“Amazingly fresh breads. Baked daily ??
They also serve breakfast and lunch sandwiches.
My pick is definitely any of the sandwiches with fresh mozzarella ?
Located in the Village section of downtown on Newark Ave. They do get quite busy during lunch time so plan accordingly ?
An important note: Cash Only ? ? inside.“

“As a fat man and a traveler, I've had pastries from all over the world. And these are as good as Ive had anywhere. And the eggs were cooked perfectly on my sandwich. And no one ever cooks eggs perfectly. 5 Stars!“

“The eggs are incredibly soft. I recommend the sausage jalapeño sandwich as it gives you more flavor vs. the bacon sandwich.
Americano is delicious.
Service is great.
It gets busy quick and even after morning rush hour there’s a line but that’s about the only negative thing of this place.“

“This place is a hidden gem that delivers quality sandwiches for breakfast and lunch. I’m working my way through the menu and haven’t been disappointed yet. We all know Jersey City doesn’t have good bagels, so I come here for a sausage egg and provolone on a roll and it’s perfect. For lunch, my favorite has honestly been the meatball sandwich - they’re tender and have a slight spice in the sauce. Turkey sandwich too! They can’t miss here.“

“Dana is an absolute gem!! Always cheerful when I see her! I'm a dog walker and she's said hello to my pups a few times. Gave us some amazing coffee and pastries as well ? I feel so bad I forgot the employees name who made me the coffee but it was delicious!! Absolutely recommend coming here. Very affordable and good quantities! Beautiful atmosphere. Can't believe I've never been inside til today!“

“Hometown favorite Neptune Bakery & Deli has been a staple in Jersey a while now. There is not one custard cake I’ll exchange theirs for someone else’s. Truly delicious! ??
However, like everywhere else prices have gone up now $18.65/dozen. Still worth it IMO! ??“

“Great pizza. Definitely pure Italian. Love the staff there. Try a slice with sausage and it's wonderfully delicious. The bread is perfect.“

“Tried their humitas for the first time and I really liked them. Need to try their tamales next time. $4 for a humita is reasonable. I eat a more plant-based diet so corn with cheese is perfect.
Service is great and owner is friendly and helpful.
Haven’t tried their baked goods yet because I’m always concerned with freshness whenever I visit a bakery but maybe I’ll try it sometime in the future.“

“The best in town for eggless cakes!!! I had the opportunity to taste the masterpiece of a cake by then yesterday at a temple and may I say, it was the best I had ever tasted!!! You guys must go to this place if you want to have an amazing cake which is also eggless, heaven for vegetarians!!!“

“Excellent bakery. Lots of quality and a nice variety of baked goods. My only complaint is that even though the espresso I had was made correctly, I didn't feel the "taste" was there. Must be a domestically made coffee. Wish they would use a true Italian espresso like Illy at the least. Other than that I'll be back.“

“Whatever this small bakery sells iiiiiis DELICIOUS. Love their cakes aaaand brownies are to die for.
Staff is always extremely nice and friendly even the owners are sometimes in the store which is nice to see these days.
They also serve a few home made dishes if you feel lazy to cook .
Place is always clean and their prices are very reasonable for today's high cost living.
Recommend to everyone“

“When you come inside, you can smell freshly baked breads which is welcomingly inviting. This bakery is shared with a restaurant called Cafe Pilipino. I didn't know that there are two separate cashiers when we went to pay the baked goods and juices. Anyway, the baked goods tasted soft and fresh and not too sweet. The downside is the cramped parking and hard to get out since there's only one way out. They should have a one-way going in and another way to go out and around the building. Otherwise, better to park on the street even if you have to pay in order to avoid this chaos.“

“Always delicious. The best pastries and baked bread in Northern NJ. Staff is convivial and accommodating. I love everything they make and have been coming here for over 7 years now. Great female owned business that has grown to 4 locations in 10 years and such an essential part of the community.“

“Amazing petits fours and great lattes! One of our faves!“
“This place has been in business since 2001 and the owners are blessed ?? to still be up and running. I was 19 when I first ate from here and I am almost 40 years old. The owners have always been good people and they never hiked up the price to rob the community. This tray was considered small and it was priced at $11 and the drink was $2.50. To be able to enjoy a delicious meal for that price is a blessing ?? I was able to eat 3x out of this one tray! Meat tender mac and cheese cheesy it's flavorful as hell! Wishing this establishment many more years of serving and servicing the community!“
“The BEST Macarons I’ve ever tried by far!!! Way way better than Laduree Macaroons in Paris or any macaroons I’ve ever tasted in Europe & in the US. Every single flavor has a distinct taste!! Quadruple yummm 😋 A Must Try Guys!!“

“I always come for the mamon, their cake prices have increased. I remember when the cakes were $29.99 like 3 years ago now the rectangular cake is $43.99. The mango one cost more. The empanadas and pan de sal sandwich is also good. Small dining area , parking can be hard depending on time and day.“

“I came across Karen bakery randomly while looking for bakeries in the JC area. The store is unassuming and the smell of fresh baked bread hits you as you enter. It was amazing to see the carts full of freshly baked carbs. There were no menus so, it was a little confusing trying to figure out what to get. Ended up getting a bag of buttermilk bread and a box of basbousa (sweet semolina cake). The buttermilk bread was gigantic! Probably measured at least 12"x12". It's a flatbread with many layers, seems like it would be good to dip with soup or use as a wrap. The basbousa was satisfyingly sweet, with a gritty texture because of the semolina but would pair very well with some tea for an afternoon snack. Can't wait to return to try out some other baked goods.“

“This place is amazing! I almost don't want to draw attention to it because it's still a hidden gem in the downtown area. The number 5 on pepperoni bread is a must try. You will not be disappointed. This place is cash only and they are closed on Mondays.“

“GOOD LOCAL BAKERY. Small spaced. A few options of bakery, not a lot but they are of high quality. A chocorate crossaint will run you $6.50. A small Americano at $4.30. The staffs are always kind and helpful. Great to stop by after borrow a couple of books from the near by library. Just wished the bakery was a little more affordable in terms of pricing.“

“We picked up various sweets for a corporate event and the owners were spectacular to work with! We ordered macarons, donuts, cake balls, cookies and cannolis. Everyone at the office raved about the cannolis, how beautiful the cake balls were and I personally LOVED the donut I tired. Everything was packaged well and our order was curated with attention to detail. I highly recommend this bakery!“

“All of the ice cream is really good. Not sure if they do any seasonal flavors though, that would be really interesting. The cookies are good too but are on the super-sweet side; can be too sweet for the average adult, but perfect for any sugar lover!“

“I enjoyed the avocado croissant, which was garnished with thin slices of radish and cucumber and also had a side of potatoes that practically melted in my mouth and was served (in my opinion) as a sharable portion. I plan to return to try something different next time.“

“Very cozy, local place, yet they have a really good bagel with a non-dairy tofu cream cheese option! He also had some almond milk behind the counter for coffee, if you ask.
If you can't find the entrance, the door is aaaall the way to the right, seemingly past the cafe itself.“
“The Reese’s Pieces Cookie Cake was absolutely amazing!!! It was fresh and delicious and we couldn’t stop eating it!!! The customer service was also fabulous. This company went above and beyond to answer my millions of questions and to make sure that I received exactly what I wanted. Thank you!!!“

“Glad that bump into this place by accident. I was suppose to go to the other cafe and immediately LACK my eye with it. I’ve been there twice in a roll. Cute & artsy cafe where you can find spacious seats, art work, books that spark your creativity & inspiration, great place to mingle. Such a gem in JC, and I would love to bring my friends over.
If the owner saw my review, pls HMU and I’d love to meet ya and I’m a designer if you need any helps!
Kid-friendliness: People bring their chairs and it’s doesn’t cause any trouble“
