“This is a 5 star review not because of the food (even though my sandwich was good) it's mainly for the service. It was a Saturday mid day and the line was the longest I've ever seen. These 3 youngsters were tired and drained but still kept their composure. They were a well oiled machine taking the orders inside the restaurant as well as the extensive online orders. Kudos to them because they CLEARLY needed help! “I always drive by this place and since my son is off, took him there. The staff was nice and made sure that us being there for the first time knew exactly what we were ordering. I got a turkey sandwich and my son got the chicken cutlet. Both sandwiches were amazing and my son complimented that this was the best he had and like wise same for me. “I'm leaving a review because I'm bothered by the review before me about the dirty floors. I have been going to Ronnie's since it's 3rd day in business. From the day I entered there through today, the foot traffic in that place is immense. Of course their floors will get dirty. The ongoing of customers from the time it opens until about 4:00 in the afternoon doesn't leave time to mop and if it did, where would the customers waiting stand? “Tried Ronnie's sandwich shop next door to the 122nd police precinct here on Staten Island yesterday. Got a Pastrami ruben sandwich and an Eggplant Parm sandwich. The pastrami Ruben was real good but the eggplant parm sandwich was a little on the salty side but still good anyway. Overall the place was pretty good and also pretty reasonable. Service came with a smile. Looking forward to trying their other stuff. Now my go to place for hot sandwiches.“
“I love a good sub and couldn't wait to give this spot a try. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and was greeted. I ordered from a nice young lady, Paige. I ordered the raging bull and the chipotle chicken wrap. It took about 10 minutes. The sandwiches were big and filling. I really enjoyed both sandwiches, especially the ragging bull. I also like the iced tea I drunk. All in all I had a good experience!“

Not enough to make a mess of my hands while I ate, but enough to sauce up the roll. Super delicious. They're also arranged on the sandwich so you get a bite of egg yolk in most bites, which is the optimal bite of a breakfast sandwich, imo.It's a cute little restaurant, too. “If you want old school Italian, this is the place for you. My family heard about the Belmont Tavern and decided to drive 40 minutes to check this place out. We arrived early on a Friday night, around 5:45PM. It is in a little bit of a rough area and finding parking on the street can be a challenge. The interior does not look like it's changed since it opened. Red and white checkered table cloths, wood paneled walls, and even a phone booth that lights up when you shut the door! All of the customers are all locals. The Tavern is known for their Shrimp Beeps and Chicken Savoy. My recommendation is the Shrimp Beeps over spaghetti. If you order more than one serving, it is served family style. Some of my family members ordered the Chicken Murphy and Chicken Savoy which are more like chicken parts rather than chicken breast. They both thought it was on the dry side. The service is good although we did feel a bit rushed since it was getting busy.“

“The two gentlemen behind the counter were very pleasant. They have a decent menu selection. For the most part, it does not matter if you get a half or a whole sub because you’re not getting a deal by getting the whole sub. Example: most half subs are $7.99 whereas the whole sub is $15.99. There are a few where the whole sub gives you a $.50 savings. Today I did get a cheesesteak with extra provolone cheese, onions, hot peppers and a special hot sauce that they make. I’m glad I got the extra cheese because it definitely needed that and the condiments that were on there were very good. The meat itself didn’t taste like anything special but it wasn’t bad. It seems all of their cold cuts are Thummann’s which is high-quality. I do believe that the cheesesteak sub needed more meat. The meat itself did not even cover the bread end to end. One one end of the sub there was nothing but the bread by about 1.5” and 2” of nothing at the other end. So about 3.5 inches of the 16 inch sub was just bread. In all reality, I believe you are better off going with a half cheesesteak and double everything so you get a full sandwich with half of the bread. I cannot speak for any other sandwich as this is the first time I was there and the only item that I did purchase, as far as the entrée goes. I did get a small thing of potato salad, which was some store-bought stuff just scooped into little containers that was just meh. My meal of a cheesesteak, small potato salad and a Diet Coke can came to just over $20.“

I had reviewed the menu and had come up with a figure of $300.00, which by my calculations would provide enough subs, salads and sides for all involved. Probably with some left over. Joe the owner and his employee Desire questioned me about the number of people I wished to serve, and at that point told me that I was ordering too much food! Upon Joe's advice, I ordered a menu which came to a final total of $215.00! Everything was delicious, and there was some left over, just as Joe supposed there would be. It was a nice, professional gesture on his part, and a good way to treat a customer.“

The lamb (gyro meat) over rice is very good, it tastes like it was homemade and not the generic factory ones. The long grain basmati is a standout and sets itself apart from the other trucks. The white sauce is a bit heavy like it was just Mayo thinned out with water. Also the hot pepper flakes is not spicy at all. Also I don't think they have the usual Halal truck hot sauce since he never puts any in when I order which is a missed opportunity since I love spicy foods.“

“I stumbled upon this place today and only went in because I noticed a pic of birria tacos outside. When I went in I was greeted by a friendly staff that smiled and warmly welcomed me. I asked the young cashier if their birria was good and he confidently responded yes, so I gave them a try. I have yet to try a birria that had sufficient flavor. So as I left, I joked with him that if they were not good, I would be bring them back. Again he confidently replied “no worries” with a smile on his face. When I got settled and took that first bite I was blown away. Even before using the consume you could taste all the wonderful flavors and seasonings paired with fresh onions and cilantro. Then add the consume in the mix and you are talking next level flavors. I don’t know about the other dishes they serve but these tacos will definitely have me visiting here a few times a month. Only downside was the price, four relatively small tacos came to $18 (but the flavor was worth it).“
“I was in Linden for a funeral and got to the train station an hour early. I'd never been to Linden, so I walked down to Wood Avenue in search of lunch and happened upon Big Blue Subs. I'm glad I did. The first thing that hit me was how sparkling clean the place was. The second thing was that they had Italian hot dogs, a delicacy unobtainable in Brooklyn and one I hadn't had in over 40 years. For the uninitiated, an Italian hot dog is a deep-fried beef hot dog (two if you're ordering a double as I did) smothered in grilled peppers and onions and topped with 1/2" thick deep-fried potato discs all nestled in a pillowy-soft pizza roll. I ordered a double and was told to take a seat at one of the sparkling clean tables and it would be brought out to me. My first impression was that this is one huge meal. I started in on the potato discs. The were nicely crispy outside and soft and nearly creamy inside. they were, despite being deep-fried, decidedly not greasy. Once I got through them, I started to eat the double dogs smothered in onions and peppers in that soft, fluffy roll. Despite being famished when I walked through the door, I couldn't get more than halfway through my perfect double Italian hot dog before I had to throw in the towel. I've had more than a few Italian hot dogs in my mis-spent youth, and they were usually soggy, greasy, delicious messes. My Big Blue Subs Double Italian Hot Dog was absolute perfection, It was not greasy, it was not soggy and even the potatoes were perfectly fried, but not greasy. If I'm ever back in Linden, I will definitely return!“
