with various size groups and have always found the food and service to be excellent and what you would expect from a neighborhood place. Only caveat, people often mistake the door in the dining room for the entrance. The end table can be a little like a department store window during the holidays, lol.“

“Such an excellent place with wonderful food. The first time we went, a while ago, we just walked in and had dinner...now it appears you cannot do that as the place is small and packed. So do get yourself a reservation. Or if you haven't had the foresight to do that, you can take the same food home as I just did. I loved the dals, particularly the tadka and every biryani I have tried. The service is smooth and friendly, and my take out order came quickly and was so well-wrapped that it was still quite warm after a slow bus ride in chilly weather. I plan to go back as often as I can....(or take out) -------------------- Second and third time, I tried new things, just as great. I really like this place and will keep coming back. The staff is really welcoming.“

“Ordered the Charred Chicken Bowl, and I must say, it was phenomenal. It had a flavour that was unbeknownst to me in a bowl. The coconut ranch mixed with the habanero sauce, really do create a unique flavour profile. Also, the chicken marination was something that was brand new to me. Do give it a try!“

“Short review: Of all things, the best stuff here were the seafood dishes (blame Goa being a big fishing area I guess.) Excellent Goan Fish and Tandoori Shrimp among other things. As per most of my other recent reviews, I was at this restaurant a while ago with one of the groups. I in fact went there long enough that I don't really remember all the details. They specialize in Goan food; a subset of Indian food with Portuguese influences. We shared a bunch of dishes and the staff was friendly and sat outside. To drink, I had a Masala Chaas which was a bit different than the usual spots being greener. It had the usual buttermilk along with spices otherwise though it was almost a bit too spiced for my liking. I tried the Mango Lassi from someone else which was good and thick. Staff was friendly We ordered the following with the current prices listed afterwards: Achari Mushrooms- $10 Goan Fish (mahi mahi-) $19 Paneer Makhani- $18 Lamb Xacuti- $22 Goan Tandoori Shrimp- $22 Saag Chana- $18 Sukha Chicken- $20 Lamb Methi Curry- $22 Vegetarian Jalfrezi - $18 Caldeen Salmon- $19 In terms of the more Goan dishes, we skipped the vindaloo as the host didn't want something too spicy. The caldeen salmon was excellent with a mild coconut sweetness and the Lamb Xacuti also had some good coconut flavor along with some curry leaves. As with the salmon, the fish was also cooked really well in the Goan fish with a good kick as well which I appreciated. Of the Goan dishes, my least favorite was the sukha which had a good dry curry but the issue was that the chicken itself was also a bit dry. The tandoori shrimp being a highlight being perfectly cooked and just well spiced. In terms of the rest of the non-Goan dishes, they were above average with the saag chana being quite tasty. The methi had a good light bitterness from the fenugreek and the paneer in said makhani dish was cooked properly with a good texture and the sauce wasn't overly sweet as some versions of the dish are. My least favorite of the group was the jalfrezi which had a good mix of vegetables though I found it to be a bit bland compared to the rest. My least favorite thing even though it was tasty was the mushrooms. The flavor was good with some good sourness and they were well roasted but the portion was a bit skimpy. For breads/sides, we got the Garlic Naan for $5 and the Kashmiri Naan for $7. Both were warm and excellent with the garlic naan having not too much ghee. I wish there was a bit more nuts in the Kashmiri naan there and not just a whole lot of reddened coconut but at least it wasn't overly sweet and the portion size of both breads was good. They of course gave rice with all the curries. For dessert, I ordered the Mango Kulfi for $5. This was excellent with a good kick of saffron. It was properly dense as expected for kulfi as well. I'd recommend it. Solid spot. I can see why others love it and I would go back. Mid 4 bumped up for the friendly service and overall excellent dishes.“

“Came here for a late dinner double date as we were craving Indian food, and it really hit the spot! They have a wide array of vegetarian and vegan Indian classics. The menu is presented on an iPad which was interesting. I tried the kadai paneer masala (which tasted like a chicken tikka masala with paneer instead of chicken). The flavors were incredible. I also tried some of my partner's Hakka noodles with vegetables (Manchurian), which was filling and had delish. The interior is clean and decor was aesthetically pleasing. Service was kind and they let us stay past the official closing time.“

“I’ve had this place on my list for a while now. I loved trying the kebabs and sharab/drinks (virgin for me!). I loved the colonial-era decor with peacocks and carved wood. The appetizer portion sizes could be improved and the bathrooms could’ve been better too but nothing too bad. The food was really good! Here’s what we had:▪️Dahi ke Kebab (yogurt) 9/10▪️Sardarji Machi (Old Delhi fish) 9/10▪️Doori Kebab with Sheermal (goat) 10/10▪️Paneer Shashlik (cheese skewers) 6/10▪️Old Delhi Korma (mutton) 8/10▪️Bangin’ Baingan (eggplant) 7/10▪️Palak Paneer (spinach and cheese) 5/10?Chai raisin cake with rasmalai milk and chai ice cream 6/10?Mango Chutney (mango, pomegranate) 8/10ps> they’re halal and even brought out dates for the whole restaurant for iftaar!? “This was my first time trying Indian Food Ever, so I was a little nervous and scared! I arrived, and I was greeted by the lovely manager Tina, she geared us to the bar while our table was ready, and recommended some great drinks, it was less than a 5 minute wait! When I say the eggplant and garlic appetizer was out of this world! The flavors were so unique, and just outright delicious. We then ordered the tiger prawns, which was a surprisingly large serving, topped off by the mint and cilantro cream, I was licking my fingers, after, the pot of lamb with basmati rice, felt like we were eating in someones home eatings moms cooking, topped off by delicious milk dessert, I couldn't have picked a better place to dine. The service was great, all my food arrived right after the other, the servers were so helpful describing every dish, and breaking it down for me. “The restaurant was slightly off the tourist truck, but it was busy with people. The service is friendly but very slow compared to New York's ways of service. The place is simple inside, with nothing to brag about, but the food explodes with flavors. I ordered Vindaloo, which is a lamb dish, and it is so spicy and garlic naan break. The dish was delicious, and eat every bit of it. The sauce was so good i used naan to finish it off. I want to return and order more, but this time, i will ask for the authentic level of spice.“

“The service at this restaurant was great! We visited on a weekday night and easily found a parking spot right outside. When we walked in, we were given the option to choose our own table and the staff kindly dimmed the bright lights for a more comfortable atmosphere. Although only two visible workers on duty, they were incredibly kind and patient, despite our longer waiting time for food. Here are some examples of their exceptional service:- Our waiter waited patiently while we took our time to order and even explained the menu to us since we were not familiar with Indian cuisine.- When my dad accidentally spilled water on the floor, a waiter immediately came to clean it up.- The staff checked on us regularly and provided us with clean dishes and utensils after each course/meal.(Also there was a free refill for the rice)Overall, we had a great experience at this restaurant and would definitely recommend it to others.Dietary restrictions: My sister is gluten free, soy free, dairy free (she can eat yogurt though but she can't have cow's milk), can't have beef, can't have lentils, can't really have fruit, can't have msg, and some other stuff due to an immunity gut cleanse diet thing. This restaurant was able to accommodate her dietary restrictions nicely and she was able to enjoy her meals without worry.“

“Delicious food, great service, friendly waitress! The only „negative“ is that during the time we were there, I believe 30 pick-ups were done by bikers to bring food to the oeople‘s homes, which was a bit annoying and did not help the general atmosphere ( we were close to the door). But very qualitative food -given the huge amount of online orders by locals too.“

“Dear business owner, I had an incredible dinner today, ordered seamlessly from an online platform. The food quality surpassed my expectations, with the tawa roti being incredibly soft and delectable. It is evident that your talented chefs are devoted to providing exceptional service. However, it is important to recognize that your chef works tirelessly throughout the week and may experience fatigue or occasional frustration. I urge you to engage in open communication with your remarkable team, as they possess the potential to significantly elevate your business. It would be a grave mistake to overlook the immense value he brings to your restaurant with his superb management and culinary skills. Together, you can conquer new heights!“
