“I regret giving so many other places 5 stars, as now the meaningfulness of the 5 stars i give to skylark is Diminished. If you are looking for a review telling you to go the Skylark - look no further, this is it. Incredible food, diverse menu with variety, high quality ingredients, not to mention reasonably priced in a beautiful atmosphere. Perfect place for a special occasion or a brunch meet up. Wish I could give more stars, guess I'll just have to settle with giving them my business.“
“As soon as you walk in, you are struck by (a) how clean this place is, and (b) the fun 50's decor. Love the photos and other memorabilia of Elvis, Lucy, the Rat Pack, and other icons of the 1950's and 60's. The overhead TV plays 50's shows like The Andy Griffith Show. It's a fun place (see photo). The food is very good. I opted for my go-to breakfast sandwich --- egg whites, Swiss cheese, and turkey bacon on a toasted bagel (photo). It compared favorably with most of the bagel shops in the Princeton area. A side of fruit was fresh and tasty. Our server, Sue, was friendly and helpful but not intrusive --- a real pro!The sign outside of the building says "Monmouth Junction Kitchen," but it is definitely a diner. Try it -- you will be very happy you did.“
“This cute little local favorite was a delight. I got stuck here in Ford, NY due to a break down with my truck so I decided to try the local cafe! I loved it, food was good and fulfilling while I listened to the local chatter from the patrons! The service was awesome and even the cook came by to say "hi"! (Hard to find this in So Cal) If you're in the area and want something that kinda takes you back to a simpler time I think you'll like Colonial Restaurant“
“It's the perfect diner. The service was AMAZING the food was great and it had that classic diner feel.Special mentions for the amazing care for gluten allergies (the reason we found it initially) and our server who was awesome.Dietary restrictions: Great for those with celiac and need gluten free options“
“I had to stop by to write this review! I ordered the honey garlic and the honey buffalo chicken wings for the Super Bowl and boy I wasn’t disappointed!!! It was finger licking good and I was so surprised that we had no left overs and our guest was inquiring about this place because it was so good. The wings were cooked to perfection, not hard or burnt under the sauce just a nice crisp that made everything so enjoyable. The owner was super sweet and the round tray that she put everything in was very professional. I’ll definitely be coming back to try some more food on her menu along with the wings. Thank you so much because of you guys my party was a success! I’ll see you again sooner than later.“
“Had food delivered it was awful!!! Even hot chocolate was bad all water. Chicken salad terrible even roll was stale even after I ordered rye bread. Chicken soup was really bad. I wouldn't recommend anything Even the dessert was bad bad doesn't quite cut it it's terrible like everything else I got from this place if I wasn't so sick I would have taken it back and demanded all my money back unfortunately DoorDash doesn't let me get on my money back I would never go here again stress never“
“Perfect little diner-- probably one of the best kept secrets of its town.Try the homemade bread pudding! I had that because they were out of the Flan (betcha it's fantastic).Colorado Omelet was delicious.Service was swift and friendly!“
“I went to Henry’s Diner during the lunch rush and waited outside on the line. While the line looks intimidating, it goes by pretty fast and we were seated after a 20 minute wait. The ambience here is great because the windows bring in so much light and they have customers put their bags towards the wall. The music choice gave off a retro American vibe without being distracting and the service was fast and friendly.I ordered the nutella crepe and added bananas (which costs extra) and my partner got a sandwich. The sandwich was larger and more filling but about the same price. The crepe is really thin (which is expected of a crepe but not enough to be filling). My tip would be for you to share two dishes, one more filling and another more for dessert, as we did.One meal swipe covers $12 and that comes with a drink of coffee or tea. They had a sign that says meal swipes are guaranteed till 5pm.Overall, I think the food was pretty good but ambience was the best part.“
“The Golden Corner Diner in Bound Brook is a solid choice for a classic diner experience. The food is fresh and delicious, exactly what you crave from a diner. Everything from juicy burgers to fluffy omelets seems to be made with quality ingredients. The staff at Golden Corner gets a thumbs up too. They're attentive and friendly, making sure your coffee cup stays full and your order is correct. They even shine when it comes to handling large groups. The diner can seat a surprising number of people, and the staff manages to keep things running smoothly even during a rush.Overall, while Golden Corner might not be the most innovative diner out there, it delivers exactly what it promises - delicious food, friendly service, and a comfortable atmosphere. For a reliable and enjoyable diner meal, Golden Corner is a solid four-star option.“
“We've eaten at sunny side up diner several times for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We've taken out too.The food is good. The chicken quality could be a bit better. The staff and chefs are great. One time the chef showed me an ingredient he used to make something I ordered.Small parking lot and street parking.Parking: Small parking lot“
“Milltown Diner is an exceptional old school diner. We stopped in for breakfast and were greeted immediately. Everyone at the diner was very friendly. The service was excellent as was the food. Everything was hot and fresh. The coffee was quite good. Everything tasted homemade. I recommend the corned beef hash. All the prices are reasonable and the portions are generous.Free limited parking on the street.“
“I had an overall wonderful experience at Colonial Diner. The food was better than your average diner and the atmosphere was very notable. I spoke to who I believe to be the manager there about the place and he pointed out the original floors and tiles in the building. The diner had a long bar stretched across the building with multiple TVs playing movies. The staff was very friendly and my order was taken and came very quickly. I showed up about a little over an hour before closing and the restaurant did not have many people in there. The parking lot was large and had many spots. I came on a Thursday night and the staff was very quick everything was done almost immediately after sitting down.“
“Love stopping by this local diner to get Gyro's! Also a great spot for panini's and fries. Great spot to bring the family or just hang out with friends and catch up over a yummy meal. Coming from Scotch Plains, so glad it's nearby in Westfield!“
“I primarily use them for office lunches. Their hoagies are really very good, and I would consider them a value. This is usually my go to when I'm buying lunch for the office. The food is always so fresh and tastes great. Lisa is awesome and always goes above and beyond. I love supporting small businesses, and they make it so easy to keep coming back. Great food, at a great price AND great service - you can't beat it! Breakfast sandwiches and platters are great too.“
“I’m a lifelong Vicki’s customer and I absolutely love this diner. But on DoorDash the price for a side of fries is $12 which is absolutely insane. I feel like the prices in person and online for this diner keep increasing and I was always fine with it because I support small businesses and the pandemic was hard but small stuff like soup and fries should not be over $10. If that’s the case, I can’t keep eating here. Diners are supposed to be pretty cheap and now we spent over $30 a person for lunch.“
“Very family-oriented, but children and conversations can sometimes make it tough to hear the person talking right next to you. The food is always good, and the portions are generous. The servers are very attentive and friendly. Definitely a go-to place when I’m in the mood for a little taste of home.“
“When you're so busy and on the run you have to stop down the West end in Plainfield New Jersey to at least try white star diner the only diner in Plainfield as a matter of fact but again you can't go wrong one thing about the star it sounds bright“
“We came to this spot for lunch. This spot was recommended to us by a friend. Well, it was very nice. The crew were very polite and we had a great feeling. The food was just great. We enjoyed every moment and we shall absolutely come back again. Keep it up.“
“We waited at our table reviewing the menu, literally next moment we were ordering coffee and our menu items. Wonderful service and great food !!Parking: Parking lot is a narrow lot minimally accessible spaces, however it’s free and there’s additional spaces on the sides and back of the building“
“I frequent Manny’s Diner 2 to 3 times a week with a friend because the food is good, the atmosphere is great and the waitresses are great. Never have I had a problem until I noticed that they charge 3% when I used my debit card. I told them that was illegal in NJ. They said they are aware of it but still continue to charge 3%. I was told by a Hispanic gentleman at the door today that I can pay with cash or credit. There is nothing saying I can’t pay with debit nor does it state anywhere that there will be a 3% fee if I pay with debit. I have every intention to find out who I can report this to because it’s not right. I would advise anyone who eat at Manny’s to check your receipt.“
“Loved it!My brother prefers Denny's over IHOP, and he treated us allI hadn't been to Denny's since Circuit City was a booming business in Emeryville, CA.Thoroughly enjoyed my buttermilk pancakes, sliced ham, and the sausage was not your average sausage! It makes other sausages bland. Had a little kick, and a lot of flavor!Eggs tasted like eggs used to taste like.Buttermilk were really buttermilk pancakes, texture and flavor from old school, long ago. If I didn't mention the warmed syrup AND butter, forgive me! To! Die! For!Our waitress was WONDERFUL! Been there a while. As a former waitress, I always tip more than 20%, when we are treated very well, and I did!The atmosphere was very enjoyable. Slow, not crowded. Very family oriented. No wild child children - very respectful children.Enjoy, and please don't forget to tip your waitstaff. Times are harder and soon, they too will be replaced by robots, as some restaurants have already begun using robots to deliver food to the tables ?Vegetarian options: My brother eats primarily vegetarian meals, but with fish and egg whites. This is why he prefers Denny'sParking: Wasn't crowded. Enough parking when we visited.Wheelchair accessibility: Mother's in a wheelchair but we pulled her in her rolling walker instead.“
“Just had breakfast here, everyone was super friendly, I've never left a review before but this place was wonderful for a good breakfast with my mom. I came at 7am on a Friday with her, got cinnamon French toast and met with very friendly workers.“
“Beautifully decorated, the ambience was lovely. Servers were ever smiling and helpful and helped cater the food options to our taste and requirements. The second time I've been here and needless to say, it's a lovely place with great food and service. Recommend to go when you want a quick meal or are looking for multiple options in one place.“
“Family owned and operated diner. Clean and quiet with very good atmosphere. As per usual NJ diners, you can find the regular fare like French Dip and Gyros. Always good to 'Disco' the fries (melted cheese and gravy). For a Sunday, it was a bit slow.“
“We had a very satisfying meal. It started with a problem that the waitress solved quickly and in a very understanding manner. Crisis averted! Well done ? We need to be back in this town again in about a week, hopefully we will have time to stop in for another good experience.“
“I've been going to the Reo for years! What I want to say today is that I had recently tried the new IHOP in Woodbridge. It was overpriced and they don't even have regular black tea! So today , I said im going to the Reo and I got a delicious stack of French toast and coffee and the price and service blow away what we spent at IHOP. Renew my loyalty to the REO!“
“Good diner disguised as a local town restaurant. Service was excellent. Food was delivered quickly. We order eggs and grits, waffle and chicken and Cuban panini. The chicken with waffles tasted fine but the chicken did not look appealing. Grits were tasty and buttery. We will return.“
“This Denny's is on a highway across from a large mall and gets less customers as a result. Still, the food is good and the restaurant is very clean. Prices are cheap and I bought extras, fruit salad & banana cream pancakes topping.Vegetarian options: You can ask for no meat. The only thing that is really vegetarian is the side salad.Parking: On Sunday, the lot is empty. I think there are offices using the same lot. A hotel has a lot in back & might overflow into Dennys.Wheelchair accessibility: There are handicapped parking spaces. The restaurant is one floor and another customer used a walker to leave ok.“
“Love this place. Food is great, service is nice, place is clean and cozy. Love their poached eggs with hollandaise sauce, pancakes, bacon, sausage…..I want to try everything on their menu. Sometimes can be quite busy, other times, it’s slower, but I’ve always gotten good service. Can’t wait to take my kids here.“
“We arrived around 9:00 PM on a Thursday. We were able to park in the smaller parking lot right in front instead of the large lot next to it and were seated within a minute of walking inside. This diner has a modern feel and includes a bar but retains the booths that are indicative of diners. The hostess told us to choose any booth to sit in but did not walk to our booth to set our menus down. After taking our time looking at the extensive menu, we were ready to order but had to wait a couple of minutes before our server came to take our order. Our server was kind enough to apologize for the wait since they were occupied with a larger party then quickly took our drink and food orders. Our drink and food did not take long to be served to us (around 10 minutes) and were impressed by the quality of the items we had ordered. Order the South Central Mexican Skillet if you’re looking for perfectly seasoned home fries and fried eggs!“
“I came to Omega Diner for a Saturday Men's Fellowship with my church. It was 13 of us and we had the back room to ourselves. Our waiter was attentive throughout our duration there, especially for a large group. I ordered the mozzarella and sausage omlette, which was a pretty generous size. I loved how cheesy it was, and the sausage was cooked well. It came with home fries and toast, and I ordered a side of crispy bacon as well. For dessert, I ordered the cannoli cheesecake, and I was blown away by how generous they were with their slices. It tasted as good as it looked, and it wasn't overly rich.“
“This place is definitely worth a visit. The decor is vintage, but not antique... like 80s era. The service is fast and friendly and was also vintage :-)We went for breakfast on New Year's Day, so maybe it wasn't the best representation of the place, but I'll definitely be going back (and will update my review accordingly)The food was exactly what you expect from diner food: very good, not amazing. The one strong negative for me was the TV blasting Fox News at the bar area, and all the TVs tuned to the news. Can everyone please stop supporting News Channels that actively lie to the public?I forgave it as part of the "vintage" vibe, but not everyone wants to have news (or "nooz" in this case) blaring at them while they eat, regardless of the source.Parking: There is a large lot with many spots. People seem to park on the lawn as well, which was surprising!Kid-friendliness: It's a diner, so they like kids. However, all the TVs had news on them, which isn't exactly kid-friendly. Especially Fox News, which lies, fear-mongers, exaggerates, sensationalizes, and pushes a Republican agenda.“
“The Chicken Francese is a wonderful dinner option. I typically get it at least once a week and its worth every single penny. I get it at anytime during the day (even for breakfast). The BLT is also very good. The Torta is also a great option.Wheelchair accessibility: They do have wheelchair accessibility“
