“Black Eyed Susans is one of our absolute favorite restaurants on LBI, and it keeps us coming back every time we’re on the island.

One of the best things to come out of COVID was the addition of the outdoor patio. We love sitting outside, especially on a beautiful summer evening. The atmosphere is relaxed, welcoming, and perfectly captures the spirit of LBI.

The service is always exceptional. The staff is friendly, attentive, and consistently makes us feel like valued guests.

If you’re a wine lover, don’t miss Wine Wednesdays. Half-price bottles make an already great wine list even better. The selection is excellent, the pricing is fair, and it adds tremendous value to an already outstanding dining experience.

I also have to give a shoutout to their mini martinis. I have no idea why more restaurants don’t offer them. They’re the perfect size, let you try different cocktails throughout the meal, and make for a fun dining experience.

As for the food, I’ve tried just about everything on the menu and have never had a bad dish. The sourdough bread is fantastic, and my wife, who considers herself a true french fry connoisseur, swears they are the best french fries in the United States.

When you combine the quality of the food, the outstanding service, the wine program, the mini martinis, and the atmosphere, Black Eyed Susans delivers an incredible experience at a very fair price. It’s a place we look forward to visiting every time we’re back on LBI.“

“This place is phenomenal!! James was our server and made the experience even more special. We got there early- 440pm and were seated right away but as we were leaving it was getting packed. The pork belly, steak, tuna and tile fish were all amazing! The strawberry pavlova was the most unique dessert I’ve ever had. The orange cake was also phenomenal. Honestly everything on the table was delicious. I haven’t had a meal this good in as long as I can remember. Definitely go check it out!!!“

“The Blue Water Cafe has a really expansive menu. There is a breakfast/brunch menu from 8am-12pm and a very different lunch/dinner menu from 12pm-Closing Time. The lunch/dinner menu is geared much more towards sandwiches and main courses. The food is really good. The servers are friendly and very attentive. The atmosphere is casual and family-friendly.“

“Went here for breakfast with my family. My wife had the mushroom omlette with tomatoes which she loved. My son had the smoked salmon Benedict which he raved about. I had the western omlette with American cheese and hashbrowns which was very good. My daughter had the buffalo chicken wrap which was big and had good flavor. The service here is very good. “RUN don’t walk to this unassuming but incredibly delicious gem of a restaurant. It is a no frills kinda place, prices are the same as other seafood restaurants on the island so you’re not saving money other than on the tip because it’s a order at the counter and sit down kinda spot- but the seafood is SO FRESH, perfectly cooked, and delicious. Our family had lobster rolls ( best we had on the island so far), the mussels in the garlic white wine sauce, the stuffed shrimp and the little neck clams. They ran out of the scallops in brown butter sauce but everyone there said that it’s a must have item, we will definitely get it next time! John the owner who is front of house is a little bit of a character but I found it amusing. 10/10 for food! I don’t have photos bc we devoured it all so quickly.“

I am so happy we were able to provide such high quality and creative food, but also, to have had the opportunity to just enjoy the party while the Kate and Ally staff handled it all from set up to clean up! “Ordered delivery for our first time because our son said that they were great. Young woman on phone was very nice and verified all items in order. Delivery was quite fast for it being dinner time and the young man was very nice.. The chimichangas are outrageous! The green sauce is great but the mole' is really great. The empandas come smothered and can be an entire meal on their own. Really good stuff. They even add seperate containers of rice and beans. This is a superior restaurant.“

“My husband and I went to Dune 18 last night for restaurant week and it was fantastic! The food is incredible and the staff is so friendly. We personally love the PEI mussels in the white wine garlic sauce and the shrimp tempura. I tried the spinach salad last night and it was delicious, the dressing is made in house and is so yummy. We tried the chocolate mousse cake & carrot cake last night, both of which were so tasty but the chocolate mousse cake was the best mousse cake I’ve ever had… Can’t wait to come back again soon!“

“If you close your eyes and picture a classic Jersey diner, Mustache Bill’s is probably exactly what you’re imagining. But on LBI, it’s more than a diner. It’s a way of life.

This isn’t just a place for tourists. It’s packed with locals, which tells you everything you need to know. The staff is always friendly, welcoming, and helpful, and there’s a reason people have been coming back for generations.

One of our favorite things is the fun-shaped pancakes for the kids. They even turn the butter into part of the artwork, which is a small touch that always brings a smile to the table.

For breakfast, I highly recommend the Eggs Louie, their take on crab cake eggs Benedict. It’s outstanding. That said, I’ve worked my way through a good portion of the menu over the years, and you really can’t go wrong with anything.

The prices are fair, especially for being on the island, and the portions never disappoint.

One tip for first-time visitors: bring cash. Mustache Bill’s is cash only, and there isn’t an ATM on site. If you forget, there’s one just down the street.

“Still the best clam chowder and you cannot tell me otherwise. The bread bowl is toasted perfectly. Good bands and entertainment. Staff is always nice, decent selection of beers and alcohol. Good food overall. Our staples are the chowder, potato skins, and wings but have had their sandwhiches which have been good as well.“

“My daughter and her husband had their wedding reception at the Daymark on 10/27/2018. There was a nor’easter the night before into Saturday morning. There was flooding everywhere! Management and staff did an incredible job rearranging the room since we had to change the wedding ceremony to inside, instead of at the Lighthouse. The food and staff made it a memorable night. Everything was perfect! Thank you to all of the Daymark staff!“
