“Yet another reason why 502 Bakery is my bakery of choice. Woke-up Saturday morning (4/12/2025) craving crumb coffee cake. Arrived at 502 Bakery a few minutes before 9AM, but when I approached the door the sign said, "Sorry We're Closed!" I did not realize they opened at 9:30AM. So I went back to my vehicle to wait 30-minutes until they officially opened. LOL... Wait?! Yes, the crumb cake is that good! Not more than 2-minutes later, I looked back from my vehicle to see the neon 'OPEN' sign on! “Visited here on a recommendation from a couple of people and I am SO happy I did!!! I may or may not have waited 45 minutes as it was a holiday weekend (eek!) but with how delicious everything was I'd do it all over again. The store is small, so only a handful of people can comfortably fit in there at a time.

I got so many things because I was too excited. My must trys are the cream puffs, cinnamon roll, glazed croissants, and potato turnover (think croissant dough stuffed with samosa filling!!). The cardamom bun was lightly sweet and unique, similar to the warm spices of a chai. The only thing I was disappointed in was the chocolate chip cookie, which had a crunchy texture instead of a soft and chewy one, but that's personal preference.

Despite being incredibly busy the staff was kind, accommodating, and I never once felt like I was being rushed. They made sure to answer any questions I had about the pastries and baked goods.

“Every beach day deserves a sweet ending.

After an incredible day near the Jersey Shore, my sister and I were looking for one last stop before heading back to North Jersey a place where we could grab something sweet for the ride home. Once again, Google pointed us in the right direction, leading us to Sweet in Belmar.

From the moment we walked through the door, we knew we had found something special.

The bakery sits in a charming little part of town, and inside was everything we didn’t know we were looking for. Between the beautifully decorated cupcakes and the nostalgic candy that instantly took us back to childhood, we couldn’t help but smile as we looked around.

The experience became even sweeter thanks to the owners. We had the pleasure of meeting the mother and daughter team, who were incredibly kind and genuinely excited to share the story behind their family bakery. We even learned they once lived in Delaware before returning to New Jersey to open their dream business. It’s always refreshing to meet people who pour so much love into what they do.

Of course, we couldn’t leave empty handed.

We picked up a Happy Birthday chocolate cupcake, a lemon cupcake, a red velvet cupcake, a princess cupcake, a strawberry crunch cupcake, and a mermaid cupcake.

The red velvet was my personal favorite rich, moist, and perfectly balanced. My sister absolutely loved the lemon cupcake. We also enjoyed the strawberry filled cupcake, and while we both wished it had just a little more cake to match the delicious strawberry filling and frosting, the flavor itself was wonderful.

As two people who grew up loving neighborhood bakeries, we’re always searching for places that remind us why local bakeries are so special. Sweet delivered exactly that. It wasn’t just about the cupcakes it was about the warmth, the conversation, the family atmosphere, and the obvious pride they take in every item they create.

If you find yourself in Belmar and you’re craving a cupcake, nostalgic candy, or simply want to support a wonderful family owned bakery, make this one of your stops.

We’ll absolutely be back. Some sweet treats are worth making the trip for, and Sweet definitely earned a place on our list.“

“Lakewood Shmura Matzoh Bakery is one of those places that, the second you walk in, you feel like you just stepped straight into Erev Pesach in the old country — only with better lighting and a lot more Lakewood energy. 😄
First of all, the smell. That warm, toasty, fresh-off-the-fire shmura matzah smell hits you and suddenly you’re like, “Okay… I’m ready to say Kol chamira right now.” The whole operation has that serious Yiras Shamayim vibe — you can tell this isn’t some “matzah factory,” it’s a matzah avodah. Everyone’s moving with purpose, like it’s a well-rehearsed seder of zerizus.
And if you come at the right time and get to see the process? Wow. You’re watching people working quickly, carefully, focused — and you’re thinking, “This is not a bakery, this is basically a live shiur in Hilchos Matzah.” The heat, the timing, the coordination… it’s like a whole chaburah in action, except instead of arguing on a Tosafos, they’re making sure every second counts.
The matzos themselves? Geshmak. Crisp, fresh, and clearly made with pride. You take one bite and you already know your Pesach is going to be on a higher level — like your seder table just got an automatic upgrade. And yes, it’s shmura — but it also tastes like it was made by people who actually care that it should be delicious, not just technically kosher.
Also, the location inside Excel Park is classic Lakewood: from the outside it looks like a regular industrial spot, and inside it’s literally kedushas Pesach headquarters. Hidden gem vibes. (If you know, you know.)
Bottom line: If you want real Lakewood shmura matzah, made with care, zerizus, and a healthy dose of that pre-Pesach excitement — this is the place. Just don’t blame me when you start feeling like you need to do bedikas chametz the second you leave.“

“If you’re in Lakewood and you have even a drop of a sweet tooth, Gelbstein’s is basically a ניסיונות station. You walk in “just to look,” and two minutes later you’re leaving with a box, a bag, and a third thing you don’t remember agreeing to… because the smell of fresh pastry makes you sign away your free will. 😄
First of all, everything is fresh. Not “fresh-ish.” I mean fresh fresh — like the danishes are still warm and the crumbs are already following you home. The rugelach/danish vibe is top-tier, the pastries are flaky in a way that makes you whisper “וואו” without realizing, and the challah is the kind that turns a regular Shabbos table into a whole simcha.
And it’s not just the classics — they’ve got fun stuff too (those cute cupcakes and seasonal things), so it’s perfect when you need:
a quick treat for the car (aka: “for later”),
something respectable to bring to a vort/Sheva Brachos,
or a Shabbos dessert that looks like you put in effort (בלי עין הרע).
Also, the place has a very heimish, local feel — you’ll bump into half of Lakewood in there, all pretending they’re “only buying one thing.” Sure. We all believe you.
Bottom line: delicious, consistent, and dangerous in the best way.
Highly recommend — just don’t come in hungry unless you’re okay with your wallet doing teshuvah afterward. 😄“

“My favorite candy/snack is chocolate covered pretzels and since going vegan/dairy free its been hard to find them anywhere. BUT these are the BEST chocolate covered pretzels just like i used to eat. i love them!! My favorite candy! You cant even tell they are gluten free too. Anyone, vegan or not, would love these.
