“Located at an intersection between Goffle Road and Wagaraw Road, forming a triangle, my partner and I had lunch at the Hawthorne Diner as first-timers. Upon entering, the interior was small and simple, but it had plenty of booths as well as a bar and was clean. There were a few tables in the back where we sat promptly. Their menu had everything one wanted or needed at a typical Jersey diner. There were plenty of breakfast choices, as well as wraps, sandwiches, and dinner options. We decided on something light and went for the broccoli cheddar potato skins and 1/2 tuna fish sandwich combo with salad. Good food is served in a timely fashion and at a decent price. Our server was friendly and attentive. We can recommend this place.“

“The food was good, I ordered just a waffle and bacon recently, but unfortunately, the TV was tuned to Newsmax and I was told "it couldn't be changed". Now that I know the extreme political views of those in charge, I won't be spending any more of my money there. Nor will I recommend the Lakeside Diner any more. “We came here on a Saturday and from start to finish Ray’s was enjoyable. The staff was very friendly and for it to be as crowded as it was they were very engaging with the customers. The food came out quickly and was delicious! Truly a wonderful family owned spot! Will definitely be going back.“

“Before I went back to college after spring break, me and my family took a stop at the Colonial Diner to get some food for diner, driving into the parking lot and getting seated pretty quickly. There were a good amount of other people in the diner, so getting a seat quickly was nice. Service wasn't anything special, but I don't really mind.The atmosphere of the diner is great, a very retro feel like it just came out of the early to mid 1900s. It was a cozy vibe. We got the 21 shrimp, breakfast burger, french toast, and some fish that was a special- sorry for forgetting the name. Really liked my breakfast burger and my sister's french toast. The shrimp was pretty basic though, and I think the fish could've been seasoned a bit better (it still tasted good!).Overall a pretty good place to drop into if you're looking for an affordable bite with a nice vibe.“

“Burgers and Chinese food at one place, never would have thought! Burgers were good, big and juicy, and relatively inexpensive. The "caramelized onions" were those fried onions you get from a can and not really caramelized onions. But for 10 bucks with fries and a can of soda, im ok with it.“

“Bendix diner is like stepping back into time. It's nice to see an old school diner like this. Don't let it's facade fool you into thinking that the food is greasy or average. Quite the contrary, the quality of food is very good, the portions are of good size and the prices are reasonable. There are artisan hot sauces on each table and counter, the syrup is maple syrup only but with cool flavors like Madagascar vanilla, cinnamon, habanero and others. Also the tea, they use premium tea leaves. All of that struck me as odd in a good way. The owner John and his son Michael are wonderful. They are attentive and provide good service. Their food is excellent. I had a turkey club there that rivaled 4 star hotel restaurants. It's truly a hidden gem“

“First and foremost, before I even discuss the food I want to address the fact that all of the staff at the diner today seemed genuinely happy to be there. Having worked in food service, that’s generally unheard of. Big props to the owner/ management for creating an environment like that.Now the food: I’m gluten intolerant. I couldn’t contain my smile when I saw the extensive gluten free options and heard of the lengths the kitchen goes to ensure allergy safety. I can’t remember the last time I have had so many wonderful options and could order something so easily. I got the chicken fingers and they were wonderful.Lastly: Safe is a fantastic server and very clearly cares a lot about the diner patrons. Every table that gets him as their server is just as lucky to have him as the diner is.Thank you for a great dinner ? I will be back OFTEN“

“This is a very good old school diner. I've been coming here for years. They are always courteous and the food is reliable. I was in the mood for grilled chicken with honey mustard on a roll. It wasn't on their menu as that but they were more than happy to make it for me. They have a number of daily specials and they are different all the time so you can be a regular without getting bored.“

I like to support small owned businesses because usually you receive good quality service and that’s what I encountered when coming in this morning. I had the bacon egg and cheese on a roll and a coffee. The sandwich was delicious, and the coffee was just that. Coffee. If you’re in a rush first thing in the morning be sure to give yourself time because they take they’re time to prep the food but in a good way overall I was satisfied and will be back again.“

“Caldwell diner is wonderful. I have ordered takeout several times now and have always been extremely pleased. I love that when I call to place an order I always get a friendly voice on the other end of the phone - they are SO polite and courteous. The food is delicious and you can tell it is prepared and packaged with care. We have had the Italian panini, veggie and beef burgers, chicken fingers, garden Salad with grilled chicken, and the chicken salad club so far. I am hoping they add matzo ball soup to the menu in the future. Apparently the owners have two other establishments - Tavern 292 in Fairfield and another Tavern 73 in Pine Brook but I haven't had a chance to try them out yet. Anyway, highly recommend!!!“

However the service wasn’t that good, our waiter barely came to the table to check on us and forgot about some of our food. The food wasn’t entirely bad, it was flavorful but a little dry.“

“Need a quick cup of coffee or their famous "Tower" breakfast sandwich then head to Abbie's. This small restaurant has 4 tables and about 6 bar stools. They have great pancakes and a good cup of coffee. Many locals go here for their morning caffeine hit and local news. People call in their orders and run in and pick up. It's a "guy" kind of place and many local landscapers, and tradesmen are getting a great breakfast sandwich and coffee on the run for a very reasonable price. I wouldn't recommend it if you're going with your girlfriends though.“

“The Philly Cheesesteak is the best! Good price for the amount of food you get!Breakfast is ok typical diner type food. I'm not a fan of eggs so the options are more limited for me to pancakes, waffles, etc. so we usually do lunch instead.They are open for dinner now during the week but post the specials on Instagram. They used to have a website and it no longer works, I really wish they would fix it because in this day and age usually if you don't have a website you don't last long as a business.“

“Came here with my husband and friends of ours with two kids. We got seated quickly. The staff was so friendly to the kids, it was great! The kids menu had plenty of choices, and the regular menu has enough for anyone to choose from. We all enjoyed our food. I had the BBQ Cobb salad, and everything was fresh and delicious. Portions are generous. Definitely plan to come back soon!“

“This is our go to spot. There is an immediate "welcome home" feeling when you walk in. The staff is extremely welcoming and accommodating. I know it says diner in the name; however, that doesn't do it justice. The hardest thing whenever we come is deciding what to get, which in this case is a good thing. “WOWW! What an experience... I went on Thursday afternoon and it was starting to pick up early dinner. I was pretty hungry so I ordered an Eggs Benedict and an order of pancakes. The eggs Benedict was one of the best I have had in a long time. The English muffin was toasted to perfection. The pancakes were the best pancakes I have had hands down, they were so fluffy and loaded with strawberries. They DO NOT skimp on portions here. I was so content with my meal that I got a slice of Canoli Cheesecake to go that sent me into a deep food coma. The service was incredible as it was my first time there. I will definitely return to this diner. The manager Mike gave me a great table and was super friendly, great guy. My server Astrid was very attentive and helped guide me through the options on the extensive menu. I recommend everyone come here if you are looking for an AWESOME diner!!!!!!!“

“The dinner is a very quaint retro look on the outside and cozy in the inside. The staff are helpful but not super attentive. The food choices are many and presented well. But some of the flavor profiles where not up the the standard I was expecting from such a price point.“

I ordered the eggs Benedict -- the avocado option, which was a healthier alternative than the regular one with muffin. -- it had so much delicious hollandaise sauce. My partner ordered the Hillery Street house special from the breakfast platter menu, which has two large pancakes, eggs, and bacon strips. We also ordered (not pictured) hot chocolate with whipped cream and regular coffee with milk--- the milk is served in this cute sealed small glass container. Overall, it is a family-friendly place with great service and tasty brunch options with sizeable portions. We definitely see ourselves returning to try more of their breakfast menu. Ps: Nicely decorated with an autumn theme not just outside the entrance but all over the restaurant.“

“Jimmy and Bernice work the wee hours of the morning to make everything fresh every day. From the Friday corn beef hash for breakfast ( sells out early) to the best fresh burgers. Homemade soups. While I worked in the area I ate lunch there every day for about 40 years. Miss eating there they made you feel like family.“

“Our family of 9 were really accommodated during brunch on Easter weekend. The decor is beautiful, which is unusual for a diner. Service was friendly and fast. There were many fun choices of pancakes (I got pecan banana, chocolate chip and our kids got Oreo) and there were HUGE. Other kids got sliders and loved them.“

“I discovered Montclair Diner through DoorDash and I have ordered from here many times and I am very satisfied with the quality of all the items relative to the price. DoorDash pricing is getting out of control and Montclair Diner is one of the few spots that still have reasonable prices and good quality. I usually order breakfast like pancakes, omelettes, breakfast sandwiches, and coffee and I have been happy with the orders. There are a few more items on the menu that I really want to try out including the crab cakes Benedict, shrimp and grits, and burgers and I look forward to that.“
