“Ahh! Such a beautiful date night at Cellar 335. Advance reservations are necessary to ensure that you get a table. We went on a Saturday night and the place was packed. The restaurant is in the basement and has a speakeasy vibe to it.The food and the drinks were unique and delicious. For food, we tried the avocado fried rice (customized without egg), the crispy tofu bao buns and the spicy cornbread - the portion sizes were great too. For drinks we had Shipwrecked (the best!), Pole star and a spicy drink. They did not have many of the cocktails on the menu so best check with them before you decide on one. Definitely ask for the dessert menu - we tried the passion fruit panna cotta and it was the best way to end the meal! Our hostess, Alli was very nice and friendly. This restaurant is expensive, but definitely worth a visit for the lovely ambience and the great food/drinks.Vegetarian options: There are some great vegetarian options available and a few others can be customised and be made vegetarian.“

“Came into this place with high expectations and just about everything lived up to the hype. Unmatchable atmosphere and design. Incredible cocktails, tasty snacks. The only negative was our service. Our server did not have a lot of interest in helping us and her attitude didn't seem to match everything else. The bartenders making the drinks seemed a lot more personable, to the point where I wished we were sitting at the bar being helped by them. Either way, make a reservation and get in here!“

“We did not get any food but I’m sure it’s amazing. The service and atmosphere in this place is off the charts awesome. Kitty is the absolute best. We walked in without a reservation and they got us in right away and everyone was so helpful finding us a drink that we would like. Their menu is huge so that was a big help. This is a must stop for anyone that loves cool Polynesian bars, (they also talk about how they’re trying to build on the experience of tiki, and acknowledge that tiki is appropriated and they are trying to improve and pay homage to it). I love this place and will definitely be back very soon hopefully!Dietary restrictions: They have a super awesome “key” system to let you know of alcohol strength and different allergens in all cocktails and food.“

“Overall rating: 4.3I’ve been wanting to go here ever since I heard they serve $5 chicken sandwiches! I went around 6:45 and sat at the bar. The decor is def a vibe and hardcore beach vibes holding true to the name. When I sat down, I realized there’s a happy hour on drinks until 7. I was so happy. But while the bartender saw me eventually, he didn’t actually take my order until 6:58pm ?? I was so anxious!! One bartender for a large location, plus for servers is insane. I sat against the window side, and he mostly hovered around the front of the bar and the back. Basically every side except mine. Thankfully he did honor the hh & what a steal! $13 instead of $18 pina colada. It was strong tooo. It was, so, good that even though I had terrible service I’m going to come back for that pina colada. I just won’t sit in the area I sat at.The Pink Wave chicken sandwich was alright. It’s weird that it comes in a to go bag vs a plate. It was equivalent to a McDonald’s burger. Don’t come with high expectations. It’s $5 for a reason.Another odd thing about the place is that the music was random. A lot of 90s hip hop, some bops and some random. I’m surprised they don’t keep to the theme and only play reggae. They also were screening Mamma Mia that no one was watching. The place has a lot of potential but there were definitely some big misses.Total was $22 all in with tip. Recommend for a quick happy hour. I’m sure the outside experience is totally different too.“

“So happy I stumbled upon this place a few weeks ago! It’s right next to the theater district so it’s a fabulous place for pre-show drinks in a fun environment. The happy hour drinks are delicious and the atmosphere makes you feel like you are entering an exclusive tiki lounge. I’ve been back several times and the service is always amazing and makes you feel welcomed. Most recently we went to celebrate my friend who is getting married and the whole staff (including the piano player) made her feel extra special. Huge thanks to the Friki Tiki staff ?“

“Zig Zag is a funky eclectic tiki bar with really well priced cocktails. The drinks are delicious and on point. I loved their Naked & Famous and their Paper Plane. The bartender was attentive and chill. This place is all about the decor though. If in the heart of BedStuy I highly recommend.“

“Went to watch my friend Chelsea Glaze perform! The staff was very friendly and the bartender was so sweet and kept her cool when it was only her working and getting swamped with orders. If you’re a musician looking for a place to play, I recommend this place. The drinks can be a bit pricy so if you’re going out one night or you’re planning to see a show, I recommend pre gaming and then just getting a drink or two when you get there. All in all, we had a lot of fun and it was a great show!“

“Love this bar, you feel like you're on vacation, love the sand in the floor. We had the Peruvian chicken skewers (2 nice size skewers) def worth every cent. And they give you the most creamy green sauce (not spicy) to dip them in. Que rico! We will def be back, great service, the staff is always smiling and so friendly. You must visit! #itsjessnyc“

Abe's Ice Cream Ice Cream Shop •
5 Lorimer St, Brooklyn - 6.76 miles

“Unexpected stop at Abe's for a quick drink before Brooklan. Very cool laid back vibe. So when you sit in a seat like the one I took a picture of below no one comes up to you. That's the only downside to service. You'd have to go up to the bar and order. Drinks were pretty good for happy hour. The food was even better! Buffalo wings were sooo tasty and HUGE, which is so worth it. The chicken sandwich was also very good. I will say that salad blows all of it out the water! Not only was it all so fresh, it was huge! I just never expected Sugar Snap Pea, Edamame, Red Watercress, Pea Tendrils, Horseradish, Black Sesame, & Yuzu Kosho Ranch to be such a mind blowing combo! 10/10 recommend!“

“Great spot for a casual night at the bar. A friend booked the back for his birthday with about 30 of his friends and it was a good space. You also have the option of stepping outside of the back area into the main area and there were comfy chairs and sofas around. I appreciate that they had a water dispenser at the end of the bar (near the restrooms) for us to self serve water. I also saw a bunch of board games stacked to the side. So this is a perfect spot for a casual night out with friends that feel like you're at home but you're not really at home. I'd highly recommend this spot. One thing to note - my partner left his credit card here and came back the next day to pick it up but they auto closed it out with 20% tip. It wasn't the biggest deal but it also felt weird that someone closed it out for you and auto added 20%.“
