“Stumbled upon this welcoming pub after a long working day during UN Week in NYC. As my hotel was near Carteret was able to hop off the NYC bus and stroll right in. Trivia night was on and that was a welcome diversion - as was the prompt and friendly service and the cold beer! BTW, $5 Happy Hour is Monday-Saturday 5-8pm. I’m a wing snob so didn’t give them a high ranking but definitely in the zone of tasty and comfort food! Highly recommended!!!“

“Lee’s Tavern is a staple on Staten Island, and for good reason. The pizzas are among the crown jewels of Staten Island, and the bar itself is just a classic, cozy, hole in the wall kind of place.

We had fried calamari, an Italian shredded pork hero, a white clam pie, and a regular pie (half with sweet peppers). The calamari was great. It was fried perfectly and the hot marinara sauce was really good with a nice kick. The pork hero was very basic, and though it lacked a bit in flavor, the ingredients all tasted very fresh and the cheese was melted very nicely, I enjoyed it quite a bit. The pies at Lee’s speak for themselves. The white clam pie is delicious, it’s a perfect balance of garlic, cheese, and that classic Italian clam taste. The regular pie is also just so fundamentally perfect. It’s crisp, thin, and the sauce is perfect.

The service at Lee’s is also exceptional with extremely friendly staff. My only complaint would be that Lee’s is cash only, though they do have an ATM inside. The pizza more than makes up for the cash only rule though.“

“I was recently in New Jersey for a concert and staying at a hotel for a few nights. My friend and I were looking for a quick bite to eat nearby. We decided to go to this place on a whim and it turned out to be one of the best decisions ever. The atmosphere was incredible. Everyone in there was so cool and the bartender was fantastic and very helpful. She recommended the Jack Daniels burger so we both went with it. When I tell you we both dreamed about this burger for our entire trip. We ended up going back to this place two more times. It was such a great local place with great people. I can’t recommend it enough. If you’re ever in the area go there and get the Jack Daniels burger. Talk to the locals. Have a pint and enjoy the vibes. 5/5. 10/10. Incredible.“

The drinks were good as well! The prices were reasonable! I’ve visited once before but this may become one of my local favorites.

The Bartender Raina/Rayna was such a great vibe! Her customer service was A1, she made sure we were ok, was ok with any substitutions we asked for.“

“Great food. Tiny place and if you go late on certain days you may not get a table. Staff is hit or miss. One day I witnessed three young girls working there standing behind the bar talking to each other and on their phones rather then tending to the customers. I do have to give support to the one young lady who eventually had to run the whole place herself till someone came to cover the bar. They should always have more than one person working the main dining area. If you want a good bar pie come here.“

“As a Union Beach Resident, I just have to give a shout out to this awesome local pub. Although I visit there often and it has become like a second home where you visit family when you enter, the NYE celebration last night was so fun! The pre fix menu was full of options and the pricing was so fair. The drinks are always served cold and well prepared. Renee and Courtney were up beat and on point and made the evening even more enjoyable. It would not have mattered though who was behind the bar as the rest of the team there are all amazing and professional! If you are in the Bayshore area and are looking for a place to visit stop by and check them out!! BTW, the burgers are really the best in the area !!“

“Walked in this weekend for the first time and the female bartender was super friendly and helpful! We just wanted to stop in for a quick app and a beer. We ordered the fries and 2 rounds of beers and the check was super reasonable. We will definitely be back when it is nicer out to sit outside. They have a variety of things on the menu, a pool table, shuffleboard table and electronic darts.“

“I was made to feel very uncomfortable here. Too many people/strangers asking personal questions. Don’t know why the whole bar wanted to know where I was from. Then a peculiar man kept saying “she’s from Jersey city” to the whole bar. I was then told to “be careful here” by one of the customers. Some other odd things were said to me so I decided to leave. The pizza reminded me of something you get at a carnival. The wings are tiny and hard. Although she was quick with service I noticed the bartender never made eye contact with me and after awhile it seemed on purpose. I do not recommend this bar, not sure why it suggests that above when I clicked NO several times. Really cold beer is all they have to offer.“

There was a bit of a language barrier but the staff was very helpful and offered me a menu in English. I ordered the salmon and I also had the spare ribs to go. “Exceptional customer service and the entrees were superb. Our servers were both excellent, Andres and Vivian and their hunky manager, whose name we did not catch. The drinks were very well made, with nice presentation. My wife, Patricia, had a Coconut Mojito and I had two Lemon Martinis (well blended) refreshing and tasty. Order the Calamari as an appetizer. Our entrees were the salmon and the cheese steak. Everything was prepared with a Columbian flare! Ole! You and a culinary delight.“

“This place is a solid bar, I came here on a friday night for a little nite cap around midnight and overall I had a decent time. The bar is a no frills place with three sports tvs, a juke box, at least 15 seats by the bar and some other chairs around the rest of the place. There is also shuffle board and two darts with a scoreboard which is fun. They have a great beer menu from Blue Moon to Angry Orchard, Corona, White Claw, High noon, etc. for only 5 bucks [they have at least 8 beers on tap for only $5 too]. I also saw a lot of whiskey and vodka options if you wanted to do shots or mixed drink [$7 for a shot]. The problem is the shot glasses are so small, it doesn't resemble an ounce and a half which is standard size in other bars, I felt like the plastic cup they gave me reminded me of cough medicine sizes. The bartender was super nice and friendly, he talks with most patrons and makes sure the place doesn't get too rowdy. However my fiancé felt like he was fishing for tips when he would give you a 5 dollar bill back as change. When I came there was a girls birthday with her friends and she was able to put out sandwiches and catered food of her own. I kinda felt guilty invading her space but it was nice to see that the bar lets you do your own thing. The crowd seemed fairly mixed crowd when I came, from college frat boys to young girls in their 20's or groups of men in their 30s and 40s. I did feel it was a little crowded but that seemed more based on cliques then the space itself. In terms of food, they do sell chips nuts and a tombstone pizza but there isn't much space to eat unless you sit at the actual bar. I think if this place rearranged the furniture and had an outdoor backyard they could successfully have more dining. I would definitely come back here for another night cap or to watch a sports game.“

Down to earth crowd just all out to have a good time it was a cool vibe a lot of smiling faces .. the chicken wings were off the hook the drinks were good . It is the dive joint you want to check out for sure. They also sell take out. After a hard week at work you can go to this spot and chill among some very Down to earth folks . Other bars right down the block plays music just as loud and stays open just as late. Besides the one incident last year, there aren’t any brawls or fights that happen there. Most ppl that go there are regulars and know each other. To the ppl complaint about it being loud in open late, you have the power to move to another place you knew where you were moving to when you moved there tankys has been there my whole lifeThe drinks are strong and cheap, the vibe is chill, older crowd, when they have a DJ the music is good, u can bring food in, and they have a lil pool table and a parking lot. I been going to tankys for year and never had a bad experience. Occasionally the bartenders be too busy to get to me and I’ll get tired of waiting and leave but that’s all rare.“

“I had awesome experience here the food was great good atmosphere and I must say the service was top notch our bartender for the night was a lady named Torrie the drinks where great definitely give the Hennessy and Pineapple a try that's one of her signature drinks you won't be disappointed she's was also very attentive to costumers needs The food was very enjoyable and fairly priced the the rib entrée with mashed sweet potatoes and brocolli was the excellent full of flavor and the ribs where tender with a great sauce I also had the garlic parmesan wings extremely flavorful and crisp done to perfection I was impressed so I asked to meet the chef and I was greeted with a smile thank you Chef Terry and crew I will definitely be returning and I recommend this place for you will have a great experience thanks again to the Bogarts crew“

“For a hotel, it certainly was refreshing. Traveling a lot you don't always get the best food selection.

With that said, the crispy Brussels sprouts, OH-EM-GEE. Hear me out. They were the best thing I think I've eaten...in well, ever. It wasn't just the whole Brussels sprout itself, it was mostly the outer skins that was coated in seasonings, oil, and crispy. They were SO GOOD!

I definitely recommend the French Onion soup as well, we had that twice. 😋“
