“Mama Rao’s kitchen has been catering all of our main home events last few years and we get nothing but raves from all of our family and friends over the food. They just did our Easter for twenty eight people, everyone loved the ham and eggplant rollitini and I am a big fan of their meatballs and sausage in their homemade gravy. The food was fresh, hot, and full of flavor. The Lemon Pepper, Sweet & Spicy, and Hot Honey wings were all excellent, and the smash burgers were juicy and delicious. The mango refreshers were also refreshing and a perfect addition to the meal.

What really stood out, though, was the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely cared about making sure we had a great experience. They greeted us with a smile, answered our questions, and made sure everything came out fresh and exactly as ordered. Great customer service like that is hard to find these days.

“Honestly, it makes me so happy that a place like this still exists in downtown Montclair. I picked up two pizzas today - a pepperoni and a cheese for $25. The woman there was incredibly sweet and gave me a free container of cut watermelon as well. I really like their pizza and have always sung their praises - it’s slightly spicy. Traditional? Not exactly but I’m Italian and I think it’s delicious for a good price so that’s what matters. Hope they’re around for a long time — they’ve always been there for me in a later night pinch“

Just to be perfectly honest, this place is located in a rather tough area, so keep that in mind when going here. Also there's no seating, it's strictly take out, the prices are very fair, and it offers a decent amount of other products similar to a small bodega. “Dropped by here Tuesday night and Neighborhood Favorites is a great late-night spot, especially if you’re looking for good food without spending a lot. I came in with a certain amount I wanted to spend, and the girl with red hair who took my order was extremely kind and helpful. She took the time to explain the different options on the menu and helped me figure out what I could get within my budget. I think the name on my receipt may have been Randy, but either way, shoutout to her for the great customer service!

I ended up getting the salmon with rice and a drink for only around $14, which I thought was a really good deal for the portion. The salmon was surprisingly juicy and flavorful, and the sauce that came with it was really good too. For the price, I was definitely satisfied with how much food I got.

Overall, I highly recommend Neighborhood Favorites if you’re in the area, especially for a late-night meal. Good food, affordable prices, generous portions, and friendly service.
