Delicious fried chicken! So angry with myself for not being trying Barn Bird earlier. My husband and I got Barn Bird Kitchen for the first time 3 weeks ago - and we’ve now ordered from them twice more and ate there once. They only do like 6 things, but they do them soooo well! A great reason to walk to the end of the Village.
Barn Bird Kitchen is SO good! 🍗 The fried chicken was crispy, juicy, and full of flavor, but those sweet potato fries with the seasoning were absolutely AMAZING! 🍠🔥 Seriously, some of the best I’ve ever had. And the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely coming back! ❤️
Obsessed with this chicken and the hibiscus tea. The people are always super helpful and friendly, too!

Barn Bird Kitchen is a restaurant in Maplewood that serves Nigerian influenced fried chicken. The fried chicken is crispy, juicy, and full of flavor. The sweet potato fries with the seasoning are amazing. The loaded fries have the perfect amount of chicken, coleslaw, and pickles on top with chicken strip cut up and special sauce, and are seasoned to perfection. The Nigerian influenced chicken sandwich is incomparable, with spices, juiciness, and crispiness, house slaw that is not too creamy or too watery, pickle, and a soft bun. The sweet potato corn bread is similar to carrot cake but no frosting and not too sweet. Portions are amazing and big. The seasoning level of hotness can be chosen, and mild is available. Service is phenomenal, friendly, welcoming, warm, and inviting, and the wait time is minimal. The gentleman at the front is very kind and gives extra sauce for chicken bites on the side. The interior is intriguingly cool while not being too oppressively hip. The only downside is that seating can be limited at times, and kids after school can be annoying. The food is made with a lot of love and is definitely a treat.
