My wife had the pasta pomodoro and I had a cheeseburger with some fries on the side to share. All of the food was so tasty and the mocktails were fantastic as well. Our waitress was attentive but also gave us plenty of space so we could enjoy our final night in NYC. Very highly recommend this place!“
“We went last Sunday night for a family dinner. We ordered White bean Hummus, Hamachi and Tuna appetizers(tiny portions), Gruyère fritters as starters. Can’t remember what else. Everything was delicious. We ordered pork Katsu and the citrus marinated chicken, Gnocchi w Duck Ragu for dinner which were also well prepared and accompaniments were flavorful. Part of our dinner was the charred octopus appetizer. This dish was quite overcooked and chewy. The sauce on the side was the only way we got through the plate. In retrospect we should have sent the item back as it was an expensive selection but we did not want to be rude. This was also unexpected as our other choices were tasty so we did not know how to deal with this miss. All in all this dish was a disappointment. Staff was friendly, vibe was nice and the restaurant was quite full on a Sunday evening. We noticed a gentleman watching over the dining room and I am guessing that was to make sure patrons were either well taken care of or not over staying.“

“Came here for lunch on a Monday (around 1pm) and was able to walk in without needing reservation. We got the schnitzel (tried pork and chicken) and also the apple schtrudel, they were all delicious! “High in the clouds atop the historic pine st building, Saga restaurant has one of the best views in the city.When we arrived up the elevator, we were greeted by the bar and served an aperitif treat from a selection of fruity or herbal flavors.We were then taken to our table. The menu is pretty straightforward with a couple of choices - we had a choice of entree (we chose the duck tagine which saga is famous for) and we could also add on a truffle risotto course.Our first bite was a foam topped abalone beautifully served in the shell. This was the followed by a bento box of fresh seafood and vegetable bites. The idea was a 'choose your own adventure' and combine the seafood on crackers, or lettuce leaves with sauces to your liking.We also had a foie gras dish, and a scallop pudding dish with caviar, bone marrow, and lobster in Singaporean chilli style, before the main event of the duck. Served family style, we had two large dishes of duck with vegetables and pancake style breads and sauces to make into wraps. I loved the interactivity but was slightly concerned I wouldn't have the best combination of flavors in every bite. The food was messy and needed a good wipe of my hands after!For dessert we enjoyed the ice cream and crumble.We also got the discovery wine pairing and every single pairing was spot on (which is rare for a long tasting menu).Great spot!“

We started out with Bluepoint oysters that were just splendid and progressed to Bareli's meatball dish, which is definitely a must if you go, a few lovely Chianti Classicos for me and Pinot Grigio for my date, we were happy as a lark, we'll back tonight to see Lonnie Youngblood perform which I couldn't believe, he's 87 years old and still gigging. “The service during the dinner portion of our meal was very good. We had attentive servers who frequently checked in on us. Our table had two orders of the gaon and the premium set. The food was good but under-seasoned, especially the banchan. In terms of the drinks we enjoyed the cocktail of the day and the rosé. Once we were moved to the back (I assume because they needed our table for the next seating) we could not get the attention of a server. On 2-3 occasions I went up to the front desk to ask for a server, a menu, the check etc. The yuzu cheesecake dessert was okay. I was pleasantly surprised when the manager brought out a birthday dessert for me. The macaron on the birthday dessert platter was one of the best things I ate that evening.“

We got two half box orders of boneless thighs (original crispy and soy garlic/sweet & spicy), fries, and water. The chicken took about 15-20 minutes to cook, but it was well worth the wait. My son (the pickiest eater in the world) LOVED the boneless thighs, and even the French fries. I thought everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The flavors were all fantastic, with the soy garlic being my favorite. The fries were also some of the best fries I've ever had. Super crispy on the outside but fluffy on the inside. The food also came with Cole slaw which was DELICIOUS, and I say this as someone who normally strays away from Cole slaw.Customer service was excellent. The woman at the front was very friendly and clear with describing the food. Their presentation was top notch also. The food was packaged beautifully and even the bag it came in was just really well designed. It was like opening a holiday gift of delicious food. I would highly recommend paying this place a visit, although you'll probably have to do take out since they have limited seating. That's probably the only downside I can think of, but they still deserve 5 stars overall“
“Fantastic Night at American Cut (Especially the Service!) I had an incredible return visit to American Cut! Everything was on point this evening. The star of the show was our waiter, Russ. He provided fantastic recommendations for both cocktails and wine pairings. We also indulged in some phenomenal appetizers, with the smoked wagyu and steak tartar being true standouts. Our entrees were equally impressive, particularly the porterhouse, tomahawk, wagyu, and the decadent mac and cheese. Even though my guests and I trekked down from uptown, the experience was absolutely worth it. The entire evening was amazing, and a big shoutout goes to the manager, Joey. The ambiance was also perfect for a client dinner or night out with great friends. I got their Corn Beef Hash Breakfast Wrap & on a separate occasion I got their Taylor Ham, Egg, & Cheese with extra meat and three eggs. Both items were a real treat! Their Taylor Ham, Egg, & Cheese was really really tasty, and the Taylor Ham had a wonderful crisp to it accompanied by a lovely crunch around around the edges. The best of the two was the Corn Beef Hash Breakfast Wrap! The Corn Beef was extremely flavorful and the potatoes they added to the wrap were seasoned and tender. The Corn Beef Hash Breakfast wrap is an exemplary to-go breakfast item. I thoroughly enjoyed both! The staff is really kind, and the customer service was amazing. The ambiance is impeccable as well too, makes you want to sit down and enjoy your breakfast. I would HIGHLY recommend, Village Street Eatery, to anyone in the Maplewood area.
