“Dootsie's Kitchen is a true soul food gem!

I had the whiting with collard greens and cabbage, plus two more whiting with fries—and let me tell you, everything was absolutely delicious! The fish was perfectly seasoned and fried just right, and the sides had that real home-cooked flavor you can’t fake. The collards and cabbage were tender and flavorful, like something straight out of Grandma’s kitchen.

I had the pleasure of trying both the honey hot and mild wings, and the flavors were exceptional. I would like to extend my gratitude to our bartender, who was exceptionally skilled, amiable, and outgoing. Additionally, I had the opportunity to speak with the owner, who is a truly wonderful individual. “This place has really gone down hill. I think the reason they keep it open is because it’s right across from the movie theater and they have a captive audience. Most of the time, you can walk right in and sit, but the good times end there. Usually, they take forever with orders, the food comes out wrong or has been sitting in the window for 10 minutes and comes out like something from Wawa’s hot and ready food by the checkout. The waiters typically look like they’re running around blindfolded serving 20 tables on their own even though nobody is there. The drinks are yummy like Willy Wonka Made them, and I like the brownies and Jack Daniel’s chicken even if they don’t call it Jack Daniel’s anymore. At least they serve food late unlike the tavern downtown. Five stars.“

“I had asked for a quiet table both through Open Table and by calling Gusto directly and leaving a message. There was live music and we wanted to be able to talk. The hostess tried to put us in one of the 2 tables closest to the music. We said again that we requested a quiet table and she said oh, yes I see. Ended up in the back under the stairs which was better. Our waitress was great and patient and came back to check with us just often enough that we didn't need to look for her. We started with the ginger calamari which was very tasty and pretty tender and included strips of ripe mango and red peppers. She had the chicken Parmesan which she said was very good and enough for 2 people; she took half home. I had a salad of fresh peaches and heirloom tomatoes from the specials menu, to which I added grilled chicken. It was very good and just the right amount to finish. Skipped dessert- maybe next time.“

“This was my first ever time at a Stewart’s Restaurant, and I can undoubtedly say that I was NOT disappointed. There are so many food items to choose from and they even offer a vegan menu. At this location specifically, the staff was very welcoming and were quick to check in on us when we needed something. I loved the root beer float and the chili hot dog, and I would definitely come here again soon.“

“We’ve stayed here annually for 16 years. It’s a pass through for us. One night but friendly and helpful staff good food and we seen the same FD staff for the past 12 years. Even during Covid we stayed, they cared even though the kitchen was closed they advised us where to get take out. It is a comfortable, friendly place to stay.“

“Being a meat cutter by trade in the Air Force, having a hard time cutting a $45 med/rare filet is hard to swallow. The fact it was served already cut, apparently was the first clue to be prepared, this may take a minute. Flavor was better, but still needed to ask for s&p. Whipped potatoes amazing! French Onion soup as well. Rib appetizer out of this world! Don't buy the chicken nuggets although the presentation basket was a nostalgic touch. Macncheese side was incredible! Recommend the Wood-double Bourbon.“

“We stayed here so we could go to Six Flags. Really nice people and great customer service ! The front desk was very accommodating and helpful and the restaurant/ bar personnel were extremely sweet! Not many options to eat but what we had was actually fresh and surprisingly good for a small hotel. Free parking and laundry room were a big plus. Very quiet neighborhood and some weddings were happening while we stayed but I basically heard no noise from guests or was bothered by loud music. Really recommend!“

“We've been here a few times and have had a great experience across the board. The food is delicious and at a great price. Our favorites are the BBQ ribs, wings, and coleslaw/potato salad. The staff are friendly. The atmosphere is a little lack luster but most people order take out and don't typically eat in. Regardless, we love the food and have had great experiences. We'll always come here when we crave classic BBQ. Highly recommend!“

“A hidden jewel. This 50's themed diner is always immaculate. Staff is well trained and really friendly for this family owned business. We, until recently, worked our business from home so Chris's is our home from home. Always accommodating, food is excellent, prices fair. My happy place❤“

“Best pizza in New Jersey! I’m honestly surprised Dave Portnoy hasn’t come to rate this place a 10. Their pizza is incredibly crispy, and the ingredients are simple but high quality. They’re always making different pies throughout the day, so there’s always something fresh and delicious coming out.

The customer service is impeccable. I’m not from New Jersey, but every time I walk in, they treat me like family. They also have a great lunch special—two slices of any kind. I usually go for the vodka cheese and a pepperoni slice, and it never disappoints. Oh, and you have to try the sugar-free cream soda—it’s so good!

“We had a nice time celebrating my son's surprise 21st birthday at Grillestone. Jose and staff were all very nice and easy to work with and they even helped pull off the surprise. Since it was a 21st Birthday, I wanted to keep it casual and wanted food that my son enjoys when hanhing out. Jose was accommodating and I ordered all different appetizers as the meal. We had plenty of food and it came out all night long as discussed just needed a little bread in between (lol) and we even had leftovers to take home as well. We had a variety of pizza, fried calamari, avacado toast, wings, mac & cheese, nachos, sliders & fries, quesadilla & Ceasar Salad, Great staff, food, drinks all night long. The only thing missing was the band/ DJ but the weather didn't cooperate that night. Thanks again and we look forward in coming back!!!“
