“First and foremost, before I even discuss the food I want to address the fact that all of the staff at the diner today seemed genuinely happy to be there. Having worked in food service, that’s generally unheard of. Big props to the owner/ management for creating an environment like that. Now the food: I’m gluten intolerant. I couldn’t contain my smile when I saw the extensive gluten free options and heard of the lengths the kitchen goes to ensure allergy safety. I can’t remember the last time I have had so many wonderful options and could order something so easily. I got the chicken fingers and they were wonderful.Lastly: Safe is a fantastic server and very clearly cares a lot about the diner patrons. Every table that gets him as their server is just as lucky to have him as the diner is.Thank you for a great dinner ? I will be back OFTEN“
“The dinner is a very quaint retro look on the outside and cozy in the inside. The staff are helpful but not super attentive. The food choices are many and presented well. But some of the flavor profiles where not up the the standard I was expecting from such a price point.“
“Loved the service, Jannete was excellent with us, delicious taste, big portions and the greatest most cozy family atmosphere you can experience. We are on vacation and we are def come back!!!Y ub buen servicio bilingue.Kid-friendliness: My daughter although she is 21 her mental age is 6 cause her autism and they were really polite and gentle and understand, My daughter was really comftable.Wheelchair accessibility: In front of the door“
“A guy sat next to me on the train literally tapped me on the shoulder and asked, “Where did you get that sandwich”.Classic diner… with an international twist. Speedy service, great breakfast sandwich, everything you want in a diner/lunch spot.A real gem.“
“The food is very good. But what is even better is the owner Chris. He takes his business very seriously. Each time I go in to pick my food up I observe him speaking with the customers and making sure that everything is running smooth. He is very approachable and friendly. So if you have a special request for your food you can be assured he will make sure it's taken care of.“
“THE BEST GREEK SALAD IN NJ! I am not exaggerating! I have been all over Greece and this salad is the closest you can get to the real one. I live in LA, and every time I come to NJ I eat that salad every single day because it’s hard to find the right one in LA as well!Vegetarian options: Greek salad is the best“
“Had dinner here in our way back to Massachusetts. Delicious and our server was very kind. Had a beef gyro and pastrami sandwich. Prices were totally reasonable. I wish we had something g like this in Massachusetts! Would definitely go again if I am in the area again.“
“A friend highly recommended we try Butler Family Diner. Dad and I enjoyed our meals. Dad had meatloaf and I chicken parm, both very tasty and nice presentation. We also enjoyed the Valentine decorations and the music. Waiter was very attentive and friendly. Definitely returning. We highly recommend.“
“Amazing food, great customer service and very clean restaurant. I get food here at least once a week and have never had any problems. If you miss Libbys Lunch on McBride Ave, this is the place for you. The owner was the head cook at Libbys for many years so its just as good if not better, especially since its Halal!“
“After a long overnight shift at the hospital I stopped in the nearest breakfast spot on google. I like to support small owned businesses because usually you receive good quality service and that’s what I encountered when coming in this morning. I had the bacon egg and cheese on a roll and a coffee. The sandwich was delicious, and the coffee was just that. Coffee. If you’re in a rush first thing in the morning be sure to give yourself time because they take they’re time to prep the food but in a good way overall I was satisfied and will be back again.“
“First time coming here since remodel. The new atmosphere and remodel is amazing. I love the new set up and everything. However the service wasn’t that good, our waiter barely came to the table to check on us and forgot about some of our food. The food wasn’t entirely bad, it was flavorful but a little dry.“
“Caldwell diner is wonderful. I have ordered takeout several times now and have always been extremely pleased. I love that when I call to place an order I always get a friendly voice on the other end of the phone - they are SO polite and courteous. The food is delicious and you can tell it is prepared and packaged with care. We have had the Italian panini, veggie and beef burgers, chicken fingers, garden Salad with grilled chicken, and the chicken salad club so far. I am hoping they add matzo ball soup to the menu in the future. Apparently the owners have two other establishments - Tavern 292 in Fairfield and another Tavern 73 in Pine Brook but I haven't had a chance to try them out yet. Anyway, highly recommend!!!“
“Last night, my party and I had an extraordinary dining experience at Oakland Diner. The food was absolutely fantastic, and our waitress, Nicole, truly elevated our evening with her exceptional service. Not only was she incredibly sweet, but she also demonstrated unparalleled attentiveness throughout our meal. From promptly fulfilling our requests for extra napkins to ensuring our glasses were never empty, Nicole went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction. Thanks to her warm demeanor and impeccable service, our dinner was nothing short of amazing. We are already looking forward to returning, knowing that Nicole will make our next visit just as memorable. She is undoubtedly an asset to the team and deserves all the praise!!“
“Best breakfast value in the area. Serves real home fries, not the low budget frozen hashed browns like other local diners. They have tons of regulars, a testament to the quality and consistency. One negative - the server(woman) is always in a bad mood and it shows.“
“Best breakfast I had in a while so I am very pleased to have found this little gem. The breakfast wrap is sooo good, it's perfection in a wrap! The home made corn beef hash is amazing, best I've had in the area. Did not disappoint and will be back for more.“
“This is a very good old school diner. I've been coming here for years. They are always courteous and the food is reliable. I was in the mood for grilled chicken with honey mustard on a roll. It wasn't on their menu as that but they were more than happy to make it for me. They have a number of daily specials and they are different all the time so you can be a regular without getting bored.“
“The Philly Cheesesteak is the best! Good price for the amount of food you get!Breakfast is ok typical diner type food. I'm not a fan of eggs so the options are more limited for me to pancakes, waffles, etc. so we usually do lunch instead. They are open for dinner now during the week but post the specials on Instagram. They used to have a website and it no longer works, I really wish they would fix it because in this day and age usually if you don't have a website you don't last long as a business.“
“Located at an intersection between Goffle Road and Wagaraw Road, forming a triangle, my partner and I had lunch at the Hawthorne Diner as first-timers. Upon entering, the interior was small and simple, but it had plenty of booths as well as a bar and was clean. There were a few tables in the back where we sat promptly. Their menu had everything one wanted or needed at a typical Jersey diner. There were plenty of breakfast choices, as well as wraps, sandwiches, and dinner options. We decided on something light and went for the broccoli cheddar potato skins and 1/2 tuna fish sandwich combo with salad. Good food is served in a timely fashion and at a decent price. Our server was friendly and attentive. We can recommend this place.“
“If you cannot wait for the table, I'd recommend checking the live tracker on Google maps.We came in on Sunday, St Patrick's day, and as a large group (of 24) the place was PACKED...We had to wait over 30 minutes, but it was worth it.Prices are not low, but you do get your money's worth.Portions are BIG, selection is great so even picky eaters can find something to eat. Also, since it is a diner, you can have breakfast for lunch or dinner...Service is quite fast and attentive but not overly, which I prefer.Plenty of parking onsite and proximity to the highway makes it a good choice for a mealParking: Onsite.Kid-friendliness: High chairs available, kids menu.Wheelchair accessibility: ADA compliant.“
“I've been here many times, they have delicious specials, the stuffed peppers are top quality, and burgers are excellent. great staff, and waitresses, one of the best diners in North Jersey. December 14th. I stopped in tonight and the food was excellent as always, great staff and ownership. I had a huge delicious fish dish which I highly recommend. I travel 20 mins to go to this diner, and they never let you down, stop in for a high quality meal.“
“I brought my fiance to this diner and we had a great time. The waitress was so nice and our food was perfectly made (see pictures).Vegetarian options: I did not order a vegetarian meal, but there are salads and other options available. They were able to add/remove anything upon request too.Kid-friendliness: As you would expect of other diners in the area, this one is also kid friendly.Parking: Parking lot in the back of restaurantWheelchair accessibility: Yes, but only from the front entranceThe back enterance has stairs.Dietary restrictions: They can add/remove upon request.“
“Good food, cozy atmosphere, friendly service. Our little one loves to go there for brunch and have waffles and chocolate milkshake. We love their eggs benedict. Really happy that it's in my neighbourhood.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly, saw several families with young children.“
“This break, I had the pleasure of eating at a local diner. I went to The Allwood Diner located at 913 Allwood Rd, Clifton, NJ on March 10th around 10am. Fortunately, my family and I learned from our prior mistakes and went for breakfast as opposed to lunch when the post-Church rush occurred. The diner was not too busy, and neither was the parking lot, which is on the same premises as the establishment. Considering that the Allwood diner is my local diner, there are plenty of familiar faces each time we go. First, when we entered, we were greeted by the host with a welcoming smile and a, “How’ve you been? Long time no see. How is college?” Our names were then added to the list, and we were escorted to a booth shortly afterward. The diner is very homey with a family friendly atmosphere. The neutral colored walls, floor, booth, and many windows created a warm and inviting environment. Everything was clean and the smell of fresh brewed coffee, bacon, and pancakes wafted in the air. The wait for the food was about fifteen minutes which is definitely better than the thirty minute wait during the lunch rush. However, while we waited for our food we were constantly being checked on whether it was for a coffee refill for my father, a fresh cup of tea for my mother, or even more water for the table. During our wait, the host returned to our table to make conversation. When we got the food, which consisted of pancakes, eggs over easy, home fries, and toast, it was nice and hot, and the flavors emulsified in my mouth. They were accommodating to my father’s dietary restrictions. For example, he had a special request regarding the way they prepared his food, and they met that need. The food and experience were excellent, as always.“
“This is our go to spot. There is an immediate "welcome home" feeling when you walk in. The staff is extremely welcoming and accommodating. I know it says diner in the name; however, that doesn't do it justice. The hardest thing whenever we come is deciding what to get, which in this case is a good thing. We always know we will have amazing food and friendly, attentive service. Also, let me tell you, the chicken francaise over penne is pastably the best I've ever had.“
“One of my favorite places. Food is constantly great, the owner and the staff are very welcoming. They've even taken the time to learn everyone's names. If they were opened for dinner, we'd be there for dinner too.Dietary restrictions: My daughter has a nut allergy and they've been very accommodating.Parking: You can park on the street (free in Sundays) or behind the building is a huge lot. There's a back entrance to the restaurant but that will require you to walk up stairsKid-friendliness: Always lots of kids and everyone seems happy.Wheelchair accessibility: Through the front door, a wheelchair will work.“
“My first time going during mid-November -- I stopped by around noon, and the place was pretty crowded, but still lots of available seating! I ordered the eggs Benedict -- the avocado option, which was a healthier alternative than the regular one with muffin. -- it had so much delicious hollandaise sauce. My partner ordered the Hillery Street house special from the breakfast platter menu, which has two large pancakes, eggs, and bacon strips. We also ordered (not pictured) hot chocolate with whipped cream and regular coffee with milk--- the milk is served in this cute sealed small glass container. Overall, it is a family-friendly place with great service and tasty brunch options with sizeable portions. We definitely see ourselves returning to try more of their breakfast menu. Ps: Nicely decorated with an autumn theme not just outside the entrance but all over the restaurant.“
“Good food. Busy place with one waitress doing everything. She worked her butt off but the place was full. She did the best she could.Parking: Plenty of handicapped parkingWheelchair accessibility: Tabled can accommodate wheelchairsDietary restrictions: Adapted order for health needs with no trouble.“
“Jimmy and Bernice work the wee hours of the morning to make everything fresh every day. From the Friday corn beef hash for breakfast ( sells out early) to the best fresh burgers. Homemade soups. While I worked in the area I ate lunch there every day for about 40 years. Miss eating there they made you feel like family.“
“Love this place, super clean friendly environment, service is great food is great. In the strong rarity that they get something wrong they fix it instantly. The environment is also spacious and special needs friendlyKid-friendliness: High chairs are top quality kid friendly menu staff is also super sweet and in-tune with the special needs populationWheelchair accessibility: The area is spacious and can navigate wheelchairs with relative ease the tables are low enough to be able to eat comfortably“
“I go for breakfast with my fellow Mama's who are sneaking away for this precious time, and the service is always great and quick to accommodate special asks!!! The food is always just what we need and tasty. Whether we are crying over coffee or laughing over coffee, we are never made to feel rushed. I like walking in and feeling welcome...“
“I order breakfast from Nutley at least a few times per week through DoorDash and the food is consistently good. Great home fries, and they follow directions which is always a nice plus. I wish their breakfast sandwiches were a little better but again, their platters are great.“
“The Park West Diner had excellent food and a very reasonable and the waitress that wait on me her name was Sonia she was very pleasant and she offered if I wanted any more coffee and I said yes she's very nice and it was very pleasant and the place was very “
“Very nice place, people here are so nice. Food was delicious. Lots of included stuff with the meal. I might got ice cream with chocolate cake which was delicious and I got roast chicken for dinner, which was very good value of for all the food which was unbelievable value and the waiter is very kind.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly with many options“
“There is no better diner in NJ .This diner is the reason NJ is so famous for diner culture ,quality, and service .Don't miss this place when you are in town.3 min from Met Life stadium, American dream mall and the entire East Rutherford night life scene.PERFECT!Parking: Always plenty of parking.Kid-friendliness: All amenities for even the youngest as well as seatingWheelchair accessibility: Accessible ramp and space.“
“I met a friend for breakfast, and being allergic to eggs and milk, this is not easy. My friend arrived early, but the minute I was seated the waiter wanted to take our order, when I hadn't opened the menu yet. I was able to order the oatmeal with blueberries and cinnamon, a side of bacon, and tea with lemon. The food was delicious. The service was ok, although they did not offer refills on tea, even though I finished it before the food came. They waited until we had finished eating before asking, & I did order a 2nd cup, but it came without the lemon. I felt rushed the whole time, which would make sense if they were busy, but they weren't. There were many empty tables.Dietary restrictions: I was able to order breakfast, despite being allergic to eggs and dairy. The options are few, but at least they are available.“
“I have been here a couple times in the last year. On a weeknight you can always get a big spacious booth. It is great for conversation, the acoustics are good. Omelettes are usually my go to, as I love them for dinner. Tonight I had a Gyro dinner platter and it was tasty. Good bargain if you go with the specials. The service was good, waiter kept checking with us.“
“I discovered Montclair Diner through DoorDash and I have ordered from here many times and I am very satisfied with the quality of all the items relative to the price. DoorDash pricing is getting out of control and Montclair Diner is one of the few spots that still have reasonable prices and good quality. I usually order breakfast like pancakes, omelettes, breakfast sandwiches, and coffee and I have been happy with the orders. There are a few more items on the menu that I really want to try out including the crab cakes Benedict, shrimp and grits, and burgers and I look forward to that.“
“I got the an omelette and it was very delicious. The server was a ginger woman(I didn’t get the name). She was very nice and was often checking up on us seeing how the food was. She food was all very good. And I had a great time dining here!“
“My friend and I went in at 2 pm. I ordered the early dinner special. It included soup or salad, main entree, beverage and dessert for $12.95! The food was really delicious and portion size plentiful. I had enough for another meal. Definitely will be back yet again. Rare find.“
“Always a good experience here the hosts always Greet you with a positive attitude and the service is always top notch. Prices are also very fair.Parking: Fair amount of parking entrance and exit are also easy to navigateKid-friendliness: Kid friendly food options and chairs“
