“Sankofa Cafe is a gift to the Montclair community and surrounding communities that it serves. The atmosphere is wonderful and welcoming, the coffee and tea are wonderful, and the staff are always friendly and helpful.
Sankofa has become of hub of the community, often hosting social and cultural events, in addition to participating in community outreach in support of many causes.
The owner, Jessica Troupe, has poured her heart and soul into this cafe, and it shows. It is one of the best coffee shop in the area.“

“Absolutely loved my experience at Orange House Cafe! The atmosphere is cozy, modern, and perfect for relaxing or getting some work done. Their lattes are incredibly smooth and flavorful — easily one of the best coffee spots around. I also tried the breakfast sandwich and pastries, and everything tasted fresh and delicious. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, and the service was quick even during busy hours. Definitely a hidden gem with great vibes, amazing coffee, and excellent food. Can’t wait to come back!“

“Came in for baklava which was delicate and delicious. Extremely soothed by the chill atmosphere and low key vibe. Service was friendly and I appreciated being told which pastries were homemade and which ones were more sweet. We will come back again.“

“Right off the bat cool, clean little place right down the street from Lincoln Park (very nice park btw) and very nice people running it, I also have to say how stylish and well kept their unisex bathroom is. Served me a breakfast sandwich at 2:30 in the afternoon called a BAC (turkey bacon, avocado, cheddar, fried egg and chipotle sauce on a croissant and it was slamming. Great menu with great prices, will definitely return and highly recommend it if you're ever in the area...their pastries looked really tasty as well 😋“

“Melanie did an AMAZING job on my sister's Game of Thrones themed couple shower. I had some ideas but she really took what I said and made my ideas into something more. “What a great place! Passed by here once and our daughter’s name is Madison so I thought it would be fun to try out. Made a reservation for Mother’s Day, probably not the best day to try a new place. We showed up for our 12:15 reservations and despite the mob scene outside, our table was waiting. The food and service were spectacular on a busy day. I can’t wait to come back on a normal day. I had the cauliflower tacos. Amazing, as good as they look in the picture. Wife and daughter had omelettes with salad and potatoes. Neither could finish! Not sure if I can post photos“

“Today we stopped by GiGi’s Cafe and had the Greek Toast and an Americano, while my wife enjoyed the Classic Toast and an Americano. Everything was absolutely delicious.
The cafe itself is beautifully decorated with flowers, creating such a warm and peaceful atmosphere. We also had the privilege of hearing the owner’s family story. Although it began with sadness, they chose hope, love, and resilience, turning it into something truly beautiful and inspiring.
As their sign says, “You come in as a guest, but you leave as family.” That’s exactly how we felt. We walked in as customers, but we left feeling like family.

“We booked this for Valentine's Day evening. We are visiting from the northeast. We had the prefix menu and everything they served us was exquisite. Service was impeccable and it was very romantic. It's not in the very best of neighborhoods, but the building itself is stunningly gorgeous, and the interior even more so.“

“If you love great food and drink and friendly atmosphere this is you're place. I travel 28 miles to come here. It's my home sweet home. I don't go anywhere else from the comfortable seating and the nicely cooled lounge and a place outside if you're a smoker. Wide assortment of coffees and teas and adults beverages. Come on down they are open everyday except Tuesday THE FOOD IS SUPERB.....“

“dirty place....the chef uses his bare hands to prepare and cook meals then denied multiple customers for food requests like 8pm like 🤦♀️..... they never clean while cooking or preparing instead they wait to clean up at 8pm ....gross only meal I was able to eat was a kibob salad because there meat is disgusting 😑“

“This is one of the most beautiful places around! Sagar puts his heart into this place. It's an oasis in Passaic! Come check it out- for a date, or to meet someone or to just chill. He also rents for special occasions- I've even seen small weddings here! Highly highly recommended. Kosher ice cream and snacks as well. Take your wife or date here! In winter, roaring fire inside. I just love it here. Sitting outside and seeing the beauty around me right now. Tranquil....just awesome. Great place to work from as well.“

“WOW my hubby and I stumbled on this cafe this cafe after our HBCU FUNDRAISER RIDE.. we had the medium latte and cappuccino and this amazing pistachio cheesecake. OMG YOU MUST STOP IN.. beautiful atmosphere.. before leaving ordered the tuna melt and an extra pistachio cheesecake . Peyton was patient with us.. he is so polite .. excellent service“
