“Quick stop to purchase some bagels.Small but sufficient and orderly parking lot. Friendly service and good selection of bagels. They even had a jalapeno bagel. There was a sign for spinach bagel but sadly none made today. 6 bagels = $7

“Ok so being Google keeps asking me to review here I thought and nice Sunday morning coffee and bagel would be good. There is a big parking lot being it’s part of a shopping center. Walking in no confusion as to where to go to order. Everyone seemed very nice and helpful. I think it took me longer to make my coffee then it took to make and bag my bagel. Let me stop boring you with the BS stuff let’s talk bagel and coffee. I have been to a few bagel shops and I have to say Manhattan Bagel has the softest bagels. I did just get a buttered salt but wow the outside was mildly crunchy but like I said nice and soft in the middle. As far as coffee I tried their fall blend pumpkin spice and it tasted very deluded, not to much taste. They didn’t have French vanilla so I went with the pumpkin. Would I go back 100% the bagel was fantastic“

“Great breakfast sandwich options for less. Called ahead every time and without fail, my order was ready to go every time I walked in. We enjoyed the bacon, egg and cheese on a croissant as well as plain bagels with cream cheese. The coffee was also nothing to scoff at either. We definitely enjoyed our breakfast, so much so that we went back the next day. And for the price, you can't beat it. Definitely better than what you will get at the nearby hotels and for less.“

What really stood out during my visit was the service. Wael, the gentleman working the front counter, was exceptionally polite, attentive, and patient. His attention to detail and willingness to listen closely to my order, especially as someone who likes to customize their breakfast sandwiches, this was refreshing. In many bagel spots, staff can seem rushed or distracted, but Wael made the experience easy.

Whether you're a classic bacon-egg-and-cheese kind of person or someone who likes to get a little creative with your sandwich, Bagel 1 delivers quality without the chaos. The spot is low-key, but the flavor is next level.

“Ok so for one, be ready to pay like 20% more because this is a mom and pop and they don’t have economies of scale like fast food does. But if you want a Time Machine back to a time when diners were diners and brand names weren’t everything, then come here! The lady was so nice , I asked if they give their delicious macaroni salad with anything that is bought, but it was only with some items from the menu. But I ordered a veggie quesadilla (off menu) and she gave me a cup of the macaroni salad! Just out of the kindness of her heart. And the food was ACTUALLY really really good!

“I always had Dunellen Bagel when I lived there and it’s the best bagel I’ve ever had. I moved and bagels aren’t the same here so everytime I visit Jersey I have to go to Dunellen Bagel and I have my husband addicted too. He’s never tasted a bagel like this and he was amazed. So we bring bagels back home in our carry-on and freeze them at home. I would 100% definitely recommend this place!“

“$3 Nonsense fees when you order online for pickup. For a $13.75 order, I am charged an extra $3 or so. Why am I penalized for choosing NOT to phone in? Most restaurants view phone-in calls as costly and occupying staff time. It's my fault for not noticing before I placed the order. I used the website Preferred By Business, which is usually their POS vendor site, which should have the lowest expense for the shop. Lesson learned, call in your order. Side note, their breakfast sandwich has 2 thin slices of pork roll and 1 slice of cheese. It was pathetic. Bagel was fine.“

“The bagels here are the best anywhere around. I love the Everything bagels the most.

However, I noticed one thing on checking out. When you put your card in the slot it gives you an option to tip: 10%, 15% and 20%.
BUT THERE IS NO OPTION FOR NO TIP. It forces you to leave a tip in order to check out. This is unarmed robbery. Why should I tip someone behind a counter who simply picked bagels out of the basket, put them in a bag and hand it to you.

This is utter nonsense! If I were waited on, like they bring my food to a table, then ok. From 2000 and back through time, the business owners would have laughed their heads off at such a notion. This is insanity. They want a handout for just doing their jobs. No one ever tipped me for doing my job (as an accountant). So why should I tip someone for just doing theirs?

So from now on I pay cash and will pocket the exact change. They rig up this nonsense because the owners do not pay their help sufficiently and expect the general public to make up the difference. BULLCRAP“

“Really awesome bagels! Typical bagel shop / deli fare. I like the variety of bagels - they have everything, egg everything and a whole wheat everything! Their multi-grain and french toast bagels are awesome too. Great food. Cooks prepare the food correctly. The staff are very friendly, it shows when they are rushed or stressed, but otherwise they are welcoming and thank us for coming in. It looks like some reviewers have complained about the staff, but the staff always welcome us when we walk in the door, they are kind, friendly and joke around with us. You cant ask for better! The coffee is great! Tasty and fresh, I love some of the flavored beans, but they don't always have every flavor available. Chicken salad and tuna salad and other lunch options are also very tasty.“

“It was an acceptable sausage egg and cheese. I have to say it did take a while but I enjoyed the sandwich. The atmosphere is a little dated but I mean it’s bagels 4 u and not atmosphere 4 u so I can’t ding them for that. I also found out that this place is a chain. That means I’ll have to visit more and do a cross sectional analysis of my experiences at this franchise.“
