Why don't these local roasters sell sample packs, allowing you to still purchase a pound of beans, but separated into small batches with samples of each bean type? This would allow me to quickly figure out which bean I want to try without having to buy a single large bag and take a month to go through coffee I don't really like before trying the next type . . . “One of the best taco places In NJ right after you cross the Verrazano Bridge We were on our way back to VA, we were craving some authentic Mexican food and homemade guacamole which I love so much We didn't choose wrong. “Definitely a five star experience!!! We arrived just before happy hour ended (4-5:30) and they were kind enough to place a quick order of oysters!!! They were super fresh and delicious... favs were west coast (sorry NJ). Next, came the Parker rolls!!! Probably my favorite part of the meal, but then again, who doesn't like homemade, freshly baked rolls with buttered top and a touch of salt!!! Because everything looked so good, we opted for a bunch of other appys to start! The New Zealand angus beef bites were served with horseradish aioli and a Parker roll, the halloumi cheese was accompanied by orange slices, prosciutto, radicchio and dehydrated olives. The octopus was spectacular... crispy with romanesco sauce, fried chickpeas, cilantro and paprika breadcrumbs. Of course, we had to also try the OHS mussel pot... with chorizo, saffron, garlic cream, sun dried tomatoes... and an herbed garlic roll on top!!! LOVED THEM ALL! It's not often that so many different, but complimentary flavors are presented in each dish!!! We could have stopped our meals there and would have been pleasantly satisfied and full! Next, we chose a couple of the sirloin sandwiches with fries, and the squid ink pasta with Calabrian chili and Meyer lemon breadcrumbs!!! All was very good. The evening was finished with 3 of their delicious desserts... the lemon meringue tart was the perfect sweet with a pucker. The molten dark chocolate cake was decadent. And the trio of gelatos were each so uniquely flavorful and delicious! Wow!!! Given that 100 steps is a BYOB, it makes everything even more affordable! We had spectacular service in this beautiful restaurant with amazing food! It was quite a special evening!“

“The Carriage House Restaurant is literally steps from the PaperMill Playhouse. Great to stop in prior to a performance. The atmosphere is best described as "cozy and rustic". I've stopped in about 2-3 times for drinks and appetizers. The food has always been very tasty. Little on the pricey side. On a positive note, you're only a few steps away from the theater. As of now, I've had Chicken Sausage Appetizers and a Steak Quesadilla. Nice wine and cocktail list. We've enjoyed their wine and cocktails on a previous visit. In December '23, I had an issue making reservations. Left two telephone messages and never received a call back. I couldn't even make a reservation on Opentable or Resy. We stopped in and informed the hostess of the issue. Anyway, we ended up eating at the bar. The Carriage House Restaurant does offer Cabaret and Murder Mystery shows.“

The crab cake was perfection, the owner Victor (what a gem of a man!) suggested the meatball appetizer, the cheesecake and bread pudding…GET THESE! The bread pudding was one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten. Their Taylor Ham, Egg, & Cheese was really really tasty, and the Taylor Ham had a wonderful crisp to it accompanied by a lovely crunch around around the edges. The best of the two was the Corn Beef Hash Breakfast Wrap! The Corn Beef was extremely flavorful and the potatoes they added to the wrap were seasoned and tender. The Corn Beef Hash Breakfast wrap is an exemplary to-go breakfast item. I thoroughly enjoyed both! The staff is really kind, and the customer service was amazing. The ambiance is impeccable as well too, makes you want to sit down and enjoy your breakfast. I would HIGHLY recommend, Village Street Eatery, to anyone in the Maplewood area. They let us taste the sauces and we went with the walla, it's super good!\\n\\nThey didn't take long to prepare our lamb burger, beef burger (medium cooked ?) and our chicken wings, along with a side order of fries and a side order of sweet potato tots.\\n\\nThe burgers were delicious, juicy but not too messy, with a very nicely cooked thin patty full of flavor. “I visited Kona Grill on a bustling Saturday, eager to try them out based on recommendation from a friend.The night kicked off with a mixed bag of cocktails; the New Old Fashioned, revamped with Jim Beam Vanilla Whiskey, was a delightful twist on a classic, boasting a unique texture that impressed me. Similarly, "The Rum Drink" was an excellent summer refreshment—light yet satisfying. Unfortunately, not all drinks hit the mark. The Electric Lemonade was overly sour, reminiscent of Warheads candy, and the Cucumber Southside was dominated by an overpowering cucumber flavor that eclipsed its mojito roots.Appetizers were a similarly varied affair. The Chicken Satay was adequate though unremarkable compared to Thai versions elsewhere, and it suffered from a stingy portion of otherwise tasty peanut sauce. The Fire Dragon Roll, meant to dazzle with its flamed alcohol-infused sauce, ended up a disaster as the sushi absorbed too much of the vodka(?), significantly detracting from its enjoyment and effectively ruining the dish.Main courses painted a more positive picture. Although the 10oz Prime Rib, which I requested medium, arrived well-done, it was still enjoyable enough not to warrant a return to the kitchen. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the Macadamia Nut Chicken—a unique and flavorful dish with a wonderfully crunchy macadamia crust and a delectable sauce that both my companion and I found exceptional.Dessert was a high note on which to conclude our meal. We shared a slice of carrot cake, a perfect balance of flavors with just the right amount of sweetness, and mercifully free of raisins—a common pet peeve. It might just be the best carrot cake we’ve had in a restaurant.Service was exemplary and even a manger stopped by to see how everything was going and comped the carrot cake for us for the birthday. The interior was fine but the window seat we sat by had a lot of bird poop on the windows when lookout. Just made a note on that.Kona Grill offers some standout dishes, particularly in the main courses and desserts, the inconsistency in the starters and some drinks could be improved. The venue has potential for a great dining experience if it irons out these kinks.“

“Solid Poke place. Food is fresh & customizable with a decent variety that you might expect for a Poke place including a few extras (Mango, Seaweed salad, and plenty of sauces). Service is fast and accurate to your order. I've never had an ingredient missing nor any complaints of less than expected. The store itself is barebones minimal decoration with some wall attached table tops to eat at and not much else but I hardly eat in and prefer takeout.One minor issue is the 16 Oz bowls they use can be quite difficult to separate the lid from the bowl. It's not normally a prolonged problem with some work but I've had a number of instances with older adults not being able to remove the lid because of the lack of any way to grip the lid or bowl separately. This could be remedied with a simple tab on the lid and bowl but they just don't have it.Either case, Orgreen is a solid take out place with decent ingredients and nice variety. Service is fast & accurate. Each meal will fill you up nicely.“
