“The food??? AMAZING!! The chicken wings got so much flavor and the rice is perfectly seasoned not too much not too little. Now my favorite thing??? That shrimp tempura poke bowl is AMAZINGGG. I literally will gladly take that 16 minute drive any day. Edit: ordered again today, got the same bowl but with brown rice due to diabetes, was SUPER GOOD. Will never complain !“

“We happened upon this gem purely by chance. We had an amazing meal from A-Z (!!!) The sushi is phenomenal; sit at the newly designed sushi bar in the back and enjoy unique daily catches that come in through the connections the owner has with local fishermen. The restaurant is also known for their aged steaks, and Kobe prime rib, which we will try next time. I had the miso black bass and it was one of the best flavors with fish I have ever had. The broth had such a delicate shiitake mushroom flavor, which I loved. I literally couldn’t have had enough of this delicate, delicious dish. I could have had two orders and eaten it all! I think this dish epitomizes what the word UMAMI means. I also had the sautéed mushroom extravaganza, a treat for every taste bud of incredible flavors melted with a delicate sauce. My husband had their unique collection of sushi and sashimi choices that were all enjoyed at their stunningly beautiful sushi bar, complete with two young, passionate chefs who love what they do, and treasure their personal designs of the fish and rolls. All the rolls are presented in this great wooden cradle design, which I thought was so unique and functional. The owner was all smiles and genuinely happy to have had us try his new restaurant. I recommend it highly for either an exceptional steak meal (all are btw, so reasonably priced so order them for sure), or the traditional sushi. You won’t be disappointed. This will be our weekly go-to restaurant and we are counting the days until we will return, which actually will be next Tuesday the 9th! “The omakase I had was one of the best I've had in Philadelphia! Before each course, there is a short and concise explanation from the chefs about where the fish comes from, how it's prepared, and what makes the fish unique. The service is another talking point as well with very attentive staff.“

Got the Chef's choice sushi and tuna/aji sushi and every piece was amazing and so fresh. “A gem in south philly and definitely the best sushi in the area. Super friendly service, always easy to get a table, and BYOB is a plus. The salmon lover's sushi entree is my go-to and is accompanied by a salad and soup. Haven't been disappointed with any of the rolls - always the perfect rice-to-fish ratio and all of the ingredients are super fresh.“

“My boyfriend and I wanted to try something new in the Northern Liberty area as we frequent the area quite a bit, and decided to give Yanaga a try. After just one dine in experience, it's become one of our new favorite spots to eat, and it's definitely on the restaurant rotation for when we go out to eat!

The place is very decked out with anime stickers, manga panels, and the like, while also playing different kinds of anime on the TVs they have on premise. I really recommend the spot, for just the food alone even if you don't like anime.“

“Excellent quality sushi. Very fresh and tasty. I told the server I was gluten free and she was knowledgeable...they also have gluten free soy sauce. I had the Treasure Roll (not on the menu but I saw it online), a Spicy Tuna Roll, and a Green Salad (Ginger Dressing was 10/10). Definitely a bit on the pricier side but worth it.“

“Fiancé and I stopped by because our other meal plans fell through. He’s had ramen before I have not. For my first experience it was absolutely fantastic! Tiny out of the way place which was cozy, sushi and sashimi were excellent and fresh, spicy miso ramen was unbelievable!! Portions were large as well so come hungry!! “If it’s your first omakase experience then you’ll like it. If you’ve had more expensive omakase before, then this one doesn’t really have the same experience factor. The quality of the fish was good but it was fast(less than 1h) and felt rushed. The sushi chef didn’t really explain anything other than state the obvious name of the fish. But it’s good for the price.“

“I think it’s my favorite take out sushi nowadays. Yes, we haven’t been served inside but we got multiple times take out and it’s pretty consistent and delicious! You know what is my favorite - it’s Tuna Hako Maki, it’s just what you want from tuna :) Volcano Maki is not what you think it’s better! Try it! Also my child likes chicken, so we get him Chicken Katsu and its generous portion and has sides, a lot of sides: miso soup, rice and sauce, salad too. It seems a good deal for Katsu dish. We tried other rolls too, so it’s good. Definitely will be getting again.“

“Been searching for good japanese restaurant for quite some time. Let me just say that Mikado far exceeded our expectations. From tge appetizers to dinner, it was exceptional. Our server, Michelle, was great. We had tge seared pepper tuna sushi app - so fresh and delicious. My husband had the hibachi with filet and lobster - amazing too. My son had the combo udon noodles - ate every bite! We had the tempura banana dessert - delicious as well as the chocolate mousse cake and coppa cafe. Amy at the front desk was so gracious and sweet. “We visited Kura Revolving Sushi Bar on a Friday during dinner time, and it was definitely busy, but the wait line moved surprisingly fast. The restaurant was clean and had a very interesting setup. It took us a few minutes to figure out how the food belt system worked, but once we got the hang of it, it was fun and unique! We tried sushi and some sushi wraps – the food was fresh and tasty, though the portions were small for the price. Overall, it’s a cool experience, but it can be a bit pricey. Worth a visit for the novelty!“

“First time trying out this place. We wanted to try a different Hibachi and my mom was searching some places and came across this one with great prices. It was my birthday today so that was the main reason we did Hibachi and it was a really nice time. It wasn’t as roomy as I thought it would be but it was still really nice. I got the salmon and it was okay not the greatest and they give you small petite. I’m used to a nice salmon from other places but never had salmon at a hibachi place before. The shrimp was really good and tasty. The vegetables and rice were great too. We got fried ice cream for dessert it was really delicious. We had a total of 6 people and the bill came to $243. I had a nice time overall. Would come again but I wouldn’t get the salmon. I’d get the shrimp. Also we had soup and salad and they were really delicious as well.“

Everything was incredibly fresh, and the presentation was beautiful. As soon as I put the trays out, everyone was impressed!

The staff was very friendly and helpful, and there were so many great options to choose from. Everyone at the party found something they loved, and the vegetarian options were especially well done and thoughtfully prepared, which I really appreciated.

I had the filet mignon and chicken and was barely able to eat everything. “I have ordered take out from Sakura several times and it always hits the spot. Because the restaurant is a repurposed Taco Bell (and still maintains that sweet 1990s Taco Bell architecture), it is incredibly convenient to swing through the drive-thru and collect fresh made hibachi and sushi.

One of our favorite dishes is the house fried rice, well made and packed with chicken, steak, and shrimp. Easy to share while trying a bunch of other dishes.

The restaurants pickup times have always been spot on, with our food being served hot. Portions are generous and prices are more than reasonable.“
