Cute & cozy with yummy food and tasty drinks. Service was great as well. Went for a birthday dinner and it was delightful. Appetizers & signature drinks and then a sit-down dinner with 3-courses. JC best kept secret!
The Roxy provided an incredible evening from start to finish. Our waiter, Bruce, was exceptionally welcoming and brought a warm, inviting energy to our table. We started with the ahi tuna tartare, which was simply fantastic; the freshness and richness of the fish were unmatched, and every bite had the perfect firmness. The Roxy is a solid spot with a few flaws, though it brings a fresh and beautiful energy to the neighborhood. The staff is amazing, and the service is excellent, with a sweet and thorough server. The cocktails are always so good, and the menu feels really innovative and ever evolving. The Ricotta Gnocchi was deliciously creamy and cooked perfectly, and the duck breast was tender with a crispy skin paired deliciously with its cherry jus. However, the faroe island salmon was overcooked and quite bland. The food is delicious and flavorful, but the high price tag did not really justify the small portion of the gnocchi or the underwhelming salmon. The ambiance is warm, welcoming, and modern, providing a comfortable dining experience. The Roxy is easily one of the favorite restaurants in Jersey City and is definitely a gem not to be missed, though it could be awesome with some refinements and a bit more pet-friendly.
