Food is Really Good. Nice Place to eat.
We had a wonderful dining experience at The Black Horse Tavern. The historic atmosphere is warm, charming, and full of character, making it a great place for a relaxed lunch or dinner. The main dining and bar area features vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, a warm fireplace, and plenty of booths and tables, creating a dramatic, tasteful, and inviting ambience with good energy.
The food is always good and really good, featuring pub food with a raw bar. Specific dishes noted as very good or delicious include the burrata, smashed avocado, Cesar salad, Halibut special, short rib special, and Steak Frites. The fish and chips had good flavor, though some items like desserts are nothing special. It is considered a bit pricey.
Service is good, very good, attentive, professional, friendly, and accommodating, with staff happy to share holiday cheer. The entire team never fails to impress, contributing to a pleasant experience, though they are still working out some kinks. The bar has a small but good selection of locally brewed craft beers and serves the best bourbon old fashioned.
