The server made a delicious raspberry iced tea which wasn't in the menu just because I ask. Food and drinks came out quick and was very good.Parking: Lots of people in the strip mall and didn't seem like much parking. Even the strip mall next door was packed.“

“First time at River Twice.Met up with some favorite friends from my American Water days. Interesting approach to a menu. There was a $75 fixed tasting menu and then a set of optional extras. I went with the soft shell crab special and everyone else did the burger (since we specifically came on burger Monday). This is a cozy small restaurant in the heart of Philly. We were seated at the counter and were able to watch the food prep. Pretty cool. Service was excellent. Food was outstanding.Plenty of food to satisfy your hunger in the tasting menu alone, but I am glad we added the extras. The starter was raw Maine scallops in a crème sauce.Unbelievably good! This was followed by the NJ sushi rice with smoked steelhead.Well made, filling, and slightlyunremarkable. The mackerel, steamed cabbage and sweet potato made up for it with a perfect bite of these three ingredients! My soft shell crab was very unusual, in a good way, with an interesting creamy sauce and pickled onions. The burger was outstanding!! Lots of nuanced flavors going on. Finally, the winter citrus creamsicle was fun, creative, light, and the perfect ending to a super cool dining experience. Highly recommend River Twice for the adventurous eater!“

“We used to go pretty often when we lived there before the fire so many years ago but went again recently. The outdoor space and nice and comfortable, the food was really tasty and service was good as well. A nice place to get some good food.“

“The food was amazing! Although they had a children’s menu, we decided to order a plate for the kids to share. We ordered the mussels (appetizer), slow cooked pork chop, braised beef short ribs and the roasted salmon (mains). Everything was delicious. The pork chop and beef ribs were extremely tender and juicy. The risotto that came with the beef ribs was full of flavor. We cleaned the plates and my kids (who are picky eaters) ate everything, including the vegetables.Not only was the food great, but the service was exceptional. The staff was super friendly and attentive. Our server (regret not asking for his name) stopped by several times throughout our meal to make sure everything was good and to check if we needed anything else.After paying our bill, we were on our way to get our car and found out it was towed because we parked in a no parking zone. (Beware of the signs and read carefully.) Not knowing what to do, we went back to the restaurant for help. That’s how friendly and approachable the staff was. They all helped by looking up phone numbers for the Philadelphia parking authority (I’m not from Philly), helping me call a cab and staying with us (even though they were closing) until our cab arrived.My kids and I are now back at our hotel and extremely grateful for their help. I never really write reviews, but I had to write this one. My first trip to Philly was definitely an unforgettable experience. “Great service great food and was in great taste. Not ideal for large groups but we managed to get Reservations for a party of 8 and was seated in the back near the kitchen. They had fantastic craft drinks, delish foods to share like family style and great ambience! Located in a cute neighborhood although it was a little scary to drive to in very narrow streets that are one way, so glad we Uber-ed there since the street parking was a bit cramped as well. Highly recommend!“

“A great place. Been open many years. Recently on TV for their Anniversary. Sometimes crowded but they are quick and move fast. You can get breakfast sandwiches all day which is a plus. Coffee very good, another plus. Only takes cash, no big deal to me. Grew up in South Philly and local neighborhood places the same. It took a long time for our food to come out, due to the tables turning over at the same time and the kitchen got slammed. “Stopped in Fireside Family Resturant around 930 AM on a Monday. Place was about 15% full. The hostess seated me and asked if I wanted anything to drink, and by the time I got settled in my chair, my water and coffee (2.99) arrived. I ordered the Creamed chipped beef on rye toast and hash browns (11.99) from my very pleasant waitress. A very full plate of food arrived fairly quickly. I was a little disappointed with the food. First, the good things, the cream was the perfect taste and consistency over the diced up rye toast, so the toast doesn't get soggy, but there was a serious lack of chipped beef. I literally got 1/3 of the way through before I tasted some meat. Only had a small amount of the potatoes and they were OK. Staff was very attentive in keeping my coffee topped off. Overall a decent meal, except for the lack of chipped beef in the mix.Parking: Parking around the building“

As a couple, we could only try so much of their offerings.Last night was with a large group, which turned out to be fabulous because, thanks to our sharing of all their appetizers and entrees, I had the opportunity to sample much of their menu.I would be remiss if I didn't mention the bartenders' skill and passion in mixing up any cocktail you may wish to have.The wait staff was attentive, accommodating, and professional.The food; lamb tartare, red beet carpaccio, goose/foie gras terrine, duck breast, baked fluke, spinach/ricotta gnocchi, cheddar stuffed hush puppies, double cheeseburger, and the 26oz bone-in ribeye. Everything was amazing, even the 2 desserts and cheese plate, which I only tasted because....too much. We did, for the record, ask for seconds on the duck breast, as it was simply superb.Now, I must say that the wine list, for such a fantastic food line up, was very disappointing. “First time eating here with group of colleagues. Was enjoyable! We came during a day where it was a fixed menu literal table spread. We had the choice to eat with fingers or with utensils and we all opted to eat with our fingers. There's something enjoyable about being encouraged to eat our food with our hands. Obviously a messy meal but worth it. A garlic fried rice was laid on the table topped with vegetables and Proteins were chicken, pork and fish.Parking: 6pm Weeknight parking in South Philly. Enough said. I feel like if you're willing to park, say, 10 minute walk away versus being super close you will have better luck with parking.“

“I visited for my birthday last March, because in my Google search it showed as kid friendly and all day breakfast. However, upon arrival the restaurant changed its menu and no longer serves all day brunch. But let me tell you the food was Absolutely Delicious and the staff were fantastic! The Chef even brought food out to our table and offered to take a group photo for us. I highly recommend the Mozzarella sticks which are more like egg rolls, the Bang Bang Chicken! “This was our second time at Max's Seafood and we really enjoyed our food both times. Delicious Oysters. The Chilean Sea Bass was so yummy the first time, I got it again. It did not disappoint!
