“If it’s your first omakase experience then you’ll like it. If you’ve had more expensive omakase before, then this one doesn’t really have the same experience factor. The quality of the fish was good but it was fast(less than 1h) and felt rushed. The sushi chef didn’t really explain anything other than state the obvious name of the fish. But it’s good for the price.“

“Well, let’s start off with the fact that the food here is amazing, so far, every single time I’ve eaten the ramen here with my girlfriend, we both were in for an amazing treat, the ramen is delicious and the broth is flavorful, and we also have gotten onigiri and spam masubi, both of which were also delicious, and the place and atmosphere are very cute and very cozy, not only that, the service here is often very friendly and sweet and welcoming, and they seem to really care about their customers and their experience, highly recommend! 10/10“

“Been searching for good japanese restaurant for quite some time. Let me just say that Mikado far exceeded our expectations. From tge appetizers to dinner, it was exceptional. Our server, Michelle, was great. We had tge seared pepper tuna sushi app - so fresh and delicious. My husband had the hibachi with filet and lobster - amazing too. My son had the combo udon noodles - ate every bite! We had the tempura banana dessert - delicious as well as the chocolate mousse cake and coppa cafe. Amy at the front desk was so gracious and sweet. We will definitely be back many times. Give this place a try - you won’t be disappointed!!!“

“Popped in a hibachi lunch with my DW during the Sutumn Festival here in town. Excellent food, and the hibachi lunch is a steal at 16 bucks for the filet mignon. Not a typo, you read it right. A bargain. They serve it 11 to 3. It is pictured. Includes the miso soup, also pictured.

Friendly and courteous wait staff. The spicy yellowtail roll (pictured) was very good. The pictures do not do justice to the good presentation. The Wasabi kicked butt.

If you're in Moorestown for lunch, definitely give Akira2 a try. Great value for price paid.

Update April 2026...went for an early dinner and Akira did not disappoint. The Samurai roll is outstanding, and the hibachi seafood for 2 is a screaming bargain. Ingredients were fresh and tasty. You simply won't go wrong here. Important note: BYOB.“

“Stopped in tonight for dinner. Had both the chicken and pork dumplings. Both were excellent! So flavorful and fresh. Very big too. Had the pork katsu as my entree. It was fantastic! Cooked perfectly and tasted great. The family running the restaurant was very sweet. I walked past this place so many times over the years and never noticed it. I'm glad I finally found them. I had the filet mignon and chicken and was barely able to eat everything. “I ordered take out. I was super hungry and I was hopeful that this would be perfect to curb my appetite. When my food arrived, I was disappointed by the portion size (6 pieces) and filling (very little fish) of the Philly Roll. I tried to include better photos but my app timed out while attending to the kiddos. womp womp. I really enjoyed the Pork Dumpling (6) but was slightly uncomfortable with the presentation/packaging; the dumplings were sitting on a paper doily soaking up the condensation which can be both off putting and beneficial. The Exotic Bomba was delicious and perfect for sharing (says 6 servings but I would say about 2, maybe 3). The flavor of these thing were great but there could have been improvements to this order.

“Tucked away in a small shopping center, very easy to overlook, sits a gem of a restaurant. They have multiple cuisines to choose from, Japanese, Chinese, and Thai. The footprint of the restaurant is small, but it is so thoughtfully arranged and decorated. I wish I had found this place sooner and will definitely continue to visit.“

I love how they’d rather you be comfortable eating than for you to pretend like you know what you’re doing. Everyone is treated equally here whether you’ve tasted ponzu sauce or not. They will explain what you’re eating and how to eat each course. I recommend this place for people who don’t mind spending on quality and who have a pallet sensitive enough to appreciate refined Japanese cuisine. I removed a star from their service because apparently they do something nice for people on their birthdays, and we were skipped, although it was noted in our reservation. Recommend pairing sake and whiskey to go with the Wagyu. You won’t regret it! Also, go check out the bathroom while you’re there! They really brought the best parts of Japan to Philly!“
