“The staff are all kind, helpful, accommodating, and genuinely there to make your evening perfect. Chris the hostess was wonderful, as well as the many servers who all willingly supported Gary, the owner, to provide the best service and culinary experience possible for his dinner guests. The menu is one of the best we have seen in the area with many international dishes, some with the labor intensive Indian nuances, and others just with downright phenomenal flavors. Although they have lots of standard fare for the UNadventurous eater, I would suggest you reach past your comfort zone and try some of the appetizers that jump out as potential winners...like the tuna tartare that with just a splash of Japanese Rice wine vinegar would be one of the best I have ever had, as well as the grilled Tandoori shrimp that is marinated in yogurt, ginger, cloves nutmeg, and dried mango; the grilled lamp chops that come with three perfectly grilled meaty garlicky chops that come with mango chutney, and the Haryali chicken Tikka- three huge plump boneless breast of chicken slices that are marinated in mint, yogurt, roasted cloves, green cardamom and star anise, and served with their famous tiger sauce and salsa. We also shared another marinated shredded beef dish special that had three beef croquette-shaped mounds that had such a umami of flavors I can't even replicate it in this review, but we thought it was just great. I would be remiss if I did not mention the creamy, silky crème brûlée that we enjoyed with a glass of Prosecco; a perfect encore to the phenomenal culinary treat we had just experienced with the appetizer medley. Sharing many apps is more fun we think, than committing to one big entree, so we suggest that you dash over to the Pittstown Inn TONIGHT, and tell them Debbie and Gene sent you....ask to meet Gary, the owner, who elegantly floats from table to table, touching each to greet them and to check later on as well to see if everything was to their liking. A true host from days gone by, this owner is the real deal whose passion for the hospitality business emulates from his constant smile from the joy he is getting from making his guests happy. You see that what fuels this man to keep opening his doors from year to year, despite the many hardships and setbacks life has dealt us all over and over, is his love for you, his loyal customer. He is a rare find, so I suggest you go and treat yourself to the real deal in dining. You will not be disappointed, and be sure to ask to meet Gary. He will make your visit complete. Kudos the phenomenal chefs I met as well, for their expertise and genuine ingenuity in designing a menu to please everyone. Can you tell we LOVE this place??????????“

Loved that the ingredients are clearly listed on each packet (real crab in the crab dip for those of us with shellfish allergies). Versatile flavors and makes great dips! Little pricey $30 for 7 packets but I felt it was worth it!“

Add to that delicious fresh food and you have a winner. Tonight we had fresh large shrimps with a most delicious home made cocktail sauce. Fresh crab cakes with a fabulous remoulade, and a chocolate mousse to die for as dessert. We ordered too much and have to save some for tomorrow. We live in town, and are happy to see the names of so many out of town visitors appreciate Chesapeake Tavern.“

It took some time before anyone came over to get our drink order and once placed it also took some time. It was a bit busy so no worries. We ordered an appetizer for table. The boneless chicken was very good and nachos were just average. Between the five of us there were two cheesesteaks and three burgers ordered. All were VERY good. I had the Westbound burger and it was cooked perfectly, juicy, full of flavor and just what I wanted. Everyone else had similar experience. The live band started to play and we were looking forward to staying for them but their music selection was not our taste. Overall I would go back again. Maybe service was an off night. Definitely try the burgers! And maybe a different band would have kept us there all night.“

“What can I say, Willies is one of our favorite spots. Great food, great drinks, excellent service and the friendliest bartenders around. While we typically go later to listen to the live bands, anytime we have had dinner there, food has always been delicious, generous portions and a nice presentation which you might not expect but are pleasantly surprised! The band last night was one of our favs and they played music that we enjoyed and also our young adult kids. Definitely our go to spot!!“
