“I have visited Charley’s Bayonne twice and both times I had a positive experience.

The first time I was there I dined-in. They have a huge dine in area with lots of tables. The order was ready within 10 minutes and my wife and I enjoyed our Philly cheesesteaks.

I downloaded their app and created an account which gave me a $5 credit for my next purchase so I ordered through the app and picked up. This time I ordered a Bacon Cheesesteak which was also tasty. As soon as I arrived (approximately 10 minutes after I had placed the order) the order was ready and properly packed with each cheesesteak in a separate box (much better than Subway’s packaging). I also ordered a side of cheese sauce but I do not recommend it. It was cold and tasteless, much different than Wendy’s cheese sauce.

Both times I visited were on a weekend early afternoon and both times the place was dead. I’m not sure if it gets busier later or during weekdays but I hope this business survives because I definitely recommend it.

“This is a solid subway location with plenty of free parking and they get the job done. Occasionally they may miss an item or toast a bread when I order not-toasted but most of the times they get it right and the app order is always ready on time.“

“Fresh and high quality ingredients, friendly staff, pleasant Italian vibe. Roast beef tastes like raw meat (rare steak) and no seasoning. I'm used to Italian roast beef melting in my mouth and exploding flavors of seasoning and meat umami. Beef was like room temperature and cold cheese side to it wasn't pleasant. Thin breaded eggplant sounds like a good idea but in practice it was soggy. What's the point of breading and frying it if it's not crunchy? Also you could taste the bitterness of the eggplant which hints it wasn't soaked in saltwater. With this single experience I'd say the restaurant is overrated.“

They talked about how good the sandwich was. Since we were heading to NY from Chicago, thought this would be a great place to stop . Let’s just say it didn’t disappoint. We had the Italian sandwich - it was so amazing. People should put this on their list to visit when coming to NY.“

“Arrived around 12:30 and was seated immediately in the bar. Delicious pastrami delight. Not too heavy compared to other greasy pastrami sandwiches. Really liked how the pickle was really sour. Sadly they didn’t have the house fries that day.“

“Ok first off I was born n raised in East Orange so I was familiar with the area and atmosphere. Fast paced..This store is everything. I was greeted and got help ordering by the a very nice female employee. She came from behind the register. Next payment a d waiting for the food... It took a minute but such courtesy 👍🏼. It was a little busy but controlled. Everything looked clean and neat. Now the food was excellent. I ordered a NY chopped cheese with everything and a pastrami and swiss with everything on wheat toast for hubby. Sandwiches were top chef. Very filling. I was so hungry lol forgot to take a pic. Next time and it will definitely be a next time. I suggest pre ordering to save time. But this will be my new sandwich spot 💯💯💯“

“I read the service loan not because the service staff was an issue, but I am sick and tired of being penalized for using cash. I didn’t realize I went to the counter. I made my order selected everything and then I was told if I need to pay cash. I need to go to a kiosk. Annoying because now I have to go through all these menus to figure out what I just ordered feed cash into machine wait for that to come out. Totally unnecessary step and unfortunately something that would make me not want to stop here because they added a layer of complexity. It wasn’t necessary. Now I’m sure by the tone of my review that you could probably tell how old I am but that’s fine by me. I like walking into an establishment explaining what I want paying cash and walking out. It’s that simple but yet this isn’t. That being said, the food is fabulous so if the kiosk doesn’t bother you and you never pay cash then so be it.“

“I do not live in NYC, but I was trying to find someone who could provide food for my daughter's baby shower in the city. After researching a few options online, I contacted The Picnic Basket. I am so glad I did. The shower was to be in Central Park on a Saturday, and I was concerned about getting everything there safely and reasonably easily. As The Picnic Basket is closed on Saturday, I knew we'd need it Friday as late as possible.
They were so helpful, providing suggestions and a menu online with a lot of great options. I was able to order enough food for a party of 20 at a reasonable price. When my son-in-law arrived to pick it up, it was exceptionally well-packed and labeled. It all fit in their small apartment fridge, and we were able to get everything to the shower easily. Everyone absolutely loved the sandwich variety as well as the large kale salad. Everything was excellent and we were able to easily re-pack the leftovers for later. Great food, great service, great communication and budget-friendly. Would not hesitate to use them again! Thanks, Picnic Basket!“
