“Best Thai food in the area. I've ventured out into Madison, summit, Livingston, Chatham, Montclair searching for Thai cuisine that is close to Thai cuisine in Thailand, and I found it in Springfield. NJ. So far I've had drunken noodles, pad thai, avocado curry. Vegetarian and vegan friendly. Gluten free options as well. Saturday nights are the busiest so service may be slow. Recommend going other nights if you're in a hurry. If Saturday is your only night, it definitely is worth the wait!!“
“02/10/2024 We've been here a few times lately. The last time we came here a few weeks ago, my wife had the Duck Tamarind which was probably the best duck either of us had ever had. Pretty sure I had the Drunken Noodles which was also, excellent. Then... we decided to try 'take out' and again, my wife had the Duck Tamarind, but I being a lover of curry, opted for the Duck Curry. This dish too was easily as excellent, maybe better than the Duck Tamarind (my wife is shaking her head 'no'). I had the Duck Curry again 'today'... and it was even better than the time we ordered take out and I'll tell you why. The takeout Duck Curry came with the sauce all over the duck, which while still very tasty, made the duck less 'crispy'. Today (yesterday actually) enjoying the duck in the restaurant, the beautiful duck was place on some pineapple swimming in the sauce, but not on top, leaving all that wonderful duck skin so nice and crispy. Excellent duck either way... but better enjoying it IN the Bistro. Oh... you have to try their Thai Corner Sampler. (See picture below.) The service might have been a bit slow, but only because they were so busy. However, the waitresses were always cheerful and courteous despite running around like crazy taking care of all the customers. They are also a BYO, so MORE bonus points!!!“
“The food tastes amazing! I ate red curry with tofu and drunken noodles with tofu. Was very impressed! 4 stars was given because it didn’t have too much tofu (5 pieces) and the rice quantity is too little. I finished all the rice and still had 1/3 the curry left. For the taste I would definitely recommend and come back!Vegetarian options: Tofu as a protein.“
“Wonderful restaurant. Unprepossessing exterior, modest decor, fantastic food. Really, the food was delicious and everything was fresh. We had the pad thai with chicken, the red curry with shrimp, and curry puffs to start. The service was wonderful as well- our waiter was so polite. My friend had never had thai food and I am so glad she went here the first time because she now loves it!“
“Amazing food, awesome staff. Stopped here on the way to Billy's Midway (which is also an amazing place) for some dinner with a friend. We were both amazed by the quality of the food, and how nice the staff was. We will definitely be back when in the area.“
“The perfect dinner for a winter evening. My girl would not have the Indian flag dish - chicken Tika Masala anywhere else. And they have Thai Tom Yum soup. Freshly baked Nasn, attentive service, highly recommended!!!Parking: Come at 7, meters run out.“
“Delicious Thai food! Came here on a Monday night and it was not busy. I really like the interior decors and the vibe was relaxing. For a party of two, we got the pad Thai with chicken and the Poa Taek Spicy Seafood Tom Yum to share. Both dishes came out hot and well presented. The pad Thai was very flavorful and the noodles were perfected cooked. The waitresses there are all really nice. We enjoyed our time here and will highly recommend this place!“
“All the flavors were on point. The entree came with a small salad. Greens were *fresh*, tom kha soup was creamy with vegetables perfectly soft (not crunchy, not mushy), and pad see ew had plenty of sauce, just a little sweet like I like it.Service was kind and prompt. Great little spot!“
“Everything about Kai Yang was beyond 5 star. The food (Panang curry, Pineapple Chicken, Tom Kha soup, and vegetable spring rolls) was OUT OF THIS WORLD delicious. We especially loved the Pineapple chicken and Tom Kha soup. The staff was always refilling our water jug quickly before being asked and the food came out promptly. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable while it's a great feel for families, friends, or couples to enjoy! We will be returning and look forward to trying other meals here in the future. You cannot go to Montclair without visiting Kai Yang. Enjoy!“
“Stopped for a business lunch and was very impressed with the tastiness of the Thai food - everyone was very pleased with their lunch order. The owner suggested the sweet/sticky coconut rice and Thai custard (Mung bean pudding) for dessert. One of the best desserts I’ve ever tasted. Better than my Mom’s rice pudding. Would definitely come back again.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options“
“My friend and I went on a weeknight and it was very busy! I haven't had Thai in years and was not impressed at that time. This restaurant quickly turned all of that around! The Crispy Duck salad was phenomenal and so was the Thai curry chicken dish that I ordered. Beautiful ambience and great attentive service. We sent our compliments to the chef as every thing we ate was absolutely delicious. I haven't been excited to go back to a restaurant in a long time and I would definitely recommend to everyone!!!“
“We just ordered food from here and WOW! Best Thai food in the area by a long shot, everything is just so flavorful and cooked to perfection, even the rice was above average. You can tell they put the time and effort into their food! This is our new go to Thai place for sure!“
“i drove an hour and went here for the first time this past week and i can tell you it was worth it. customer service is very good they’re all welcoming and i felt comfortable and felt like i was at home. its a small restaurant, but the decorations and vibe to it is something i couldn’t miss out on. i didn’t even get to the food, the food was crazy. i don’t even like sausage but i had sausage in my food platter and it was so good. ima be coming back for sure, and i highly recommend 3 sons!“
“We have several Thai places around where I live in Maplewood that are 10 minutes away but we go out of our way to go to Summit Thai, the food and service are always great; it's worth the drive. We love their Maple Street dish, along with the pad thai and red curry.“
“We have been going to Penang on a very regular basis and we really enjoy the food and the service. The taste is close to pretty authentic Malaysian food and very tasty. The staff there is very friendly and is always welcoming. There is also BYOB so if you plan in advance, please do bring a bottle of your own wine to enjoy with your food. When in a rush I also do take away pretty often. The only downside is that you cannot make a reservation in advance especially for Friday nights so if you come at a peak time you could be waiting for a while.“
“My friend and I went here right before Christmas so the ambience was very cozy and warm. Elena (sorry if I got the name slightly wrong :P) served us. She was just wonderful, extremely sweet and always had a smile on her face! We had basil fried rice, crispy volcano shrimp, and Pad Kee Mao. All the dishes were yum but wish they were a bit more hot! For the desert, we went with melted choco lava with ice cream which was okay. The best part is it has BYOB. So have fun with your drinks as well!It was a great night overall. Thanks to Topaz!“
“We had a big family meal here. We ate kare kare, pork sinigang, lumpia Shanghai, pancit mixed, lechon kawali, turon and a Pandan drink. Food was really delicious and we left really happy. The staff were nice too. They had a nice conversation about the fruits on the painting on the wall behind our table with us.“
“Aroy D Thai Restaurant in Verona, NJ, stands out as an authentic Thai dining experience with a diverse menu that caters to vegetarians and vegans. While the restaurant may not always accommodate those with allergies, the variety of vegetarian options makes it a go-to spot for plant-based eaters. One of the highlights of Aroy D is their commitment to providing flavorful vegetarian dishes. I have enjoyed their Thai Green Curry, Thai Red Curry, and Penang Curry in the past, which were rich in traditional Thai spices and offered a delightful culinary experience. However, I must note that there has been a recent change in their policy, and they no longer agree to prepare these dishes without corn starch and soy sauce, limiting the choices for those with specific dietary restrictions and allergies.Despite this drawback - I miss having my curries - without allergen corn :( , there are still plenty of delicious options for vegetarians. The Summer Rolls are a refreshing and appetizing starter, filled with crisp vegetables and served with a flavorful dipping sauce. The Vegetable Fried Rice is a personal favorite, boasting a perfect blend of textures and tastes. Additionally, their Sticky Rice with Mango is a sweet and satisfying way to end the meal.Aroy D's Rolled Coconut Ice Cream is a delightful treat when available. The combination of coconut flavor and the unique rolling technique creates a visually appealing and delicious dessert that adds a perfect finishing touch to the dining experience. While it's disappointing that they may not be as accommodating to those with allergies, Aroy D Thai Restaurant remains a reliable choice for vegetarians and vegans seeking authentic Thai cuisine in Verona. The friendly staff and inviting atmosphere contribute to an overall positive dining experience, making Aroy D a place worth exploring for Thai food enthusiasts, especially those with a penchant for plant-based options.“
“My favorite restaurant! They have the best Thai food I’ve ever had. The owners are so kind and welcoming, creating the most lovely dining atmosphere. I really appreciate the fact that they have so many vegan friendly options as well. My favorite dish is the vegetable red curry, it’s out of this world!! Everything they make is incredible.“
“Had a great family dinner. Server was fast and attentive. She had glasses for our wine out as soon as we sat down. She returned after each course and met our special GF dietary needs without issue. Food was made exactly as requested, spice, no spice, etc. Chicken Pad Thai was excellent and chicken dumplings and sauce were very tasty!Don't understand why more guests don't dine-in here.I'll be back soon!Dietary restrictions: Great GF menu!“
