They did not half a** anything. Their eggrolls are a must try, extremely fresh!We are originally from Brooklyn, NY, so we had our share of Chinese takeout… so if we are traveling 30 mins both ways for Chinese takeout, that should say a lot. “This is the only place I feel safe ordering in from as someone with food allergies. I have a dairy and gluten allergy and they are so accommodating with the dishes. You get big portions for a good price and the food is always so fresh. I also have a super stomach with some problems so I always feel icky eating out and since the food is cooked in high quality oil I never feel icky after eating here which is SO rare for me. The owner is incredibly kind and told me how she also has food allergies and is happy to make modifications and help. It’s so rare that restaurants welcome modifications and she always does so for me. I’ve never gotten sick here and it’s the one restaurant I feel comfortable ordering in from and look forward to doing so every week. The entire staff is helpful and are always kind and respectful even when the phone is ringing like crazy and there’s a line for pick up. They never rush you and always make you feel welcome. “A small takeout Chinese eatery with a fairly standard menu selection bearing high average prices. Hong Kong Express serves americanized Chinese fare. Set in a small strip mall, there seems to be adequate parking. Upon entering, the first impression is clean. Featuring newer furnishings, decor and construction. As a child took my order and payment, this is clearly a family business.
So I've only had one dish at this place. I can say for freshness of ingredients, it's excellent. For amount of meat added, average. Unfortunately my dish was extremely bland. I had to add 7 packets of various sauce and that was still not enough. As I make this dish at home, the main sauce is soy. I wish I had grabbed more.
Speaking of sauce, no sauce, forks, chopsticks or napkins were added or offered. I'm glad I checked and added on my own.
This business succeeds in 2 major ways most other Chinese places don't (freshness and cleanliness). I hope I just caught an off dish. I'd return, but until I had a better dish, I wouldn't recommend.“

“China Garden is definitely one of the best spots around if you’re looking for affordable and delicious Chinese takeout. The food is consistently good — flavorful, fresh, and satisfying. When you pick up your order directly, the prices are very reasonable. I spent about $18 for two full meals, which is a great deal considering the portion sizes.

One of the things about living in this area is that there's no shortage of great places to pick up a meal and this absolutely applies to Chinese food. \n\nLams is a little bit further out than my regular place but the quality here may make me want to travel the extra miles. \n\nI ordered Beef and Bean Curd with a pork egg roll and got in on a few steamed pork dumplings too. \n\nThe Beef and Bean Curd was perfectly cooked. The vegetables they used were all cooked perfectly. They were all drenched in a delectable brown sauce and snapped when you bit them. The egg roll was a bit greasy but more meaty than the ones that are usually available in this area. Appreciated! And the dumplings are clearly the ones are prepared on site and not just bought from a wholesaler. And I LOVE that. \n\nMy daughter ordered chicken lo mein. You can just tell by the color of the dish how awesome it tasted. \n\nSo yes I still have a solid Chinese place that I will return to and review. But in the mean time, New Lams Garden is more than just an adequate substitute. \n\nPoints were deducted for clunky website with no ability to order online.\n\nOverall Rating: A-\n\nPS--- best thing about Chinese food is LEFTOVERS! “We were planning a big party at our HOA and after trying almost a dozen Chinese Restaurants, that did catering, we tried Cheng Garden.
We knew we'd found gold when every dish we tested tasted like what we ordered, instead of all having one flavor. The chicken, beef & pork were tender and not fatty, the vegetables were fresh and crispy and the flavors were delightful.
They couldn't have been more helpful or pleasant to deal with and their prices were right in line.
On the day of the party, all the trays were ready for pick up at the specified time, packed in boxes and piping hot. One box was accidentally left behind and Cheng Garden immediately ran it over.
But the best part of all was that everyone loved the food. The party was in June and we're still getting great reviews and members requesting Cheng's address.

Alright, folks, gather ‘round. I have a story to tell. I recently moved back to Jersey from Florida, and if you’ve ever lived in Florida, you know two things: 1) Alligators will steal your golf balls, and 2) They have no idea how to make good Chinese food. Seriously, I don’t know what’s going on down there, but I’ve had dumplings in Florida that tasted like they had an identity crisis halfway through cooking.

But then, this place happened.

I ordered (purely in the name of science, of course), and I swear on my fortune cookie—I have seen the light.

Let’s break it down:

Pork Fried Rice – Perfectly seasoned, fluffy, with that little hint of wok magic that tells me someone back there knows what they’re doing. This isn’t just rice; this is a lifestyle choice.

10-Piece Crabmeat Rangoons – I took a bite and immediately questioned every life decision that led me to eat subpar rangoons in the past. Crispy? Check. Creamy? Check. So addictive I’d trade my Netflix password for another order? Check.

Chicken and Broccoli – I think it hugged me from the inside. The chicken was tender, the sauce was divine, and the broccoli wasn’t that sad, overcooked mess some places give you. No, this was vibrant, fresh, and ready to be devoured.

Now, here’s the thing—I don’t just like this place. I am now in a full-blown, committed relationship with this restaurant. I will be talking about it at parties. I will be bringing out-of-town guests here like I personally own stock in it. And I will not rest until I have left a five-star review on every single platform known to mankind. Google? Done. Yelp? Already there. Carrier pigeon message straight to their kitchen? Give me time.

In fact, I’m already researching pigeon care because if that’s what it takes to support this mission, then so be it. I will foster a pigeon. I will name it Lo Mein and train it to deliver handwritten praise directly to the chefs.

And to anyone who dares say anything bad about this food—I’m convinced you have burned off all your taste buds. The only possible explanation is that you’ve been eating nothing but plain porridge your entire life and now mistake "flavor" for a personal attack. Seek help. Seek seasoning. Seek this restaurant.

Whoever is back there making this food, just know—I appreciate you. I see you. I love you. Expect me back. Probably too often. Possibly enough to be concerning.
