“I had to change my order after I received it due to it being made incorrectly. They fixed the problem with a slight hesitation. I did meet a friend and sit and talk at the over stuffed chairs area. The table should have been wiped and it wasn't, so I cleaned it before sitting and chatting with a friend. If it wasn't raining I would have visited with my friend in the parking lot.“

“It’s not often that I write reviews for big companies like Starbucks because, honestly, I don’t usually feel the need to. But the team at the Bordentown Starbucks deserves one so I finally took the time to sit down and write out my thoughts. I genuinely feel lucky that this is my local Starbucks. Every time I stop in I’m met with people who are kind, welcoming, and just… very good at what they do that It never feels forced.

The reason I finally decided to write this review though is because of Ria.

I have genuinely never met someone in customer service quite like her. She somehow manages to make every single interaction feel warm, even when the line is wrapped around the building. She remembers me, greets me with the kindest eyes, and always has something nice to say. And I know that probably sounds dramatic for someone handing me coffee…but it really does make a difference.

She has this way about her that almost makes you want to protect her? Like selfishly, I hope she never leaves because she makes this Starbucks what it is..but at the same time I find myself wondering if she’s still here because I know someone as wonderful as her deserves every opportunity that comes her way. She really is one of those people you don’t forget.

But I also don’t want this review to just be about Ria because she’s a reflection of the team around her…Everyone here is so genuinely kind and welcoming. She is just the bright star that I happen to interact with the most at the store

“I came across Palo de Azucar while I was in Trenton on business. I was looking for a spot where they sold not only quality coffee, but tasty brunch as well. If you're interested or already enjoy Spanish food, this is the place! The quality of coffee did not disappoint, but what stood out most of all was the food. I ordered a Dirty Chai Latte with Oat Milk and a California burger, simply delicious (ask for it cooked at a lower temperature if you like medium!) My mother ordered from the International Treats, and this is by far what took the spotlight for us. We had the Beef Colombian Empanadas and were beyond impressed, from the freshness of the food all the way to each and every flavor of the well-seasoned beef. The empanadas are crunchy/crispy on the outside, and every ingredient on the inside is hot flavorful. The Alcapurrias were a show stopper as well, the outside being fried Yucca and the inside beef. The service was quick, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the prices were comfortable and fair. I don't go out to eat much, but today I treated myself (and my daughter 💕) to their spicy Tonkotsu ramen, and it was hands down one of the BEST bowls I've ever had in my life! 🤯🔥 The broth was so rich and flavorful, with just the right amount of spice that totally cleared up my stuffy nose and warmed my soul. “The place has good ambiance and a nice outdoor space in the back. The service was quick. It’s a great spot to hang out and catch up with friends. I wouldn’t come here to get any work done however since it gets very busy and seating is somewhat awkward and limited. But the outdoor space is always empty and quiet if you need to knock out some quick work. Unfortunately, coffee here is mild and bland. I got plain macchiato and latte, and unfortunately the Starbucks on whitehorse tastes comparable or better. I almost always order ahead on the app and go through the drive-thru, and every time it’s seamless. Orders are accurate, easy to communicate, and ready when I get there. No confusion, no waiting around, no stress.

On the rare occasion I go inside, the store is clean and well-kept, which matters more than people think for a quick stop. I don’t usually order food, but when I have, it’s been fresh and exactly what you’d expect.

What really stands out is the consistency and the people. The staff always come across as friendly and genuinely pleasant—whether they’re just good at their jobs or actually enjoy being there, it shows.

But, they always get my orders correct. So, ultimately, it doesn't affect anything. They have skill games, too. If gambling is your thing.“
