“Iv been to this location about a dozen times and its a solid 3 star location and I never felt I needed to leave a review due to it never standing out for good or bad it’s your average chipotle and depending on the day is wether you get a good or bad bowl or burrito with good or crappy portions. Today I walked in and was greeted by a very bright young man name Cesar! He was the only one working the service counter and was working both the servings and the register and he was moving as fast as he could while still maintaining the biggest smile ever and the bowls looked like little works of art. The portion control was very fair and when I asked him to make sure I got a solid serving of guac since I’m being charged he smiled and said no problem and he took care of it! This is what you want in your restaurant someone who is warm, welcoming, and happy to be there! If they treat this kid right and allow him to grow as a person and serve his customers faithfully this place is an easy 5 star location! So the location up until now has warned 3 stars but Cesar brings it to 5 stars! Without him this place isn’t anything to rave about. Hire more Cesar’s! Since they don’t wear name tags he’s a young man baby faced with glasses. If you go in there tell him about this review!“

“Cosme is a true celebration of flavor and elevated Mexican cuisine. From the moment you walk in, the ambiance strikes the perfect balance—elegant, warm, and thoughtfully designed, with well-spaced tables that allow for comfortable conversation without overhearing your neighbors.

The service was outstanding—attentive without being intrusive. Our party of six ordered everything at once and shared family-style, and the pacing of each course was spot on.

We started with all the appetizers, and it was nearly impossible to choose a favorite. The scallops al pastor, the corn, and the bass were each exceptional in their own way—beautifully prepared and bursting with flavor.

For mains, the standout was the duck carnitas—tender, rich, and perfectly executed. An off-menu tomahawk ribeye, served with house-made salsa and fresh corn tortillas, was another highlight—arguably better than what you’d find at a top steakhouse.

Although Cosme offers a thoughtful wine list, we found ourselves captivated by the cocktails. The spicy margarita was a favorite, and the mezcal flight was both fun and expertly curated.

Unfortunately, we didn’t have room for dessert—but that only gives us another reason to return. We’re already looking forward to our next visit.“

The drinks were just as memorable. Their signature cocktails blend mezcal, tequila, and tropical flavors in unexpected ways . I had a passion caliente that I’m still dreaming about.

The aguachile and ceviches we've tried have been good. Was pleasantly surprised by their cocktails. Particularly like the Fridita and the Paloma. The couple that runs the restaurant is very kind. “My husband and I first heard about this place from King Schratz and I’m so glad we did!

Yes, like others have mentioned, it is a bit pricey, but it's absolutely worth it. The food is consistently delicious and you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. My husband loves their tacos and burrito, and I’m a big fan of their elotes, tacos and taco bowls. Even my 79-year-old mother, who normally isn’t a fan of Mexican food, loves theirs. That alone says a lot!

Their tres leches is also incredible. I’ve sampled a lot of tres leches cakes in my life and theirs easily jumped to the top of my list.

Beyond the food, the customer service is just as impressive. Two of the owners, Jay and Kike, are always so friendly, accommodating, and helpful. They even offer delivery, and their driver, Juan, is just as awesome! In this day and age, it’s rare to find a Mexican spot that’s both authentic and Latino-owned... and Just Tacos is exactly that. We’re more than happy to keep supporting them!“

“We had a great time at this location. The atmosphere was cool, the music wasn’t loud, the waiter were busy. For appetizers we had the “CORN ESQUITES” and it was delicious. For our meal we had a feast of food. We try different types of tacos (AL PASTOR, BAJA CRISPY FISH, BEEF RIBEYE DELUXE” and their burritos and it was great! The price of the tacos were steep, I ain’t going to lie. Also if you like American style tacos with lots of cheese and sauces, then these might not be the tacos for you. The alcoholic drink were good! The “Mexican” soda in the bottle was flat for us.

Street parking in this area is not the best.

“The food and drinks were phenomenal! We ordered the ceviche which was fresh and full of flavor, spice level was great! The ensalada Carmen was incredible, the nopal and queso panela were a good combination. The garnachas had a kick to them but it made you want more. A huge hit were the empanadas de platano, the sweet and salty with the chocolate and chipotle based sauce was unreal!

For entrees we did the ribeye tacos, pescado con verdolagas and the ribeye huarache! All were so filling and delicious! As a Mexican, it’s hard finding good quality Mexican food with fresh ingredients but they really hit the nail on the head with each dish and the mix of flavors. The drinks packed a punch and we appreciated their use of mezcal in several of the cocktail options.

Finally to end we tried the tres leches which wasn’t too sweet but still moist. The fresh strawberries really elevated it. The pastel de elote was also a favorite, fresh out of the oven so it was warm and melted in your mouth. Mixed with the coffee ice cream, it was a dream.

“When we review restaurants it should be in the context of what they are, and what they are for. This is a beyond serviceable lunch spot that seems to invalidate existence of the nearby chipotle, and possibly even the nearby sweet green.

The food is fresh, the prices are reasonable and the portions are immense. The staff is friendly and the place is clean.

The food is also, by the way, quite tasty.

There are a lot of lunch options in the neighborhood but this is clearly one of the best if you are seeking a chipotle style meal.

I feel as if given the context I have no choice but to give this place five stars“

“The new lunch menu Is really good! The burritos are very large and delicious. The tacos are quite small but tasty. The service is always friendly but it's slow because there's usually only one server who also acts as bartender and host too during lunch time. I've never seen it very busy yet. They charge a $25 hold for a reservation, which probably makes a lot of people not want to go because they think the place is going to be extremely high demand or fancy. This is a nice casual neighborhood restaurant and I think that if they took that off their website they would have a lot more business.“

“I cannot sing the praises of this place and the staff enough! We had a long day at the museum and we were all starving and the kids were very cranky. We took forever trying to find a place that they would all find something to eat at but that place didn't work out so we came here not realizing how lucky we were. After having a quick glance at the menu I realized two of my children would probably not eat anything. Two of the ladies that work there helped us work it out to piece together a meal for them with components they already have. It took quite a while figuring everything out but they were patient and helpful. The food was outstanding and the cocktails and mocktails were phenomenal. If you're looking for a vibrant, flavor-packed escape in the heart of Hell’s Kitchen, El Coco absolutely delivers—starting with the CHIPS AND GUACAMOLE. Served with housemade chips that are perfectly crisp with just the right touch of salt, this starter sets the tone for everything to come. The guac is creamy, fresh, and full of limey zing, a classic done right.

Now let’s talk AL PASTOR—marinated pork with sweet pineapple that hits that perfect balance of savory and juicy. But the real surprise? That pineapple chutney. It’s next level. Sweet, tangy, and a little spicy—it brought the whole dish together in the best way.

I went with the cheeseburger empanadas (yes, you read that right), and they were unreal—crispy on the outside, ooey-gooey savory on the inside. My fiancée had the jalapeño empanadas and shrimp & crab meat camarones tacos, both of which were fresh, flavorful, and had that signature El Coco twist: bold, layered flavor and beautifully presented.

The vibe here is unmatched—El Coco is popped out in pink, fun, and full of personality. It’s got that Instagram-ready aesthetic but without sacrificing authenticity or comfort. The energy in the room is as vibrant as the food.

Shoutout to Denise, our server, who was warm, welcoming, and super attentive—made us feel right at home.
