“Ok, so…I almost left a bad review due to communication errors. My order included egg foo young, in which the gravy was sour/spoiled tasting. I called to notify the restaurant, and originally their resolve was to send out a new gravy…which they did. I was very dissatisfied, as I had poured the gravy all over the dish and requested they remake the dish. My mom drove to the restaurant at 8:00p, immediately upon walking in they knew the order. Once she explained how the gravy was poured over the dish the chef, without hesitation, told her to sit while he remakes it. The dish was remade, new gravy, fresh rice, and a free soda were given. I’ve been a customer for over 30 years and the customer service has always extended beyond that to customer care. I’ll continue to drive past other Chinese’s food establishments to go to Happy Family.“

“That is some mighty fine lo mein, chicken to be precise. Honestly, straight up hits all the necessary flavor profiles at a good price for a phat quantity in the old school Chinese container. This might really be all you need to know. The egg roll, while actually an egg roll (?), is good but not quite exceptional. That being said, them having house mustard really ups' the ante. Looking forward to trying some Sichuan and Kung pao“

Ingredients are high quality -- no gristle chicken/ or slimy chicken. Great sauces -- no generic brown sauce that they throw on every dish. Recommend Beef Chow fun, Shrimp lo mein, chicken and broccoli, pot stickers, any soup, etc. Fabulous. I wish they were closer!“

“I would like to share a bit of a positive thing that happened. I went to Classic Asia (AKA BEST PLACE EVER) and ordered take-out Shrimp Pho soup. When I got there, the woman (who is already so nice) told me they didn't accept AMEX cards. Unfortunately, I didn't have any cash on me. So I said, "okay I'll be right back, I'll go grab cash!" Her reply was " No no, don't worry about it. Next time you order just tell us it's you! I couldn't believe it. I was like HUH?! How is someone being this kind ?!? My mother had an issue with the food and they were kind regarding the matter (note: food is fine, my mom is just fussy about the container it comes in). Thank you for providing excellent service, food, and understanding and patience.

When eating in, we're served with cutlery and plates. Portions are filling and I always leave feeling fulfilled. Go to is usually two shrimp rolls, egg drop soup, and shrimp lomein/fried rice.“

“Called ahead of time & someone told me the meal I wanted to order was gluten free. Ordered on door dash & they immediately called me to tell me it’s not gluten free and that they will make me my own sauce. They said it also comes with egg rolls that aren’t gluten free and they will put in a free soda to make up for the cost. Not only amazing service, but it was DELICIOUS & came so quick!

“I have lived near Rice King for around 2 years now and if we want Chinese food we order from there. The food is always great and never disappoints while it is very affordable. My son’s and I’s favorite thing on the menu is sweet and sour chicken while my husband’s is the egg rolls there. The sweet and sour chicken from Rice King has a massive crunch that never disappoints. The chicken is crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and perfectly coated in a vibrant, tangy sauce that balances sweetness and tanginess effortlessly. “The first meal I had here was great now the last visit has me cutting them off. I ordered Shrimp with lobster sauce but it came with (imitation) crab meat. Which why? I had to go back and exchange it and then I got dirty shrimp. They should use one of those cleaning machines or cut the whole tail off. If only they’d show more pride in their food. “I have moved to this area a few years ago and about a year ago I tried Chan's Garden and finally found my favorite Chinese Restaurant I've been looking for and have been going back every week or two. They do deliver with a 15 dollar minimum and that's sensible but I usually call to place a order that is always ready in 10 minutes. The people who work there that I think are the owners are always so friendly and polite making sure I have everything I need. The boneless spare ribs are the best I ever had and the General Tao's Chicken is out of this world. I also suggest the Chinese pizza and every type of egg rolls and spring rolls are another favorite of mine. I like to try different dishes even dishes I've never tried in my life and I surprised myself how good everything was being a picky eater. A lot of Chinese Restaurants started to use smaller containers which means smaller portions but at Chan's Garden the containers and portions are large and filled to the top with their great food. I'm older and I always forget to take pictures but the next time I go there I'll take some pictures and add them to this review so you can see for yourself.

Parking: It's in a busy strip store and I never had a problem finding a spot close to the restaurant.“

now i'm not gonna lie here folks, i'm not some sorta connoisseur when it comes to chinese food. but what i am a connoisseur of is eating. if i didn't enjoy something, i wouldn't go back. however, this place has me coming back time and time again!

their lo mein and fried rice options are delicious and are my typical pick ups from the joint. not to mention they're fairly priced too.

although, despite the tasty morsels these fine ladies and gents are chefing up. i got a slight bone to pick with them.

i almost always exclusively order delivery from them. and for some reason 9 times outta 10 they confuse my address with my neighbors. it isn't the worst thing in the world, and thank goodness my neighbor isn't some sorta jerk. but it'd be nice if this somehow corrected itself. not sure how, i've tried. believe me. so i guess it is what it is.

all in all though, delivery shenanigans aside here, this place has some tasty treats if you're lookin' for a solid stop that's well priced and conveniently located. so go give them a shot! no doubt you'll have a good time too.“

“Ordered a four piece chicken wings and a pint of chicken and broccoli. I’m very happy I ordered from this place I’m new to the area and didn’t want to drive all the way to my normal spot. I looked up a few different places and felt like they were all outrageously priced in this area, I really did not feel like cooking and was having a long day so decided to go with this spot because it was the best price compared to the places around. the chicken and broccoli was very good. The chicken wings were whole chicken wings not those little half wings, which I was happy about and the service was very quick within 15-20 minutes of ordering. Since moving from North Jersey to South Jersey several years ago, we have been trying to find a Chinese restaurant that knew how how make Chicken Chow Mein. Most make what I would call onion soup - it is all onions, with some carrots and very juicy. You NEVER put carrots in Chicken Chow Mein. The May Flower knows how make Chicken Chow Mein that tastes the way it should. Adding extra chicken puts this meal over the top!! We also like their Shrimp Lo Mein. We are anxious to venture further and try additional menu items. If you want Chinese food made the way it should be, this is the place for you. We had our food delivered and were very pleased with their own pleasant, efficient and quick delivery service.
