“If Chengdu1’s rating is EVER under a 4, that is just crazy to me. And trust that it’s probably because someone tried this delicious restaurant’s food and couldn’t handle the spice or full flavor. Hence unfairly lower ratings.
I’ve tried many things on the menu and each item is always prepared perfectly, with fresh ingredients, balanced flavor, powerful heat where there needs to be, all while having a pretty extensive menu.
From an Asian person - this place is LEGIT, and I’ll order from Chengdu1 ALL DAY. Hits the spot every time and I order a feast…just for me. Even though they send about 4-5 sets of chopsticks and utensils thinking it’s for a large group 😆“

“Always passed by this place... what a mistake. I was amazed by the szechuan food!!! The spicy spliced fish // the fish cabbage soup // bokchoy is so flavorful. It's a hole in the wall restaurant, of course service isn't going to be michelin star grade. but the food is authentic flavorful and relatively cheap for the area, and the serving size is impressive. will keep going back, will bring friends.“
“Went with a group of friends tonight and from the first bite to the last, we kept raving about every dish we ordered. Sooo delicious! We ordered the dry pot chicken, the hot sauce fish, the cumin lamb, chongqing pepper chicken, string beans, and eggplant. Look forward to going back again when I’m in the area! ?“

“What a treasure! Everything we ate here was amazing, the lightest scallion pancake ever, the spiciest soft shell crab, tea smoked duck that was like the best Carolina barbecue ever. The bean curd with pepper oil. All of it. Cocktails were banging too. And the servers were all fantastic too. Even the ink was top shelf!“

“I absolutely love Fan Szechuan and I will gladly come way out of my way just to get my hands on their chicken lo mein. The flavor is incredible, perfectly savory, and easily some of the best noodles you can find around. That being said, trying to order from here can honestly be a bit of a nightmare. Calling them over the phone is gets tough at times because of language barriers and thick accents so you really have to be a patient kind of person, especially if you want substitutions or multiple items. It doesn't help that their online menu is outdated and they don't carry some of the items listed anymore. Also, if you want broccoli in your chicken lo mein, they get you with an extra charge. Fine and standard. However, even after paying extra, they only give you a comically trace amount of it. Seriously, you can count the pieces on one hand.
And yet, I completely forgive all of that. The food just tastes so great every single time that the minor headaches are totally worth it to me. If you want top-tier comfort food, just put up with the janky ordering process and get the chicken or vegetable lo mein. Can't go wrong with it.“

“William is incredible! Ye’s has been on our list for awhile and we got the chance today to wander in. We wanted a quick drink to celebrate the sun. William guided us in the right direction <3 we had the HK milk punch, Sichuan old fashioned, wings, and money bag dumplings. Perfect way to start the evening and everything was delicious. Come try the baiju for a unique liquor experience.“

“Honestly my favorite Chinese place in NYC. A hidden gem in the neighborhood that is so good I want to keep this place a secret. Every single menu is perfectly prepared, sauce and seasoning is just right, and the ingredients feel fresh with generous portions. Great lunch deal as well! Big and clean space.“

“Insane drinks made by Bonnie (the Jasmine Fall and the Cherry Old Fashioned) the flavors were unlike anything else we’ve ever had. Will be dreaming about the Jasmine Fall. Same with the food - absolutely amazing dumplings. Also - drinks were buy one get one free because it was late night. Bonnie is the best - she was so helpful and kind when it came to helping us narrow down what we wanted!“

“We have been coming to Birds of a Feather for unbeatably delicious Sichuan food for years, and recently had our engagement party in the main room. We can't praise the event team, kitchen, and bar staff enough! The food was exceptional as always, and the service was wonderfully attentive and gracious. Plenty of options for vegetarian friends as well. Will continue to come back to Birds any time we want a perfect meal.“

“Han Dynasty is one of my go-to restaurants for quality Chinese food in NYC. It is not a hole-in-the-wall establishment like many of the other Chinese restaurants in the city (not that there’s anything wrong with that). The space is large and comfortable, and the food is consistently delicious with very good drink options. The price point is also reasonable considering the location. I like how the menu specifies the spice level of each dish on a scale of 1-10, although I find the calibration to be more American rather than Szechuan spice levels, no surprise. But if you need a real hit just ask for an 11 and the chef will deliver.“

“Came by on a Friday night and it was pretty busy but luckily I joined the waitlist so I didn't have to physically wait there. First off the atmosphere was pretty nice, music playing in the background and big screen playing the MTV in the back of the store. The menu was had a few interesting cold dishes and also skewers on top of the fish menu. I was disappointed with the fish as it wasn't very flavorful, there was garlic that was minced but not enough. There was also a bunch of garlics that was in a single garlics from the cover but barely added any flavor. The service was great because the staff came by to ask us how was the food and we briefly mentioned it's lacking in flavor so he brought the fish back in and had the more garlics added. The flavor was so not as flavorful as I was hoping which is a personal preference, it felt like something was missing. I usually go to Xun Yu Si Kao which is a bit more rundown but makes their spicy fish very garlicky. It was a good experience but the food was not good enough for me to want to come back.“

“Only one chef on the line. Very kind, but was scolded for "you have to call in first". Otherwise a great corner Chinese spot.
Vegetarian options: Yes, ask.
Kid-friendliness: There's a kid running around the restaurant all the time.
Dietary restrictions: Just ask“

“Dan Dan noodles and soup dumplings were very good! Beef cumin dish was good but spicy and the numbing oil stays true to its name! Just ask for less spice if you’re sensitive. I love spice but that cumin dish was a lot. Overall everything was very good.“
“Always wanted to try this place.
Let’s start with the pros. Definitely worth the hype. Make sure to get the egg burrata dip with extra fried dough. I would skip the truffle ravioli. It sounded interesting, but was just okay. We also got the peppercorn fish stew which is always staple. Overall, foodwise, I appreciated the play on italian Szechuan food, but I would definitely research a bit beforehand for what to order.
Okay, now the cons. I will say, I thought they were known for their cocktails, but they were just okay so I think you can skip these unless you want to pair.
My one other complaint was that this was our anniversary dinner and we did mention it in our resy reservation, so we were wondering if they would prepare a little something, but they didn’t even congratulate us. Pretty sure this was an oversight, but this was my nitpick and for these reasons I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5.
Otherwise, highly recommend coming here with a big group to try multiple dishes!“

“Tender kung pao chicken + crunchy peanuts and snappy green beans. Everything was perfect. Not an obscene amount of dried red chiles. Wait staff was patient and had good sense of timing. 稔is a meaningful name, made me feel abundant even if the space was simple and bare.“

“After working extremely hard all day, all I wanted was a good vegan meal.
My original plan was to visit Spicy Moon on 8th Avenue, but due to technical difficulties and staffing on their end, I ended up heading over to the West 3rd Street location instead. No complaints from me. I'm not about problems, I'm about solutions, and Spicy Moon West 3rd became the solution.
As soon as I called to make sure they were open, I spoke with the one and only Khalil, who was the real deal. Professional, welcoming, and helpful from the very beginning.
When I arrived, Khalil welcomed me in, and Ole was there as well. I sat down, ordered my meal, and enjoyed every bite. The chili noodles and ramen reminded me of my time in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I wish it came with Chiang Mai prices, but we're in New York City, and that's another story.
What mattered most was the experience. From beginning to middle to end, I was a satisfied customer.
This wasn't my first positive experience with the team. I remember my first encounter with Ole and Jorge, and once again the customer service, hospitality, and food did not disappoint.
The ramen was absolutely amazing, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was on point.
Shout out to Ole, Khalil, and Jorge for making sure a long day ended on a high note.
A satisfied customer.“

“I was craving some dumplings and I walked by Chairman Sun and saw their menu had just what I wanted!
The Pork Soup Dumplings were a 5/5. Full of flavor and the perfect texture. The soy sauce and flavor of the pork matched perfectly.
My Scallion Cucumber salad was a perfect flavor profile for me as a I love a garlic moment. The dressing was drinkable…and the cucumber cuts were hardy and a perfect fresh bite.
Lastly, the spring rolls, solid and great flavor.
Kind staff and great ambience.
Loved my time here!“

“I highly recommend their famous pork spicy appetizer. It was our 4th times in this place. I would say their meat is high quality because you can tell from the flavor itself. This is our couples favorite Sichuan place. Tonight, we tried SeaBass Mala it was delicious but too spicy but we’ve finish it 😄😛😋“

“I got the spicy beef noodle soup and the dumplings in chili oil. I thought the soup was decent. I would have preferred it spicer and there wasn't a ton of beef in it. The broth wasn't super rich, but still had decent flavors. One of my favorite things about the soup were the pickled(?) bamboo shoots. It was actually probably my favorite thing in the soup! The dumplings were really good! The chili oil was another star of the meal and I ended up added some into my soup for more spice and flavor.“
