“Everything was absolutely perfect, from the service to the deliciousness of the food (Chilean sea bass was outstanding, the lamb chops special was superb and the grilled octupus was perfectly tender). The only mention I have and it's seriously not a big deal was the dining room that we were seated in was a bit too dark I actually had to turn my flashlight on my phone to see. On a scale of 1-10 I give it an 11 !!“

“As charming as the bakery is, it pales in comparison to Miss Eleanor, the owner. Over the past several years I developed a sensitivity to wheat, so I wanted a gluten-free snack. She had a wide selection of sweets (cupcakes, cookies, brownies) but I saw the picture of biscuits and quickly decided to enjoy them with my coffee.

I took Ms Eleanor up on her offer to warm them up and chatted while waiting for my order to be complete. We had a lovely conversation about so many things - food, travel, career changes.

The fact that Carrie was answering me while the business is close is a sign that she’s passionate and that she care about her client. Wide selection, all freshly backed, wonderfully friendly staff and the cherry on top is the actually fair prices in a time when almost nothing feels like that. They offer freshly made breads (including challah and Italian style breads) cakes, cookies and so on. This is a walk in bakery not a place to sit.“

I called a 11 ice cream cake shops in the area only to be told that it was impossible without the right mold. One place even asked me to order a mold for them and they would see if they could make the cake but wanted to charge double for the effort. I randomly found this Carvel in Hackensack and after explaining what I wanted, one of the staff members brainstormed ways to make the cake come to life. I came with a 2 year old, she needed a diaper change, they told me the restrooms were closed to customers and only for staff. “One of my favorite locations to get me some Cold Stone Creamery treats. My mother and I had a ice cream date to try their new “Cinna Roll Bliss”……OMG, Defreakinglicious. It was a beautiful night, we found parking right near the store and it was empty. It got packed as soon as we made our purchase. This location is clean, has a cute vibe and the staff are the sweetest. Looking forward to trying their pumpkin flavor.
