Such a nice homey meal. The mapo tofu and garlic eggplant (both with beef) were so flavorful and well-made. The drinks are made in-house as well and were delicious. We came in around ~5:30pm and there was not wait although it’s a relatively small space. At 7pm it was full. The peppercorn ice cream was a highlight because it’s a flavor I haven’t seen or tried before in ice cream, you can feel the warmth of the spice without the actual spiciness! The mapo tofu was outstanding, packed with flavor and just the right amount of heat. Cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and excellent food. We tried a few different dishes and everything was well executed and full of flavor. One of those places that lives up to the reviews and is easy to recommend.
Believe in the hype- the mapo tofu really is delicious. It’s also a gigantic portion as well & the price is great. Do note that it is quite spicy- yes mapo tofu is typically spicy but I did find this to be particularly spicy haha. Mark, one of the servers, was attentive without being overbearing and just was good vibes all around. I’d definitely come back to try other things on the menu.
