“Great place owner is pretty cool . I had a reuben and a Italian sandwich. The Italian sandwich was my favorite more than the reuben very fresh. Parking is very hard to find I would recommend calling in advance and placing an order. For two Reuben’s and a Italian sandwich came to $39. I would definitely say give it a try!“

Belmont snack shop Sandwich Shop • $
West St, Newark

“If you want old school Italian, this is the place for you. My family heard about the Belmont Tavern and decided to drive 40 minutes to check this place out. We arrived early on a Friday night, around 5:45PM. It is in a little bit of a rough area and finding parking on the street can be a challenge. The interior does not look like it's changed since it opened. Red and white checkered table cloths, wood paneled walls, and even a phone booth that lights up when you shut the door! All of the customers are all locals. The Tavern is known for their Shrimp Beeps and Chicken Savoy. My recommendation is the Shrimp Beeps over spaghetti. If you order more than one serving, it is served family style. Some of my family members ordered the Chicken Murphy and Chicken Savoy which are more like chicken parts rather than chicken breast. They both thought it was on the dry side. The service is good although we did feel a bit rushed since it was getting busy.“

“Fresh food from the bread to the meats and vegetables. Nicely made sandwiches that aren't sloppy. Needs to put more condiments, oil, vinegar and oregano on sandwiches to make them taste more like a sub. Make sure you ask them for those things if you prefer them.“

“My GF is at the hospital up the road. I wanted to get her a sandwich but wasn't sure when she'd be able to eat it so I had the abnormal request of asking for everything but the meat on the side to make sure the bread didn't get soggy. The two gentlemen behind the counter were more than happy to oblige and even asked how my gf was doing and if she would be okay. It's the little things that make the biggest difference. Thanks for making a difficult day that little much easier.“

Charlie's Lunch Truck Sandwich Shop • $
338 Distribution St, Newark

“This truck is right in the NJIT campus. You can find it by the long lines next to the truck. The lamb (gyro meat) over rice is very good, it tastes like it was homemade and not the generic factory ones. The long grain basmati is a standout and sets itself apart from the other trucks. The white sauce is a bit heavy like it was just Mayo thinned out with water. Also the hot pepper flakes is not spicy at all. Also I don't think they have the usual Halal truck hot sauce since he never puts any in when I order which is a missed opportunity since I love spicy foods.“

Newark legends party rental Sandwich Shop
614 S Orange Ave, Newark

“One day I felt like having a sandwich and Uber offered me an option to try Newark Legend Deli. At first I was a bit hesitant but once I saw the pictures of their food I knew I had to give it a try . I ordered at least about 5 times from them already. one occasion I placed an order and they had no fries and the kind lady ask if there’s something to replace it with since fries weren’t available at that current moment and I told her to make a cold sandwich. she even threw in some drinks to accommodate the space of fries . I would recommend everyone to check out this place . They have great business etiquette, and are just amazing“
