“I highly recommend their famous pork spicy appetizer. It was our 4th times in this place. I would say their meat is high quality because you can tell from the flavor itself. This is our couples favorite Sichuan place. Tonight, we tried SeaBass Mala it was delicious but too spicy but we’ve finish it 😄😛😋“

“If Chengdu1’s rating is EVER under a 4, that is just crazy to me. And trust that it’s probably because someone tried this delicious restaurant’s food and couldn’t handle the spice or full flavor. Hence unfairly lower ratings.
I’ve tried many things on the menu and each item is always prepared perfectly, with fresh ingredients, balanced flavor, powerful heat where there needs to be, all while having a pretty extensive menu.
From an Asian person - this place is LEGIT, and I’ll order from Chengdu1 ALL DAY. Hits the spot every time and I order a feast…just for me. Even though they send about 4-5 sets of chopsticks and utensils thinking it’s for a large group 😆“
“Went with a group of friends tonight and from the first bite to the last, we kept raving about every dish we ordered. Sooo delicious! We ordered the dry pot chicken, the hot sauce fish, the cumin lamb, chongqing pepper chicken, string beans, and eggplant. Look forward to going back again when I’m in the area! ?“

“Always passed by this place... what a mistake. I was amazed by the szechuan food!!! The spicy spliced fish // the fish cabbage soup // bokchoy is so flavorful. It's a hole in the wall restaurant, of course service isn't going to be michelin star grade. but the food is authentic flavorful and relatively cheap for the area, and the serving size is impressive. will keep going back, will bring friends.“

“Loved the ambience in this great little find! Having traveled to Sichuan province, I can attest that the food really has authentic flavors (albeit kinder to the American palette). The Juju cocktail is outstanding. Would definitely come back to this place try other dishes.“

“Chi Restaurant & Bar is incredible! We came in with a large party and they accommodated us perfectly, which meant we got to try almost everything on the menu. The food tasted totally authentic, yet somehow still fresh and fun. Seriously, it felt like every single dish we ordered topped the last one! The duck was absolutely fantastic, and the dim sum and veggies were just as amazing. Whatever you do, definitely don’t skip out on the cute desserts at the end. It's an awesome spot for a group dinner with top-tier food.“

“I absolutely love Fan Szechuan and I will gladly come way out of my way just to get my hands on their chicken lo mein. The flavor is incredible, perfectly savory, and easily some of the best noodles you can find around. That being said, trying to order from here can honestly be a bit of a nightmare. Calling them over the phone is gets tough at times because of language barriers and thick accents so you really have to be a patient kind of person, especially if you want substitutions or multiple items. It doesn't help that their online menu is outdated and they don't carry some of the items listed anymore. Also, if you want broccoli in your chicken lo mein, they get you with an extra charge. Fine and standard. However, even after paying extra, they only give you a comically trace amount of it. Seriously, you can count the pieces on one hand.
And yet, I completely forgive all of that. The food just tastes so great every single time that the minor headaches are totally worth it to me. If you want top-tier comfort food, just put up with the janky ordering process and get the chicken or vegetable lo mein. Can't go wrong with it.“

“LOVED this place! I am extremely picky about fresh Chinese food and this restaurant really delivered. Every dish was wonderfully seasoned - no thick or “old” tasting sauces. Service was excellent and the restaurant was clean and well kept. Highly recommend !“

“William is incredible! Ye’s has been on our list for awhile and we got the chance today to wander in. We wanted a quick drink to celebrate the sun. William guided us in the right direction <3 we had the HK milk punch, Sichuan old fashioned, wings, and money bag dumplings. Perfect way to start the evening and everything was delicious. Come try the baiju for a unique liquor experience.“

“Solid stuff but not as mind blowing as the other reviews say (though this depends if you’ve had good Chinese food before).
Fish was solid but a little too heavy on the batter to fish ratio. Eggplant was simple but good. The silken tofu was really solid texturally - might’ve been the standout dish for our meal.“

“Always wanted to try this place.
Let’s start with the pros. Definitely worth the hype. Make sure to get the egg burrata dip with extra fried dough. I would skip the truffle ravioli. It sounded interesting, but was just okay. We also got the peppercorn fish stew which is always staple. Overall, foodwise, I appreciated the play on italian Szechuan food, but I would definitely research a bit beforehand for what to order.
Okay, now the cons. I will say, I thought they were known for their cocktails, but they were just okay so I think you can skip these unless you want to pair.
My one other complaint was that this was our anniversary dinner and we did mention it in our resy reservation, so we were wondering if they would prepare a little something, but they didn’t even congratulate us. Pretty sure this was an oversight, but this was my nitpick and for these reasons I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5.
Otherwise, highly recommend coming here with a big group to try multiple dishes!“

“Such a nice homey meal. The mapo tofu and garlic eggplant (both with beef) were so flavorful and well-made. The drinks are made in-house as well and were delicious. We came in around ~5:30pm and there was not wait although it’s a relatively small space. At 7pm it was full. The peppercorn ice cream was a highlight because it’s a flavor I haven’t seen or tried before in ice cream, you can feel the warmth of the spice without the actual spiciness! It was delightful. The service was kind and food came out fast. Overall, great experience! Very satisfied“

“Started out with the duck, not bad, about what you world expect for a cold appetizer. The crawfish was really good, got all the flavor and such inside the meat and not just on the shells. My friend likes to drizzle the sauce on his rice but this one is a bit oily. The place is known for their fish and it is just that good. Really tender meat and crisp on the skin and fins. The soup really soaks up the flavor. Must add some enoki mushrooms. They are busy in the daily so come early or send a friend to wait in line for you.“

“Han Dynasty is one of my go-to restaurants for quality Chinese food in NYC. It is not a hole-in-the-wall establishment like many of the other Chinese restaurants in the city (not that there’s anything wrong with that). The space is large and comfortable, and the food is consistently delicious with very good drink options. The price point is also reasonable considering the location. I like how the menu specifies the spice level of each dish on a scale of 1-10, although I find the calibration to be more American rather than Szechuan spice levels, no surprise. But if you need a real hit just ask for an 11 and the chef will deliver.“

“Tender kung pao chicken + crunchy peanuts and snappy green beans. Everything was perfect. Not an obscene amount of dried red chiles. Wait staff was patient and had good sense of timing. 稔is a meaningful name, made me feel abundant even if the space was simple and bare.“

“Food is always good we have come here for years. The Whole Fish Filet w. Spicy Chili & Peppercorn in Broth is one of my favorite dishes in the city. Other dishes we always get are cumin lamb and fried tofu both 10/10. And tea of course.“

“When I moved to NYC, this is one of my first restaurants I tried and it’s been my favorite ever since. I always get the green beans and an ube mule. For a tofu dish, I either get the mapo tofu or dry pepper style. The food comes out so quick and is best shared — that way you can try more! Updated from previous review on 2026-08-15“

“I was craving some dumplings and I walked by Chairman Sun and saw their menu had just what I wanted!
The Pork Soup Dumplings were a 5/5. Full of flavor and the perfect texture. The soy sauce and flavor of the pork matched perfectly.
My Scallion Cucumber salad was a perfect flavor profile for me as a I love a garlic moment. The dressing was drinkable…and the cucumber cuts were hardy and a perfect fresh bite.
Lastly, the spring rolls, solid and great flavor.
Kind staff and great ambience.
Loved my time here!“

“If you're craving hot pot in the LIC area, this is a solid choice. Price obviously depends how much you get; dining as a party of 4, we spent around $50pp. Everything can be requested or ordered via the iPad (including a call service button), so there's limited direct contact with staff. I like how they provide bags for jackets to make sure not ALL of your possessions come out of the restaurant smelling like hotpot.
While it makes sense to have a big table to hold all of our ingredients, I felt the distance from one end to the table to the other was large! We had to raise our voices to talk to each other.
The sauce bar has the essentials as well as 2 side dishes (altho I don't remember what they were, I didn't end up getting them) and orange slices (we ate those at the end of the meal).
There is only one bathroom for the entire restaurant, so there was a bit of a line when I had to go.“
