“Delicious and FRESH food. Very good Haitian place on my now three visits. It's a high-quality takeout restaurant and level of service depends on the person waiting on you. I have had okay service by some and great hospitality from others (the owner and Jemima, I believe is her name, have both given excellent personal service). Either way, the food makes up for it.I've had the pork griot, which is so delicious. Many places you get fried pork, you might be chewing for days; theirs is tender and flavorful. I just had the fritaille platter with the pork and everything included was fresh and delicious. I've also had the fish, chicken, and beef patties made with homemade puff pastry. They were all fresh and SO FLAKEY. Perfect puff pastry. They're also well-priced and a good value. Don't hesitate to try them, it's always busy for a reason!

“Had dinner there for the second time on Saturday night! It was very memorable. The food was absolutely fantastic. I had the eggplant with the Barata for an appetizer. It was so delicious and so tasty and my main course was the homemade linguine with lump crab and corn. We also got the meatball which was spectacular and then I got the cheesecake dessert which was one of the best cheesecakes I’ve ever eaten. I absolutely love love love this place. Can’t wait to go back and eat there again.“

“Highly recommend Gus’ Last Word. This neighborhood establishment is cozy and chic at the same time. It is a perfect balance of retro and modern vibes. I was comforted by yummy chicken pot pie and unique cocktails. It has a lovely bar, with lounge areas, dining section and outdoor space. “Can I just say WOW!!!! Been waiting to come here for quite some time, and it far surpassed every expectation I had!! Staff was lovely! Creative, DELICIOUS appetizers... We tried several, and seriously each one was SOOO GOOD!!! I'm a huge fan of Detroit style pizza, and it was cooked to perfection! Dessert was absolutely phenomenal as well! One of the best meals I've had in some time, from start to finish! They even had live music upstairs, which was such a nice surprise! Can't wait for our next trip back!!! “Second baptism brunch I've attended here. The staff and food the last time were incredible but the staff this time were above and beyond incredible!! The food was very good and the place was extremely clean! Only issue I had was they put salad on top of each meal after serving a salad to start the meal. Didn't make much sense to me. But I still highly recommend this place!!! Too bad I could only give 5 stars to the service as it deserves 10!!!“

“Nice place. Service wasn't great. We had a new waiter, and he was not the greatest. He didn't pay attention to what we ordered, kept reminding him when we came back to the table of the items we ask for, nor the 1st or 2nd time, but the 3rd time. The atmosphere and food experience kind of override the service. I will definitely go back, but make sure I have someone more attentive and experienced.“

“We have dined here many times before seeing various shows at the Papermill Playhouse, and our experience has always been delightful. It is a nice, quiet little restaurant with a big heart. Everyone there is so kind and attentive. The service is wonderful. Everyone from the host, our server, even the bartender greeted us with big smiles. The food was fabulous as well. The chef came to our table to chat and see how everything came out - fantastic! It’s great that they have a pre-fixed menu, you pick your appetizer, main course, and desserts, and it’s all themed based on the show, so clever! The steak was cooked to perfection. By the time dessert came out, I could barely eat another bite, but I did! :) Drinks are delicious as well. The manager is a nice guy too! He came around to see how everything was - impeccable. From the atmosphere, to the food, the drinks, the staff, it was truly a wonderful time. We are looking forward to many more pre-dinner shows at the Carriage House!“

“Very nice wedding venue. Attended my cousin's wedding here and was very impressed with the food, especially during the cocktail hour. Staff was quick to remove plates when the next course was ready to be served and the bartender on our side of the room made the rounds to each table to see who wanted a refill on their beverage. It was fun celebration.“
