We decided to go to this place on a whim and it turned out to be one of the best decisions ever. The atmosphere was incredible. Everyone in there was so cool and the bartender was fantastic and very helpful. She recommended the Jack Daniels burger so we both went with it. When I tell you we both dreamed about this burger for our entire trip. We ended up going back to this place two more times. It was such a great local place with great people. Sure, places like this won’t have the same vast selection as a Total Wine or Joe Canal, but the owners have always been able to order me anything I need and will even stock it regularly if it gets a following. “My wife and I have been patrons and huge fans of Chez Catherine for nearly 30 years. Last Friday, we happily celebrated our 39th anniversary there with another very fine lunch. It's always a pleasure to be greeted like old friends by owner Stephane Bocket and seated at what we think is the best table in the tastefully decorated, elegant restaurant. We both chose the prix fixe menu. For starters, my wife had the always terrific moules and I a lovely mixed salad. We both chose beef bourguignons for our main course and asked Stephane to suggest wine from the by-the-glass list. His selections of a chablis for my wife and pinot noir for me worked perfectly with the outstanding bourguignons. We finished by sharing a delicious Baba au Rhum, prepared by Stephane at tableside. Dining at Chez Catherine is always a special event to us. Everything about it is first class. If you are unfamiliar with Chez Catherine, it has been one of New Jersey's Top 5 restaurants for nearly 40 years. We recommend it highly and urge lovers of fine dining to not wait but reserve a table NOW. We're sure you'll find it to be as special as we do.“

“Recommended by locals so we stopped for lunch. They had several lunch specials to choose from and we had a hard time choosing from all the great choices. Their specials included salad and drink and both of ours were $20 each. We had Penne Vodka and the 4 cheese baked Rigatoni. Dave took great care of us and was a good time. Both dishes were excellent and were large portions. Definitely a great meal and the locals were absolutely correct about it.“

Although I visit there often and it has become like a second home where you visit family when you enter, the NYE celebration last night was so fun! The pre fix menu was full of options and the pricing was so fair. The drinks are always served cold and well prepared. Renee and Courtney were up beat and on point and made the evening even more enjoyable. It would not have mattered though who was behind the bar as the rest of the team there are all amazing and professional! The drinks were very well made, with nice presentation. My wife, Patricia, had a Coconut Mojito and I had two Lemon Martinis (well blended) refreshing and tasty. Order the Calamari as an appetizer. Our entrees were the salmon and the cheese steak. Everything was prepared with a Columbian flare! Ole! You and a culinary delight.“

“We went on a Thursday. Happy hour wine for me and Sagria for my friend. Quite a few appetizers for $9 but we didn't try those. We opted for Burrata shared plate and a Pepperoni Flatbread. The Burrata plate was delicious, came with sliced baguette and pesto and a hummus drizzle on the plate for dipping. The Pepperoni Flatbread was thin crust with hot honey, very tasty however could have been baked a little longer, Service was excellent.“

The live bands that perform on the weekends always sound great and add to the environment of what you'd expect from a dive bar. This bar is cash only, but not to worry as they have an ATM. Vanessa, Rachel, Ava, Nichole, Lexi, Alexa, and everyone else that works behind the bar always make you feel welcomed whether it's your first time here, or you're a longtime regular.“
