“We’ve been living in the area for 3 years and Peppercorn is our favorite Chinese restaurant! The food is great and service is phenomenal (especially the store manager!) The food quality is nice even with take out. Will definitely come back more ?“

“It’s always on my top of the list in Chinese cuisine in Jersey City area. It’s even better than my Chinese food in NYC. Except it’s a bit far to walk. It’s really delicious, but of course you have to know how to order. For example, don’t order Cantonese food at a Sichuan restaurant. It is a kitchen restaurant in Jersey City. The price is also very good, and it is not a pre-made dish. If you can tolerate spicy food, remember to order the beef with tofu curd.
Seriously, can the boss open a meal card service?“

“When in the mood for Chinese food we’ll stop everything, pre-order, get in the car and drive here for pickup. Food is consistently delicious with bold flavors that will crush any cravings. The offerings are plentiful ranging from simple to spicy to some really authentic stuff which I will at some point try.Although I’ve never eaten in, the restaurant is quiet and perfectly suited for sit down.FUN FACT - they only take Visa and cash.“

“After months of hearing Chengdu 23 advertised on 105.5 WDHA, my wife and I decided to try it this evening. we were not disappointed! From the minute we walked in the door, our experience was 100% positive. The service was fast, courteous, and intuitive. The food was sublime. This is not your run of the mill Chinese food restaurant. I rate it seven out of five stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (I never claimed to be a math whiz!)“

“This is my " go to" Chinese restaurant when in Jersey on a workday. Closest to authentic Chinese food one can taste only in Asia. Only downside? No private parking for customers, but considering the location (on Grove St 1 block from Christopher Columbus Ave), you could be admitted to the psych floor for delusional thinking! Seriously, if your idea of chinese food is NOT fried chicken wings with chow mein (especially if you're a fan of frog legs dishes), have at it! You've been warned!“

“Outrageously good and authentic Szechuan cuisine, nothing else like it in town . Order the fish with tofu, it’s excellent.“

“Best Szechuan in town!I recommend Dining-in for the Szechuan/House Specialties dishes. They must be served hot on a plate, take-out containers don't do it justice!!I personally recommend the H22 boiled fresh fish filet, or the H4 bean curd fish filet. Their dumplings are great as well!“

“The food is so good.
The food is very good, we were delighted and I would return without thinking twice. It has no comparison with Chinese street food. I would spend the same and without quality, this restaurant is very good. I recommend it 100%.“

“Love this place. Delicious food and a nice ambiance for dining in. They are super flexible with BYOB. We love both coming in and getting take out from them. We also order a lot and take stuff home. My family faves are all the dry pots, my son loves the ribs, we all love the string beans and eggplant.
Vegetarian options: Good tofu options (general Tso’s fried tofu, mapo tofu, sesame tofu etc.) and lots of veggie dishes (string beans, eggplant, pea shots, cucumber dish, broccoli)“
“Went with a group of friends tonight and from the first bite to the last, we kept raving about every dish we ordered. Sooo delicious! We ordered the dry pot chicken, the hot sauce fish, the cumin lamb, chongqing pepper chicken, string beans, and eggplant. Look forward to going back again when I’m in the area! ?“

“I ordered the chicken lo mein, roast pork egg roll, and scallion pancakes by takeout recently. The food arrived ridiculously fast and was hot and delicious. I wish there had been more scallions in the pancakes but they were still good. Portion sizes were good for a single person. I often expect more Chinese food for the price but everything was classically cooked. I would order from here again the menu is extensive.“

“Second time here and it didn’t disappoint!!! We got the bass fish with garlic flavor medium spice level. For add on to the fish we had the tofu, beef and noodles. It was so worth the extra add on. For the BBQ we got , the squid, the garlic oyster, the beef and the lamb. It was all cool too perfection. It was so so so so yummy. I enjoyed it a lot. It wasn’t busy and food came out quickly. Best of all, the fish wasn’t too salty. I’ll come again“

“The food is good but the delivery fee was kind of pricy. 0.8 mile, $9 delivery fee for $39 food. No receipt attached the delivery lady just told me how much is the total. Kind of surprised by it. Next time I think I’ll just order to go. Lol couldn’t afford the delivery fee plus tip“
