“McWhorter BBQ is a low key Portuguese bbq spot in the middle of Ironbound. The pork ribs are great the charcoal and saltiness was perfect and the fries were really good. You can’t beat the prices for this area. The service was great and my experience was good but I have one complaint and that is the rice it tasted fishy almost like it was boiled in the same pot as they would boil seafood. If you order fries get a salad or beans on the side and not the rice.“

“First off, I was met with by a staff member in a cowboy hat (LOVE!) The booth was so soft and comfy and the table stands are ornate. I had the short rib and the meat was fall off the bone delicious! It was so tender and the sides were so plentiful and delicious. Each side had something a little different to pair well with the meat; sweet, salty, savory! I also had the shik Karak which was a delicious tea and for dessert, I had a banana crepe drizzled in chocolate. They do have a flair with food and I will definitely be back here!“

“Small place ran by a lovely couple with all the signature classic Romanian dishes! This place is a complete hidden gem! The eggplant salad starter is just like my grandmother and mother make, the meats are excellent - portion sizes are huge and everything tastes like a solid Romanian place on my visits to Romania. The star today was the Papanasi - a classic Romanian cheese donut! One of the best I had ever! Highly recommended! Will definitely come again!“

“Best fried chicken around. We ordered the 6 piece meal and the pieces are huge. Friendly staff as well. Also tried the fries, mashed potatoes, and coleslaw as sides and can't complain about any of them. The one drawback was the jumbo shrimp was a bit on the salty side. Parking in the back. Pricing is great especially these days. All the food is made to order so be prepared to wait 20-30 minutes if you order there but it's def worth it. They have a high chair as well for those who need one.“

“Pulaski BBQ has a small menu and cheap eats for Ironbound standards. The pork ribs with yellow rice & fries was delicious. The seasoning and charcoal taste was amazing, the fries were crispy, however the rice is pretty bland. My server was excellent and the prices are very reasonable. This is one of my favorite spots in Ironbound and I would recommend that you check It out.“

“I just wanted to clarify myself to the worker in that restaurant especially the one in the front. We went at the restaurant today around 2pm. We went inside the restaurant and did not talk right away to let them know we were 2 customers, instead I stopped for a second and checked if we went to the right door. The worker in the front thought that we went in there to look for a guy and be with guy and do something. I just wanted to let that worker in the front know that we went there to eat and not to look for a guy. When we finished eating, that worker in the front got replaced with a young guy. I just don’t want the worker in there to think that we went there to look for a guy. We love to go to the church. Now a days, it is very important to do the right thing. We have a song in the church “choose the right.” Don’t judge the people by just physical appearance.
But other than that, the food was delicious. I highly recommend the restaurant.“

The 1/2 yardbird pieces were deliciously crunchy and seasoned. The crispy chicken sandwich was amazing! The ‘naughty’ waffle fries were a fun twist to the ordinary waffle fries. “This small diner is serving huge flavor, and I'm here for it! Stopped by for this chicken and sausage combo, which came with half a chicken, a thick sausage link, rice, and beans, all for just $15! The chicken was charred grilled and smoky, the sausage was very meaty and svaory, and the rice and beans were just top notch. I also added some sweet plantains and they were nice, firm, and just the right amount of sweet.

The whole experience felt like you're eating at someone's house. Very reasonably priced, great service, and I can't wait to come back!

“I have been wanting some great Jamaican food since I moved from NY in 2021. Thankfully I found this spot. I ordered the jerk pork, rice and peas, cabbage/carrot dinner, along with a large goat soup, festival and a Soursop drink. The pork is divine, well seasoned, juicy, tender and succulent, the rice and peas were flavorful and moist, the cabbage/carrots were very tasty too. The “goat” soup had 1 piece of goat inside but that not withstanding it was seasoned well. The Soursop drink was delicious a bit sweet but still very good. The festival was really good and a great match for soup. I will definitely recommend them to everyone I know and be coming back soon! Visit them today and don’t delay. There’s plenty parking“
