The food was amazing, wonderful, outstanding, and they were able to tweak things on the spot for my family members with allergies.I didn't have a problem with one of the servers dropping and breaking the plate with something. It can happen to anyone. I was not happy though that he didn't notice (didn't check to notice) that so of the spilled food got onto people's (children's) shoes. Ok, it happens as well, he didn't realize.What I didn't like was that while people were still sitting at tables and talking, they started cleaning up. Not empty plaltes but water glasses, napkins.... The person sitting next to me (the one who was paying the bill, I e. organized the event, chose the place and gave them business) was approached three times during the speech whether she was done with her main course. She said no three times, but on the fourth she said ok, fine take it away.One more: the servers barely smiled. “My family and I absolutely LOVE Mimmos Pizzaria. Anything you order is out of this world!I order things like mozzarella sticks just to get a little cup of the sauce. It is so darn good! One of my favorite items to get is the garlic knot grilled chicken with red peppers, fresh mozzarella, and balsamic glaze. I think we have tried just about all of their pizzas and I can't pick a favorite on that so can't answer that question. Ha ha ha very clean, very friendly. The staff is always on it. This is one of those businesses that genuinely care about their customers...one quick story on how good they are as people in general, my father-in-law passed away Christmas Eve a few days later..two trays of food showed up at my house that we did not order, we couldn't figure out where it came from. No one was claiming it & it wasn't paid for. It was fairly pricey, but Mimmo( the owner) refused to let us pay for it! He gave us the two trays of food, and asked nothing in return! This is why family owned small businesses are what should be running this world instead of large corporations that don't care. They will always be our number one Pizzaria. Best around! “This restaurant is a diamond in the rough. It lies in a small strip mall in Whiting NJ. The only deficit are the empty stores surrounding it. It has become my father's favorite place to order his Italian food. We made reservations 2 weeks ago for eight people and an infant to celebrate my dad's 88th, my 2 daughters 30th & 26th birthdays. We all drove 2 hours from northern NJ & southeastern PA in the pouring rain March 23rd to enjoy the afternoon together. The staff was incredible, from Joey who greeted me, to Erica our server, Theresa and Isabella whom I made reservations with. The best was yet to come. The appetizers, salad, and soups were just the beginning. The dinners we all ordered were exquisitely prepared as if we were in NYC or Philadelphia. If you haven't eaten there or tried an entree our family strongly suggests you do. Most importantly my dad met his great grandson for the 1st time. Oh, I had the Tilapia Trio with linguine. “Outstanding experience on Sunday March 24, 2024. My wife and I were in the Toms River area and decided to visit after not being there for several years. Wonderful decision. Classic "old school" restaurant that seems to have "gone with the wind". Lovely venue with a roomy dining room... linen covered tables and napkins; "conservatory type" large "atrium style" windows completed the ambience with appropriate uniformed staff to assist. Every diner that afternoon seemed to be having a delightful meal. My wife is of Italian descent and rarely chooses an Italian restaurant for dinner out. When she does ... it's because they have items on the menu that she doesn't prepare. Today ... not seeing Zuppa di pesce on the menu... she asked our server Antonio, if it was a possibility. He answered, "I'll ask the chef ... if he has the ingredients, he probably will make it". Fortunately he did. As meals are prepared to order... the wait was worth it. (39$ which included baby lobster tails) We had warm semolina bread and appetizers of baked oysters and a beet salad with wonderful bourbon manhattans while we waited. (BTW craft cocktails were $11.50 each. Robust glasses of Ruffino Chianti at 8.50 each... Thank you). Entrees did not disappoint; in quality, quantity and price. I had broiled rack of lamb, (4 "medium temp" meaty chops) served with a "nice portion" of mashed potatoes and vegetable medley: (broccoli, squash, zucchini and baby asparagus) 41$, which didn't disappoint. Cappuccino and double espresso with a suggested snifter of sambucco (with 3 coffee beans) was a nice finish. Thank you. We'll be back!!“
“Ate there for the first time. 0rdered their Children Parm Dinner. Another member of my party had the Eggplant Parm Dinner. They serve it with homemade bread. The food was tasty and moist. The sauce is not runny and tastes fresh. The meat was tender. Their portion size is large. The chicken was one large piece. Not 2 very small pieces hidden under a lot of cheese and sauce. The gentlemen that were running it were very friendly. It is a small store with great food and service. The serve a variety of food from pizza, calzones and heroes. The store is well lit and clean.“
